I'll also agree with whoever said there should be more spots on Cheetara.
The spots were hot. -
Hey, did they ever explain why Mumm-Ra couldn't stay all muscle bound all the time?
I didn't watch much of Thundercats, so I didn't know if they addressed this or if it was like the Power Rangers never starting a fight with their uber sword attack. Did he have a time limit on the power?
Just wondering. -
Quote:But wait, isn't that comparing two different aspects of Superman and Batman? To break it down more simply: super-strong, invulnerable alien describes plenty of Superman's opponents throughout his career, but super-wealthy, brilliant fighter describes few of Batman's*
I mean, if we're looking for Batman villains that are brilliant fighters and super-wealthy; then the Superman comparison would be super-powerful and middle-class. And I don't think "middle-class" when I think of Bizarro and Darkseid. -
Let's not pick and choose villains though.
Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc, Clayface, and others I can't think of right now; may not share Batman's resources, but are far more powerful than he is. And I would say that Ra's al Ghul has at least equal, if not superior, resources to Bruce Wayne.
EDIT: Beaten to the point! -
Quote:Or on the side of the people who'd rather not be slaughtered en masse.
Theres a class war going on in Gotham, and Batman has taken the side of the rich.
While it's an interesting interpretation of Batman, it doesn't really hold any more weight than any other interpretation. Every one of the points listed could be viewed in a completely different way.
But it's always fun to see someone put their own spin on things. -

Quote:While I've never been a big stickler for how muscle bound Supes should be, I WILL admit that I always liked Clark Kent best when he was drawn to look like a beefy farm-boy stuffed into a suit.Well just to be clear about all this I figure Superman should at least always be played by a guy who's "physically fit" but not by someone who'd be considered "muscle bound".
This new guy looks pretty good though. Hopefully we'll get a real good Superman movie this time. -
Okay, I can accept if something just isn't your cup o' tea, but THAT statement is just plain wrong.
The art was heavily stylized, but it did not suck.
Heck, the shadow fight from Samurai Jack is one of the coolest and most stylish pieces of animation I've seen. -

I watched this three times in a row this morning.
I just watched it another two.
I... I think I'm in love. -
I bought Wizard until last year when my comic shop closed. I never really got the hate for it, but then I didn't get it for the price guide and as for the commercialism.... eh, I just figured "well, yeah; that's how most businesses are".
I only really read it for the previews of upcoming stuff and the humor (though Toyfare was better for that. Hey, does that mean Toyfare is going too?). And it even turned me onto a few books that I probably woulda never even heard of otherwise. Most notably Richard Moore's 'Boneyard', which remains in my top 10 list of favorite comics ever.
I'll miss ya Wizard. Here's hoping your business can still flourish on the interwebz. -

Quote:But it CAN be one of them. There are any number of things that make comic book movies bad in general, but deviating from the comic mythology is not one of them.
I'm not a stickler for matching the continuity of the comics, but if a movie strays so far from it that the end product shares nothing with the source material besides a few character names, then I believe the movie HAS failed in some way.
Does this apply to 'First Class'?
Don't know yet. I'll watch it, but I have zero anticipation for it. The first two movies deviated from the comics and I had my share of problems with them. But I still enoyed them well enough.
Since 'Last Stand' and 'Wolverine' though, I've pretty much checked out on X-Men movies. I'm basically just hanging around till Marvel gets the film rights back. -

Let's just make sure we don't misinterpret "strong female character" with "a guy with bewbs".

Quote:Perhaps "The Caped Crusader"."The Dark Knight Rises" is too close to "The Dark Knight" for me. I'd like to see a different title.
I didn't think they'd be able to use "The Dynamic Duo" since they were refusing to use Robin, but if Catwoman teams up with him, it could still work.
Or if those are too silly for Mr. Nolan, mayhap "Shadow of the Bat". -

Quote:My favorite part about that chart is the mass of lines coming from Wolverine.Try this one on for size. Not quite as pretty, but insanely accurate.

Linked to avoid GIANT IMAGE!
Oh Logan, you really ARE Marvel's biggest man-*****. -
Hey, if Batman could make a comeback from Adam West (which was HUGELY popular and was the major face of Batman for quite awhile), I don't think Wonder Woman's position is all that bad. Especially now that both companies seem to be trying to get all their A-listers their own movies.

Quote:So yeah, the fly girl. This is who she's playing.
Or... wait.... are they gonna give her the New Warriors powers?
They know those aren't her actual mutant powers, right?
I mean, I know Hollywood types don't research real close sometimes, but SURELY they'd know those powers were completely technological.
*sigh*
Course, even if they do go with the fly version, there's the problem with her now apparantly being older than Cyclops in the movie-verse.
I.... I'm just.... gonna go read some comics.
Try and settle myself.

They are?
I thought all they had so far was Batman. I know Green Lantern's on the way, but I don't think we can count that as a win until it's released.
Or are we counting V and Watchmen. I suppose they were successful, though I'd rate 'em about on par with Incredible Hulk, which I think was Marvel's least successful flick.
