Still doesn't matter. What he calls an accomplishment, I and others did in the past, and we still got nerfed. Not saying he isn't allowed to post but I'm also allowed to voice my opinions and if you think it's rant, I can't stop such close-mindedness. Please then let me see you argue for 'accomplishments' pre-ED in the Balance Vision thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So, you're not saying he doesn't have the right to post about something cool, but you are reserving the right to sour it by dragging in your own historical nerf baggage from some other thread.

Oh, and I'm closed-minded for not realizing this.

Well, as long as we're all on the same page.

So posting about it doesn't mean they are actually doing it or posting about it still makes it ok? Min/maxer is a min/maxer whether they post about it or not.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    What are you talking about?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just responding in kind. What were you talking about then if I misunderstood?

    [/ QUOTE ]
"It doesn't make any difference if he talks about it or not since the devs can see everything from their third person omniscient perspective anyway so maybe people can let him share something he thought was cool without paranoid nerf ranting."

    <QR>

Well, I certainly hope the Devs look at him as the exception not the rule. I have yet to solo any AVs on any of my ATs even with a Shivan(just EBs). And I didn't do any soloing of AVs before ED either. Thanks for the nerfs min/maxers and thanks for always bringing attention to your "accomplishments" to the devs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    QFT ... My point exactly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The devs aren't that stupid. People should be able to post whatever the hell the want here regarding things they've accomplished legitimately in the game. I personally find it funny and little bit sad that people think they can somehow hide success from the devs to protect their characters from nerfs. And I really dislike the attitude you and the other poster put forward laying the blame for nerfs at the feet of other players. That type of posting is why people fight so much on here. It's not true and it just fans flames. If things are overpowered, they'll get nerfed regardless of people posting about what they did with the powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, ok. How controller's could perma-hold solo. How tanks could herd 80 wolves. How blasters could one-shot a mob with their alpha. How people could solo an AV and we were told they were not to be soloed thus we got EBs. All legitimately. Please clarify legitimate because many things were legitimate at one point yet still got nerfed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Because the devs have extensive data mining tools that allow them to analyze game information directly to determine all by their lonesomes how things are performing in their game?

We can't all just go SHHHHHHHHHHH! and then the devs w1lL NEVAR knoez!!!!1!!!1!heeheehee!!11!!1! That ain't how it works.

And he wasn't bragging about soloing it at ALL. He was pointing out the huge amount of experience he gained. There's a difference.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you don't have an issue with the fact that when people come out here and brag about ANYTHING in this game ... Stuff gets nerfed ???

He's bragging about leveling really fast and getting MAD EXPZ !!!

Double experience weekends ??? We'll be lucky if we end up with HALF experience FOREVER !!!

Or have you forgotten this is City of Nerfs (with a VERY occasional buff).

    [/ QUOTE ]
    You are such a buzzkill.
  6. How is that going to work with Twilight Grasp, I wonder?

    "Moral Combat"

I'm pretty sure I bought God of War at Best Buy.
  8. Did anyone put this in the trivia thread? 'Cause they should.
  9. I don't know if anybody has mentioned this one, but Doc Delilah in the new Faultline is obviously a joke on Marvel's Doc Samson.
  10. Speaking personally, I'm fine with two updates a year as long as they're good updates. I'm just happy to be looking forward to them again instead of dreading them as per the I4-I6 time period.

The storyline for me. I like the feeling that my charecter is part of an epic story.

    [/ QUOTE ]
See, I'm the opposite. Even as an old-school comics nerd who loved story-driven games like Fallout, I am barely conscious of the fact this game has storylines because of the way they're not integrated into the game. It is amazingly possible to go from 1 to 50 and have no idea at all what the major storylines of the game are.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Balance will never be found in this game. They should FIRST focus on arena, base raids, etc. Fixing the mechanics. Then try to get to balance later. I would say after I9's inventions. Trying to get balance now while that potentially pvp game breaking additon is right around the corner would be developer time managment suicide.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it just seems to me that less people would be receptive to changes meant to improve balance in a broken system. Fix the system first, get people using it, and then they'll have more support for balance changes when they happen.

We have more to complain about than badgers do. We also have to come up wtih 100% more workarounds than badgers do.

    [/ QUOTE ]
In point of fact, a great number of the threads in the Badges forum revolve around how to game the system to work around a high or difficult to meet badge requirement by doing silly things like damage farming.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Putting -neg regen into posion gas arrow would be fitting to make it valuable. I would also agree that putting -regen in acid arrow would be overpowering to an extent. I think if they took away the to hit check for posion gass arrow then added the neg regen it would be a lot more balanced to sets like rad who get their 2 major debuffs on auto hit. To compensate the end cost needs to be uped a bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
My Poison Gas Arrow is autohit. Plus, I quite like it since it already has, AFAIK, a 30% damage debuff component.

I love Amish's idea for a range debuff in Flash Arrow. That's a great idea to add in an underused debuff to make a valuable and interesting effect.

Also, someone was mentioning that Trick Arrow needs a -regen power, but for the record EMP Arrow is a very large, unresistable regen debuff. It can't be made perma, o'course, but it is there.

Wait a second... the arena building has an inside? Does anyone else know about this?

I use its store during TF/SFs and Trials and such. I don't know if that counts.

  20. Originally, but they did adopt the toon moniker in later shows. "We're tiny, we're toony, we're all a little loony, and in this cartoony we're invading your TV..."
  21. I use 'guy' to refer to female characters all the time.

Leftover from the 'extra guy' era of gaming.

Not familiar with the power Blizzard, but then again I don't have any characters with Ice powers either. I could see calling Nova a nuke, though

    [/ QUOTE ]
Bah, if any of them should rightly be called a nuke, it would be this one.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I was simply pointing out it's not the addition of such terms to the vernacular, but rather it's inaccuracy that bothers people.

    [/ QUOTE ]
People call Blizzard a "nuke", but I don't hear anyone jumping on the glaring technical inaccuracy of calling a snowstorm an atomic explosion, since we all know what the word means locally...
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Meh, toon is fine, it all means the same. I'll use whatever word I feel like using. /shrug

Amen. There's so much flat-out snobbery in this thread I keep wondering when Thurston Howell is going to wander in.

Click_Beetle was at least the second person in the thread to make that joke. Don't inflate his ego any MORE.

    Don't worry. It's not possible.
