  1. These look awesome, especially since I don't think they mentioned Life Drain being removed from Dark Blast!

    Not sure how I feel about Repulse on stalkers being changed to a Stun Aura, but I am giddy about most everything else!

    Yes. When I cannot log into the game after I disconnect, I also cannot get to the CoH website, however I can get to other websites.

    When I first logged my Main in it said "Request Timed Out" once, then from there on it ranged from:

    with a couple spikes at

    This went on from zone in, to disconnect. When I disconnected it did not say Request Timed Out. It just continued to vary between 37-42ms.

  11. I'm desperate!



    My main is perma-stuck in Pocket D because immediatly as he enters he gets this look on Netgraph and cannot do anything until he mapservers out. He can't even log out and I have to force City of Heroes to End Task to get it to quit.

    Another character of mine cannot publish anything in the Mission Archtect. As soon as I hit Publish this same netgraph pattern shows up and I am once again stuck until I mapserver.

    Other characters get hit with this same netgraph style randomly throughout my play time and sometimes (rarely) it looks like this instead.



    And EVERY time I get disconnected this way I cannot log back in for five to ten minutes.

    I'm torn between thinking it's my problem or it is City of Heroes'. The day issue 20.5 came out is when this all started happening, except the night before I switched from High Speed internet back to DSL/Cable because it was faster. Randomly DCing during my play session? I could see that being something with my connection. DCing every time I log on to a specific character? I don't think that is me.

    What does this mean and how do I go about fixing it?! Where's the desperation emoticon?

    An observation with no proof behind it below.

    (For anyone else with the problem I don't know what I did, but I logged on with my second account and used a character that wasn't lagging in that area. I just went in there with him first before logging in my stuck account and it became unstuck upon arrival.)
  14. Is anyone else getting stuck in the Tiki room off of Pocket D (Freedom Server)? My main is stuck in it because I zone in and am unable to go through doors or summon my Ouro Portal or anything due to lag. My netgraph looks bad and after about 2 minutes I lose connection to the mapserver.

    Is it just me?

    Another symptom I have noticed is that after I lose connection, I am unable to log into the game for about five minutes afterward, getting the "The game client was unable to connect to the login server" at log in.

    Yes, this was specifically implemented by the developers. Their goal was to eliminate Vengeance Stacking. It failed and we are left with what you are encountering right now.

    The way it works is that Vengeance Fails to stack/refresh if you already have Vengeance affecting you. Note: If you want to stack Vengeance, activate multiple applications of Vengeance at the same time.

    Which one are you thinking of? It has to accept either Damage or Range enhancement to be able to accept the HO. Things like Thermal Shields, Sonic Shields, Increase Density, etc. work because they have a range to enhance.

    At worst (against a high resistance Mastermind) I have seen Ion kill 2/6 pets and cripple the rest along with the Mastermind himself. Also, some Ion branches will drain endurance and reduce recovery rates. This gives the Mastermind another problem to deal with since he no longer has the endurance to summon back the pets you just killed.

    I think there really have been two different situations that are being analyzed in this post that we can roll into one.

    You have fallen into a trap. As you look around the room you just entered you notice a Teeter-totter in the background with people apparently on it. Before you can take another thought, the monitor behind you turns on and the villain starts talking.

    Villain: Greetings Hero! I thought you might fall for my trap. I am currently behind door number one! (A door to your left lights up) I am broadcasting to you though to let you know that room is booby-trapped. When you leave something will happen behind you.

    The area with the teeter-totter lights up and you see just how mad he is.

    Villain: I have placed a teeter-totter over boiling hot lava. At one end you'll see an adult man, and the other end has three kids. If you save the man, the three teens will fall into the lava, and vica-versa. That is, if you decide to save them at all.

    The monitor once again flashes.

    Villain: Because right now, I am heading out. Aurevoir! If you leave that room and come after me your departure will set off explosives that will take out this abandoned factory and kill the four hostages. Well, they are set to go off in five minutes anyway. Mua ha ha.

    The screen goes blank, and you are left with choices...



    We have two choices to make in this situation. The first choice is whether or not to go after the villain and sacrifice the current victims basically:

    Actual Death vs. Potential Death

    Personally I see that the easy answer is, save the lives of the people who are actually going to die without help.

    What if we decided that we needed to stop the potential death? We do not know what this potential will cause but our goal will be to, at its core, save lives. Are we not being hypocritical if we abandon the opportunity in the here and now?

    Actual Death vs. Actual Death

    There are three outcomes.
    A. Save the Adult and let the kids perish.
    B. Save the kids and let the adult perish.
    C. Create a plot device that lets you save everyone.

    Inevitably it will be C. Just as you are about to make that ultimate choice your Hero friend Tongue Twister calls you up and informs you that after much trial and error he has created a way to, "transport teeter-tottering teens to townhall, though the taller the teenager the tougher the turbulence throughout the transfer. Terrific, no?"

    I was gunna say that on non-ambush farms Super Strength is easier to use due to the larger radius, but only a cap of ten for both?! I've gotten too used to Psychic Shockwave...
