Not sure what you mean here, Incarnate powers are completely unaffected by recharge. No matter how much recharge you have, Ageless will never recharge even a second faster.

But....Tier 4 Ageless has a 120 second duration and a 120 second recharge time, so it basically is permanent minus casting time. So, you have about a 2 second down time on it that is unavoidable.
  2. Could try slotting Devastation: Chance for Hold in Spectral Wounds.

That's not the funniest part of the story.

The team I was kicked from had THREE Empathy defenders on it......

The leader was a tank and was demanding that ALL THREE Empaths do NOTHING but spam Heal Other on him.

Before he booted me he booted one of his precious healers for attacking ONCE.

I warned everyone I knew not to team with that jacktard. As far as I'm aware he ragequit once the majority of the regulars on the server refused to team with him anymore. He didn't view other players as actually being other players, everyone existed for the sole purpose of buffing HIM.

I still shake my head when I think about that guy.

It's also amazing how often your sarcasm fails to register when you tell the Empath who is following the tank rockin' the aura: "Nice heals".

    Truth.

My /Regen scrapper was once kicked from a team for not healing other people.

I had heals and I wasn't sharing them. Wasn't that rude of me?

It's nice to have options of course, but I wouldn't be thinking they are going to suddenly become cheap or plentiful if I were you.
This is why I didn't get excited.

They are still going to be insanely expensive, regardless of the currency used to purchase them. If they were cheap and easy to obtain, they wouldn't be Very Rare IOs.

If it's not too bad I might save up some to pick up the Armageddon Chance for Fire Damage proc, but that's about it (I don't use purples, because the bonuses they give aren't especially useful to most of my builds)

I've been having no trouble at all finding teams to do other stuff.

Truth be told, people on my server are getting bored with the Incarnate trials. It's easier to put together a TFC TF than it is a BAF or Lambda right now.

It will pop up in that character's email the second you send it, since it's a global email it will be claimable by any character on that account.

Try emailing something to your global and then switching characters, it should be in the other character's email.

If it's not in the second character's email, you'll probably have to contact Support as there isn't anything us other players can do to help.

At least with a nuke or something like Unstoppable you can time a use of an Endurance Inspiration/Ageless Destiny to get back in the fight right away. Hibernate is a self Hold.

Hoo boy, I remember when nukes and T9's like Unstoppable would have a long-duration stun along with the crash too. So glad that excessive component was removed.
If scrappers got Ice Armor, they wouldn't be getting Hibernate in it. It's in Leviathan Mastery and the devs A) aren't going to let use take it twice, and B) aren't going to take it away from people who already have it.

So any Ice Armor port to scrappers will have a new tier 9.
  10. On another note. If scrappers ge Ice Armor, it's going to lose Hibernate in the version they get.

It's available in Scrapper Leviathan Mastery, and the devs aren't going to take it away from people who may already have it in their build.

Not a deal breaker, but it's a safe bet Hibernate won't be a part of Scrapper Ice Armor.

Yes, new content announced SINCE NOVEMBER has revolved around Incarnate content.

Why? Because it's the newest thing they have introduced and it is NOT DONE YET.

November to June is 7 months.

April 2004 to June 2011 is 86 months.

People are complaining that 7 months out of 86 have been spent on something they are not thrilled about. And furthermore, they are demanding that they be given what they want now, instead of what the game has been focused on.

There have been many threats of ragequitting, and in general people have been absolute jacktards because the devs DARED to spend a WHOLE 7 MONTHS on something other than what THEY want.

Not sure if you're aware of this or not, but that is pretty much the definition of the term "self-entitlement".

Would you be happy if the "end game" was EXACTLY the same as everything else that has ever been introduced to the game for 7 years? Do you want more TFs that can be reduced to "get through the map as fast as possible, tank and spank the end boss, collect rewards"?

If the end game is no different than what came before it, does it really deserve to be CALLED an end game? Or is it just more of the exact same stuff we've been doing for 7 years now?

You know why I don't really like the band AC/DC that much? It's because every single song they've ever written would not sound out of place on any other album they've ever released. When I hear AC/DC on the radio, I can't tell if it's a new song, or a song written 30 years ago. I don't ever want to ask the question "Is this a NEW TF, or has it been in the game for 7 years?" when it comes to CoHs content.

This may come as a shock, but when a game reaches a certain age, it starts to get VERY stale if nothing new is ever introduced to it. If this game were the same game in every way that I first logged into 5 years ago, I am sure I would have gotten bored and moved on by now.

So, why are so many people of the opinion that changing ANYTHING is a bad thing? Do this many people really WANT CoH to never ever ever offer ANY kind of NEW gameplay experiences?

    That's news to me.

Wow, that's going to SUCK for those people who don't have a level 50, or might want to play something that isn't level 50.

The way you're talking here, NOTHING in the game other than Incarnate stuff is considered viable content anymore. So, that Posi TF I ran last night is no longer content? The Hollows arc I just finished up isn't content either? I can't go do the Freaklympics because it isn't content?

Do you READ what you type?

    Yes.

Machine guns debuff defense, and there are a LOT of machine guns in the game.

On a set that relies a lot on defense, keeping that defense there will go farther toward keeping you alive than a once every 4 minutes "Oh crap!" power.

Also worth noting: If you take One with the Shield instead, you will most often find yourself using it because your defense got debuffed into the dirt. So if the only time you ever use it would be a result of not taking the other power, wouldn't it make more sense to just take the other power instead?

For scrappers, the power description for Concentrated Strike explicitly states that critical hits will recharge the Power Siphon. For tankers, there is no such statement.

It appears that a note needs to be added to ParagonWiki, which doesn't clarify the difference.

    -Johnny
Stalkers get Build Up auto-recharged when Concentrated Strike crits as well. Tanks and brutes don't get anything special out of it.

I've played around with it on my DA/Ice tank, and if you go with the palest gray tone you can use it does a passable impersonation of a steam cloud.

If you use the right aura you can get a very convincing steam powered DA scrapper going.

Although if you're spitting out that much steam at all times it's a safe bet you're malfunctioning somehow.....

    Try Synapse or Black Scorpion.

It's a new system, though. So hopefully the Devs get it out of their own system sooner, rather than later.
I think it has more to do with the fact that they can't do everything Incarnate related all at once, and they looked at it like "Okay, we have several things we can do, what does this game NOT have yet that we can throw in there first?"

We have solo content, we have Task Forces, we didn't really have any multiple team stuff that isn't as time consuming as Hamidon or the ship raid, so that was the first thing they worked on.

I'm not expecting the incarnate trials to be the ONLY Incarnate content we ever get, but I am expecting the devs to work on them first, simply because it is something new to the game.

My complaint with the people who are griping that we don't have solo incarnate content yet is based in the fact that it really has not been all that long since the incarnate trials were introduced. Going Rogue has only been live since August, and the incarnate trials have only been live since February. In the grand scheme of things, that is not that long.

All I can really say is try the trials out for yourself and see what you think of them. I was apprehensive about them myself, after hearing horror stories of what raids are like in other games. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they are NOTHING like what I heard a raid was like. They take 30-45 minutes, tops. And unlike raids in other games, where if you fail you wasted 5 hours for nothing, you can still get rewards even though you failed it, so a failed trial isn't a complete waste of time. They are MUCH more casual than any raid I've ever heard of in other games.

Paragon hasn't lost touch with what made their game successful. They made these trials as casual as they possibly CAN make them. It's not "hardcore raiding" it's "raiding, CoH style"

Above all else: Don't be in a hurry to get your characters to tier 4 right NOW. If you take your time with it and do the trials when you feel like doing them, instead of grinding them out of impatience to get the next piece, you will have a lot more fun with them. I do maybe 2-3 trials a week, if that, and I'm still having a blast with them, simply because I'm not sitting there running them over and over and over and over.

That's a large part of why people are upset about them, they rushed to get all their characters all the way slotted up and burned themselves out on the trials.

Unfortunately, that is only for scrappers.

The auto recharge of Power Siphon is the effect it gets out of a crit instead of double damage.

I don't think tanks get that benefit.

Cloak of Fear is only worth taking if you have the slots to spare to heavily invest in it. If you can only devote 2 or 3 slots to it, it isn't really worth taking.

My general rule on Cloak of Fear is: Either take it and put at least 5 slots in it, or skip it entirely. CoF needs a lot of accuracy slotting and a good amount of end reduction slotting as well. If you can't put enough of those things in it due to slot shortage, it's not worth taking in my opinion.

(Caveat: If you go with Cardiac for your Alpha, you might be able to get away with fewer slots, but that doesn't help you when you're leveling)
  23. PvP with an SR brute will be an exercise in frustration, couple reasons for that:

    1) You need to be able to constantly attack to keep your fury (and thus your damage) up, and that is difficult with a melee character with everyone leaping all over the place.

    2) Any PvPer worth their salt is going to have accuracy and to-hit buffs up the wazoo. Unless you practically live in Elude, you will find people will frequently wail on you like your secondary doesn't even exist.

Defense based secondaries kind of suck in PvP, simply because everyone and their grandma builds to counteract them.

You can try it if you like, but I have a strong feeling you will be disappointed if you do.

(I have a DM/SR brute myself, and the few times I took him into a PvP zone....well, it wasn't pretty)

Kind of snarky, but it's a good point.

Reactive is not the ONLY Interface slot there is. There are 3 other trees, and another option in Reactive that lacks the DoT portion (it turns the -resistance into a 100% chance).

Basically, you CHOSE to put Reactive in your Interface slot, presumably knowing what effect a DoT would have on your sleep powers.

Thus, you are presented with a choice 1) Keep your DoT and lose the benefit of sleep powers, or 2) pick a different Interface and keep the sleeps useful.

There are what, 4-5 sleep powers in the game that deal damage? Why should only those few powers be exempt from something that is supposed to affect all of your powers equally?

And for the record, I'm pretty sure that by "most damaging powers" they mean that temp powers and vet reward powers don't trigger it, but any power within a primary, secondary, or power pool will.

It affects me as well, I have a Sonic/Devices blaster that makes frequent use of Siren's Song. I'm forced to choose between the sleep and the DoT just like anyone else. I haven't gotten Interface unlocked yet on him, but I can tell you what I'm NOT going to do: Come to the forums to complain and expect the devs to make a change because I don't get to have my sleep powers and extra damage at the same time. Because that would be having my cake and eating it too.
