  1. On the topic of obscure IO icons, what does a rock with a rainbow over it have to do with Ragnarok ?
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I've run all four task forces in the SS, and none have taken more than one evening (standard TF time, I feel). Yes, they are long. There's a lot of running around - but they are DIFFERENT to your standard TFs which are just 'train to here', 'enter this building next door'. I like how they are, and again believe that more people need to take part in them before they get changed. Besides, if the merits are high, then it's worth being long. If you want to run a Tf that doesn't take as long...well, there are plenty to choose from. Hell, there are even flashbacks. Crank up the settings / criteria / difficulty, and a story arc becomes a TF (usually with a better plot). Badges and merits a-go-go. Flahbacks are almost like 'make your own Task Force'

[/ QUOTE ]Huh. I bet you like the Positron Task Force just as it is too, then.
    [ QUOTE ]
    This isn't Stargate. Sorry.

[/ QUOTE ]Hey, if I enter a strange new world through a technological portal, and the first NPC I talk to is named freaking 'General Hammond' of all things...
And Kheldians are pretty much Goa'ulds as it is, though they have no connection to the Shard.
    [ QUOTE ]
How about This Guy as a shadow shard GM ? I don't think i've ever seen him in game and it would tie nicely into the midnighters.

[/ QUOTE ]Considering Rularuu is pretty much stronger than a god from what I recall from game lore, he'd need to at least match Hamidon in power if his true form were ever made fightable (not counting hitbox issues here).

Technically you could fight him in the CoP as an AV, but that was an 'aspect' of him or something, and a lot smaller.
  3. I'd hope they're cross-region, myself.

(And the Mission Architect still needs a new acronym, though adding 'the' in front of 'MA' helps avoid some confusion..)
  4. This is amusingly close to Energy Blast, only without the partial energy damage.
  5. * Fix and bring back the Cathedral of Pain and Items of Power. Apparently easier said than done.
    * Open the Shard to Villains.
    * Revamp the zones. Leave Firebase Zulu a Hero-only zone. Turn one of the zones Villain-only. Turn one of the zones into a co-op zone like Cimerora and the Rikti Warzone. Turn one of the zones into a PvP Zone, including the jump geysers for random fun. (Also, keep working on PvP to make it more popular.) Add clones of the Hero-side Task Forces that they would lose access to because of this to Firebase Zulu, or the co-op zone. Create new and shiny alternatives for Villains, based around seizing portions of Rularuu's power or something.
    * Add some arcs. Repeatables get dull so fast.
    * Add more Stargate references and tributes.
    * Trim the Task Forces down a bit, make them more interesting. Nobody wants to do Defeat-All or Hunt missions for two days for Doc Q's Task Force, unless 90 merits is really attractive to them, or they want the badge. Shorten them, add new and exciting AVs.
    * Add an Accolade for completing all Shadow Shard Task Forces -and- getting the Visionary badge. This Accolade should also unlock a funky Rularuu Armor costume set with awesome animated eyes on the shoulderpads, and maybe in the middle of the breast plate. And maybe on the gauntlets and kneepads. Everyone loves tintable animated eyeballs. Especially if there'd be a helmet with a huge eyeball in place of a visor for a nice cycloptic look.
    * Add more... stuff in general. Poor suggestion line there, but the place is huge; there's got to be some zone events, GMs, anything you could put there to make the place more attractive. With Darrin Wade's arc foreshadowing the return of Rularuu, and telling of a Rularuu-worshiping cult in existence, you could focus the events of a new Issue in a revamped Shadow Shard. The place is really well designed and the concept is interesting, the only problem at the moment is that there's no real reason to go there, because it's almost void of actual content.
    * Needs more Stargate references.
  6. On the subject of animations for Dual Pistols, anyone know how I could get a demorecord onto YouTube? Tried recording an .avi file with Fraps and then uploading that, but it failed every time despite being roughly 3 seconds of video, 63 mb large.

Two sappers at once is dangerous for almost everyone

[/ QUOTE ]And some people say bad things about Electric Armor.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Proc: gets less effective by going down, but might still fire so long as you use the power it is in.

[/ QUOTE ]Correct. But the only reason they scale up and down is so proportional damage remains appropriate for your combat level, just like how your attacks deal less damage at level 1 than they do at level 50.
    [ QUOTE ]
Global: gives flat buff to character, no effect if you exemplar so far you lose the power

[/ QUOTE ]Not quite. You don't need to have the power, they work like set bonuses. You lose the effect if you exemplar lower than 3 levels below the level of the IO in question. Get them as low-level as possible when buying them.
    [ QUOTE ]
(200s)Buff: less effective by exemplaring, but active so long as you have the slotted power active

[/ QUOTE ]Almost. They do not scale with level, they're always equally powerful. You just need to have the power active they're slotted in. Technically these are 'procs' too, sort of, they just have a 100% chance to proc when the power is used, and grant the user a 200 second buff. These include the 3 Healing set uniques, and the Kismet +6% ToHit unique.
  9. Procs do less damage as you exemplar down, but they never stop functioning completely, unlike other special IOs (not counting 200 second buff ones like the Stealth and Healing Set uniques)

    no blinds

    [ QUOTE ]
Fact is if blind invites annoyed you that much you'd change the flag to red.

[/ QUOTE ]If it's okay for you to expect this tiny bit of extra effort from us, then it's also okay for us to expect the tiny bit of extra effort of sending a tell in advance from you. Works both ways like that, unless you're a hypocrite.

    And think of the teleporters!
  11. An automatic team-searching tool would be a godsend.
  12. Heh, you sure? I could've sworn any powers with enhanceable +Res are flagged to ignore buffs.
  13. At higher levels, a REAL Fire^3 Blaster makes Rise of the Phoenix part of his/her attack chain.
  14. Col_Blitzkrieger

    no blinds

Oh yes, goddamnit, you reminded me. I keep dropping to the ground from a mile's height on my Warshade because of blind invites frustratingly often.

Don't be inconsiderate - think of the Teleporters!

    no blinds

    [ QUOTE ]
Whenever I get a blind invite (and I am always flagged as 'Not Looking For Team'), I know the person who sent it is lazy and arrogant and refuse it. After all, if they can't take 30 seconds to let me know they are doing 'x-level missions, in x-zone', why should I waste my time and spoil my fun, to join a team only to find out it's a boring farming one?

[/ QUOTE ]This, for reasons already stated, most of all for the sake of being respectful of the person you're inviting. It's no better than blind Supergroup invites (which can luckily be disabled and set to 'disabled' by default without hampering gameplay).

Besides, as there's different stuff to do in this game, people want to know just -what- you're inviting them to. Four out of five times I'l accept a blind when I'm set to LFT, but one out of three times it ends up being a freaking farm or something else I'm completely not interested in.
And no, writing 'No farms' in the LFT message does not make a difference, as blind inviters apparently don't read those anyway (proven as I had 'No blinds' as my message for a long time, to no effect).
  16. There was never a badge for either side for defeating rogue Vanguard.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Try doing it again and you can't. With Zombies you can.

    [/ QUOTE ]Can too.
  18. Awh, and Reformed makes SUCH a perfect title for Warshades..
  19. Oh, that. That's only ever happened to me on the Lord Recluse Strike Force; but then it sounded like a bug specific to that mission to me at the time, based on peoples' comments.
  20. 1) lol Heroes

    2) lol Heroes

    3) Never had issues with hostages and elevators. What's wrong with them?
  21. Oh yeah. They really ought to park some Police Drones at the Galaxy Girl statue, huh. Or an instakill field like the markets have.
  22. Examples:
Peacebringers are Natural Kheldians. Natural here meaning perfectly normal alien compared to fellow members of its race, not 'unpowered human'.
Warshades are Science Origin Kheldians, who have modified themselves to siphon the life out of regular Kheldians to increase their own lifespan..
A Rikti Magus is a Magic Origin alien (dur, it casts spells) - though, as a Rikti, not a space alien, but a dimensional alien. I guess they're close enough to count.
The Rikti Four Horsemen are Science Origin aliens, again, due to accidental genetic modification when they entered our world through their portal. And/or Technology, arguably, as they're piloting Assault Suits.

Can't think of an in-game example of a mutant alien off the top of my head.
  23. If an alien can do things that seem supernatural to humans, but every other member of his race could do, he's Natural.

    Superman is Natural.

[Edit] As a matter of fact, I think this is specifically mentioned under the Natural Origin in-game description.

    [ QUOTE ]
If they were to move the events like zombie and rikti to another location i feel it would completely ruin the point of them especially the rikti one its tied into the game lore and the gaming world.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quite true. Not arguing. Just saying I, personally, don't need any more two-week long events where normal activity is massively disrupted.

[/ QUOTE ]Exaggeration much? I mostly ignored the last Rikti event; largely because I only realized it was a Rikti event sometime halfway through it, when people on my chat channel brought it up. You spend the majority of the game doing instances, and the Rikti don't follow you into those to bother you.

Yeah, I don't have the zone event alert on, usually. But really, what were you doing that the Rikti event "massively disrupted", farming the Numina Task Force?
