Is there any archetype that shouldn't be spending it's time making things dead so you can get those tasty little bunches of reward?
-

It appears that a greater number of players want more trials. Also I'm sure there are a group of players that want mounts, Hawaiian shirts and pvp, and they may be a larger group as well.
-
What would be a reasonable ratio of time?
And has there been a consensus of how long it takes to run trials to get to tier 3? -
How about the disintegrate target simply type something to indicate that they and the whole team are in trouble?

I fairly certain that much like access to purple recipes and PVP IO's has become easier, obtaining incarnate rewards will become easier in the future.
I'm also certain that the change will not happen fast enough for some people. -
Could some of the unreasonable time it takes to unlock a tier 4 solo be because the dev's don't see getting tier 4's solo as a reasonable goal?
I was pretty sure converting a thread to iXP was about 2.5%, so it takes 35ish to unlock a slot, and 60 to slot something in it. That's still a lot of time to unlock that solo, but if we take unlocking the higher tiers off the table as a reasonable goal (not saying it is or isn't, I'm not a Dev, just posting an idea) and go with simply slotting something as a goal.
The total time becomes much less, around 10 days(30ish hours) per slot.
I'm not arguing one way or the other, just presenting an alternate idea of what could be considered reasonable. -
You have room for 3 more LoTG's, so you could grab the concealment pool. Taunt and power surge arent bad with just one slot in them, could put them in. Maneuvers and Veng as LoTG's set mules, and assault with just a end reduction.

I have a ss/fire and ss/elec brute, and for the Lamb and BAF the Electric Armor seems much stronger. Elec is strong against energy attacks, which there are a ton of, and solid against psi and lethal, has stronger KB (which isnt a huge issue for fire, but still) and against end drain. My ss/elec is built solely for recharge, and I pop power surge quite a bit when its up. Ageless helps a lot with the crash. Elec is also solid against Anti-mater in the trials, though sometimes healing against the pulses can be a little tight. If you have a claws/elec I would at least try it on the trials, it should be pretty good.

Having played another game with a f2p/subscription model, I can tell you one of the advantages of a VIP only server will be that everyone can do all the stuff that you can do. As f2p, premium and VIP players will all have different access to arcs (and maybe even zones?) not having to determine who can do what may be helpful.

On my last Keyes run I got targeted for disintegration twice, both times typed 'heal me', got healed, and went on my merry way. It simply requires a little bit of awareness, and fingers to type with.
-
Yeah, I've been leaning towards that, and it would be cool to have a real tank that I liked. Now to just convince myself not to make another brute or scrapper
-
That seems so unlike you to mention that. Are you feeling alright?
I have been looking at DA and maybe KM as a pairing, I'm just worried it will end up feeling patched together, or some of the longer attacks with mess with dark regen. -
So I have a fire/shield scrap, a ss/elec and ss/fire brute, and fire/kin corr and troller, and a fire/traps corr. I'm looking for another steamroller. I'm leaning away from trollers and MM and EAT's, with the new system (not saying I wont keep paying, just saying I might not).
So shout out your favorite Blazing Pile of Destruction. -
I'm looking to make a toon to flashback and run some of the arc's that I've not done before. With xp flowing so fast it seems like just leveling to 50 and then flashing back to what you missed might be easier then trying to hit all the stuff on the way up. I'm wondering what sets would be solid for that task. Figure I want two sets that are frontloaded, where you get most of what you want in the first 15ish levels. I also figure mostly to be soloing, so less of a real need for AOE's.
I was looking at mind(troller or dom) as a primary, its pretty frontloaded, and you can sneak two cheap purple sets in there. Was looking a little at Electric Assault for a secondary, two big hits early on. Was also looking at Rad as a secondary as well.
Figure a claws/regen scrap would be fairly frontloaded.
Fire blast is really frontloaded, but not sure what would be a solid pairing, lot of choices.
Plant is nice early on, but more AOE focused then I think I need.
Was thinking about a Kheld too.
So just looking for advice. -
Another vote for traps, it has slow/hold fields for the escapee phase, and debuffs for the AV's for the BAF. Seeker drones and poison gas weaken the groups around the objects making them easy to remove in the Lamb. And you can grab a rain power from your primary, which is more slow/damage field.

It seems like people think I'm neglecting control in this build. I think I'm misunderstanding somehow. I took all the control powers, and am able to keep up an almost seemless chain of confuse/blind, I can keep PA out perma'd, and spectral terror recharges in under 12 seconds. So whats the control part that I'm missing?
-
Adrenaline boost is perma on my build, and fort recharges in 16.5 seconds, do you really think I should put more recharge in them?
-
I have a SS/elec, and barrier, of course, is very good. But there will be times that you aren't really being challenged, and barrier is a waste for those times. I grabbed Ageless, and really like it, +rech is really nice, and the +end gets you going quickly after power surge crashes, +debuff I dont really notice, but +recovery would be a bit silly on a Elec Armor.

Quote:It was a bummer to drop spectral wounds, but it became harder and harder to fit. I have 5 6.25 rec sets, so adding another decimation wouldn't help and I'd probably be taking the slots from heal other, which would lose me a 5% set. Also its not like this toon wont be able to bring a lot of damage to bear with all the pets, so I picked what I thought was the lesser of two evils.I can help on the Illusion side. Please note that I view this as a controller, not a healer with control powers. As an Illusion controller first, you can do a lot to prevent damage before it needs healing.
No Spectral Wounds: You are giving up the ability to do decent damage and take down foes fairly quickly. To me, this is the same as those "pure empathy" defenders who don't take their attacks . . . a waste of a large part of the benefit you could be providing to the team. With SW, you can contribute to taking down foes and solo; without it, you have a gimped build. SW is going to need 5 slots usually, for the Decimation set to add more Recharge.
Quote:Blind: the Lockdown proc isn't a good use of a slot. It gives a 15% chance for an extra 2 mag, so it will only work on bosses. 20% of those bosses will be held by Blind anyway (that "overpower" you see). So that proc is only effective on 15%x80%x(percent of bosses). Assuming Bosses are about 20% of foes (which is probably high), it ends up that the proc only has an effect on 2.4% of all foes. Replace that proc with an Acc/Dam Hami-O (or an Acc/Dam from a set if you don't want to get the Hami-O) and you will hit more often and cause damage to 100% of the foes hit.
Quote:Flash has a 20% accuracy penalty. See if you can get a 5th slot for an Acc/Hold/Rech or just more accuracy.
Quote:Phantom Army: Drop the Dam/End for the Acc/Rech, then trade out the two Rech commons for the Soulbound Dam/Rech and Chance for Build Up. You get capped Damage and Recharge, a damage buff from the build up (which triggers often with three pets) and a 16% Regen bonus. The purple pet IOs are usually fairly inexpensive.
Quote:No Invisibility. I see you have Superspeed with a Stealth IO at level 49 . . . which is OK if you never exemp. One of the strengths of an Illusion controller comes from its invisibility -- you can lead your pets into battle without being seen. You can Deceive tough foes before the fight begins. I have always felt one of the main benefits of Ill/Emp is the ability to run around the battlefield invisible, pulling foes off teammates with Deceive and Phantom Army while healing/buffing teammates. Recall Friend lets you act as team spy, stealting missions. If you find a glowie, you can handle it by deceiving that foe or two near it, or even sending out PA to draw aggro away while you click the glowie in safety. It makes you much more useful to the team.
Quote:On the APP choice, I prefer Ice and Fire for the quick single target blast. Blind-SW-Blast-SW lets you take down minions and lieuts fast, before the Illusory damage fades back. This increases your damage substantially. Ice gives you a Defense armor if you want, and Hibernate, an awesome "panic button" power to save yourself so you can save your teammates.
I'm not trying to create a pure healing toon, that is pointless and would be boring, I'm trying to create someone who can add to the team, but is able to fire and forget some of his powers. Masterminds pets can sometimes require a lot of attention, so I'm trying to simulate a MM with tougher (Phantom Army) pets. -
Cool, I really wanted AB to power folks through -end crashes, and was unsure how much I needed, so thanks. And thanks for catching my rookie mistake on the rez. With Absorb pain one slotted, does it make more sense to throw a heal in there, then the recharge thats in it right now?

What about an Archery/rad corr/fender. Lot of bow options that look magical, and can still color rad to look like pixie dust. Maybe could do some coloring stuff with dark miasma for pixie dust as well. And if you squint a lot I guess you could make pain dom look pixie-ish but that might lead to eye strain.
