I say chaps, let's scuttle that ship something fierce, whut?
And then some rum and cola with you fine fellows.
I say, if that Navy Captain gives me any lip, I'll jolly well make him walk the plank. -
I foresee many cosplayers using this for furry characters.

Quote:Which makes perfect sense in that setting. Transformers are mechanical organisms. Voltron is nearly magical in nature. I don't think they SHOULD look like practical machines. They should look fantastical and alien. Now personally I love this sort of aesthetic, because to me a robot is an incredibly complex piece of machinery, and the visual complexity should reflect that. It also probably helps that the main giant robot series I grew up with as a kid was Mechwarrior, which always treated the robots like practical weapons of war, and wasn't afraid to use less humanoid appearances if they acted better on the battlefield.
Now the point about appealing to the larger audience carries more weight (as disappointing as it is). Though I WILL point out that you don't HAVE to use the popular style. It's riskier not to, sure, but look at games like Bioshock. -
Quote:The trouble is that what works in a piece of static art does not always work as well when in motion.I think these are awesome! I look at this in this light, if this was just artwork made by say Alex Ross, or really any other artist, it would be praised to no end even some wishing a movie would look like that. Actually, I've already seen artwork of robots like this elsewhere for arts sake that were praised to no end.
The designs for the Transformers movies weren't really bad, but in motion were just too confusing. Plus I just don't think Voltron should look so..... cobbled together. More Iron Man, less Blade Runner. -
So is his sister still Black Panther?
Will there be two Black Panthers?
Will Storm be sharing his seedy apartment in Hell's Kitchen?
"Without his resources"? Isn't all of Wakanda "without their resources" what with vibranium gone?
Is he still King?
Does his sister take the throne?
If so, does she also receive all that was his, including Storm? And might that lead to hot lesbian sex? -
Quote:Overlord surprised me.For gameplay, I liked Overlord better than LotSB, but I still had a lot of fun playing LotSB and actually getting to interact with Liara made me glad I stayed faithful!
I mean, rogue AI/VI were nothing new to the series, but the hovertank is always fun and the corpses strewn about while creepy computer faces shouted at you created a good atmosphere.
And then Shepard pushes the button and things got VERY interesting.
A neat little twist to the mission and a quite moving ending and choice really sold that arc.
P.S.
Armless droid running about. Did everyone pull the Renegade trigger? -
Aww, I hope not.
I was kinda gettin' into that book, even if they did nerf Juggernaut's powers again. Plus they had Man-Thing. I love Ma........
Yeah, no way I'm settin' myself up for that one. -

Pure, uncut awesome.
Nearly **** a brick when I first saw the Shadow Broker.
It was funny; I'd just started a new playthrough a few days before this came out (gotta have a save file for every available romance) with the intention of making this my Tali save.
However, the stuff with Liara was so compelling, I switched to that and decided to do another run through with Tali later. This also makes me wonder if we can expect DLC featuring Ashley/Kaiden in the future. -
Quote:I must be a genetic anomaly or something. I keep hearing this argument from people who've "lost interest in mainstream comics", and find myself at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.also, I'm also someone who lost interest in DC and Marvel due to their insistence on never advancing the story. Changes and developments in character are negated by the next writer whose own developments are only just getting started when he's replaced and then they're negated and the cycle starts again.
I am not interested in story by committee.
Give me one author with a clear beginning, middle and end.
Then, if you want a sequel, move on to a sequel, don't just keep telling the story about Batman...we should be telling the story of Batman's heir's heir, whether by blood or otherwise.
I WANT Batman to continue on. Having Bruce retire or die and focusing on his heir would turn me off the book completely (unless it were a 'what if' story; I love those). I want the X-Men I know and love to stick around. I don't need exact timelines. I just want to see my favorite heroes partaking in the high adventure that they do so well.
The tone of the "don't read Marvel/DC" posts always seem so condescending; implying that I should feel ashamed of my love of these "lesser" comics.
Well screw you all!
I love my comics; continuity errors and all. Frequent resurrections and confusing backstories? Who cares, as long as I get the chance to laugh at Spidey's one-liners, marvel at Batman's resourcefulness, or cheer on Wolverine as he does what he's best at (appearing in multiple titles?).
So suck on that, anime snobs. You can't stop the Comic Revolution. We'll never say die, we'll never give up, and we'll never.....
Wait, they did WHAT to Spidey and MJ?
YOU COMIC BOOK B******S!!! -

Quote:Ah, I see. They're what people hide behind when accused of being wrong.
So when I say that I enjoy more DC and Marvel comics than anime stories, I'm NOT just expressing my personal preference. I'm actually committing a falsehood.
Good to know how incredibly wrong I am about my own opinions. -

Quote:Indeed. And honestly, I am not judging whether or not X3 is "good" or not. I am saying that it is not a financial failure for an ensemble cast that was growing more famous and more expensive
X3 was not a financial failure. It DID make money.
AT THE COST OF MY SOUL!!! -

Quote:Let's not forget that this is his World War II costume. I expect an update once he gets to modern times.I have to agree with you, also I think this costume is over rated. Looks wierd to me.
Its going to seem odd when they make the Avengers movie and everyones costumes look more like there "Iconic" comic book counter parts (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Nick Fury, Black Widow), then their leader (Capt) comes in with a baggy costume and helmet lol.
Not to say the movie's will be bad, but the costume doesn't seem right to me. I am all for change and tweeks but something just seems really off about this. -

Quote:Which roots are those?I just find it sad that a country like America is losing its roots.
Our British roots?
Our Native American roots?
Should I be farming or something?
But seriously, I watch the anime I like and don't watch the stuff I don't. Kinda like every other form of media. Younger kids tend to like anime for it's tendency toward angst and ultra-violence; sorta like comics in the 90s. Once their tastes mature they have a more pragmatic outlook on things, so I don't see any problem.
And yes, Japan absolutely loves our stuff. Westerns are a particular favorite, as evidenced by Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. They also have X-Men, Spiderman, Batman, and quite a few others over there as well. Why do you think everyone looks so frickin' white in anime?
As for iconic characters; ummmm... there's Astro Boy. Hmmmmm.... Speed Racer's pretty well known. Megaman, though that's more due to the game. Does Hello Kitty count?
In any case, I'm all for mixing things up with other countries. The more intertwined we are, the less likely we'll want to blow each other to smithereens. -
