  1. It actually does a DoT effect of 3 ticks of Lethal damage, if you check both the Detailed Info and the Combat Log. So, the tooltip and description are simply false.
  2. First and only EB I encountered on my Crab was Silver Mantis. I couldn't do enough single-target damage to outdamage her regeneration, and eventually, after kiting her around the room with no endurance left, died. Bleh.
  3. On a random note, doesn't the fact that the 20% crit chance against slept/held targets is being made PvP-only nerf the newly available Electric Melee powerset? At least solo/small teams wise?

    Or did I misunderstand something?

    Kind of have mixed feelings about this.
    Admittedly, it's mostly because I enjoyed playing a Dominator/Stalker duo with my brother for some time, heh.
    However, with the damage multiplier being raised and all, wouldn't this give Stalkers better DPS in teams than Scrappers and Brutes? They'd crit more often normally even in a duo, and against bosses and such when in a team of 5 and up... No? Keep in mind I'm not a hardcore number cruncher or anything so I could very well be wrong.

  6. Well, as demonstrated by the wedding pack, paid-for extras seem to be a good idea. Especially if it's something innocent like this that doesn't affect actual gameplay. More money for the devs for more content for us!

    Same problem with my mez resist toggle on my /Elec Brute. Icon disappears, though the buffs are still in effect.
  9. Huh, that's odd, I always heard its AoE damage is second only to Fire Blast.
  10. I'm just curious. On paper the SoA look real squishy - a passive resistance buff, a (PBAoE) +def toggle. Both have fairly low numbers, though you can obviously stack the toggle from many SoA.

    In-game, Bane Spiders are like frikkin' Tankers. And Crab Spiders aren't too bad at taking hits either, compared to other enemies. Hell, look at the suits they wear!

    Seriously though, reading the test server comments it seems Banes play like Dominators without the control primary. A mix of ranged and melee attacks, but virtually no defensive abilities (as far as melee is concerned), so if you decide to pull out that big fat mace you might as well save yourself the trouble and hit yourself in the head with it. Oh, and their Placate got nerfed with no buff to counter it, because of PvP (afaik. I heard it was because people could reach 7 seconds recharge on it and just harass people in PvP.)

    When I heard the SoA were gonna be the VEATs, I figured Banes would be a mix of Scrapper + Stalker, having a lower crit modifier but having stealth and being able to stay in melee without dying horribly, too. And that Crabs would be something like ranged Tankers. Well, maybe not as tough as Tankers.

    Now from what I've read, Night Widows are the only actual ones with a taunt. Okay, I suppose.
    Crabs sound like they can take a hit or two.
    Banes sound like they're made of paper.

    (...and I'm not even sure yet how Fortunata are different from Mind/Psi Dominators with the Leadership pool powers.)

    So why did Arachnos armor start to suck? Longbow sabotage?
  11. Just a thought... Would it mess up your concept if you went Ice/Dark instead? The -Acc from Dark Melee would synergize with the +Def-oriented Ice Armor set.

    Just a thought, mind you.

  13. What and why would be your choice for a Stalker secondary? I see pretty much only EM around in zones, but the secondaries vary, with the notable exception of DA and EA (which are nowhere to be seen).

    Well I'll be making a Fire Melee Scrapper in any case. Can't decide whether I want to frustrate myself gameplay wise and pick Super Reflexes as a secondary for concept or just go for Willpower. Bleh.
    Never been a big fan of Fiery Aura, although as every single half-serious PvP toon has Acrobatics and/or a KB IO anyway I imagine Broadsword/Fiery Aura could become rather popular because of the lolheal and Fiery Embrace + Build Up + lolHeadSplitter.

  21. Regen on Brutes would be broken because of higher base health than Scrappers/Stalkers as far as I know. Same reason why Tankers don't have it.

    SR could pass as feral instincts for all you werewolf-type brutes out there.

    You don't have to take the damage for Fury, you gain Fury from dodging attacks too.

    One of the things that might feel a bit icky is the fact that this is going to be the second Brute secondary with no taunt aura.
