Updating my Elec/Elec
Added a bit of s/l and recharge, lost a bit of regen which I don't think you'll miss. I was tempted to pull a slot from stamina for more recharge in build up so it's up as often as lightning rod. Also put a -kb io in fly to cover 'splash kb' while you're jumping/repositioning. The pet is a bit underslotted in my build (another slot would fix it) and fences is not slotted as an attack. Mostly personal preference stuff, your build looks pretty good to me.

My elec/elec went ghost widow for gloom and darkest night. Plus, Dark obliteration is handy. I found that the single-target damage was very lacking and gloom did a lot to help that out on hard targets. Similarly, big fights the AoE -tohit from darkest night and dark oblit helped out quite a bit.
Now I made teh mistake of going melee def instead of s/l like you did so you're already significantly more survivable than mine is.

Ever since Soul Mastery got Darkest Night it's looked particularly compelling for Brutes, but this guy has to stay Mu Mastery for concept reasons (I know, I know...).
The current iteration of the plan is a hybrid of what I'd done initially and some of the ideas EJI put forward. S/L on this version is at about 33.6, up from the 30-point-something the first version had (every little bit helps). The key points of difference were that I left the slots in Health (I'm a chicken, I stick with what I know), left the 2 pieces of Lockdown in Power Surge for the Acc, and didn't up Tough to 4 slots.

Hey,
So one more thought on the topic of this guy. Any thoughts on which Destiny Invocation might work best? I'm really torn between Barrier Core (for that MOG-style defensive burst), Ageless Radial (debuff Resistance), or Rebirth Radial (yummy +Regen).

I have a SS/elec, and barrier, of course, is very good. But there will be times that you aren't really being challenged, and barrier is a waste for those times. I grabbed Ageless, and really like it, +rech is really nice, and the +end gets you going quickly after power surge crashes, +debuff I dont really notice, but +recovery would be a bit silly on a Elec Armor.
Yeah, if I went Ageless Core and took the +Recov, that would be carte blanche for anyone to slap me on principle.
I'm thinking I'll start with Ageless Radial and see how it goes. If I end up with implausible amounts of free time and spare Incarnate Components, I'll spin up Barrier and Rebirth, see how I like them on this guy.
I also just realized that Issue 7 launched five years ago yesterday. Happy Birthday, OhmWrecker! I'll have to take him on a Mayhem mission to celebrate, go steal something nice.

The +Regen won't be anything significant. Think about it in numbers. Say it pushes you up to 120hp/sec (which I don't think it does but I can't recall from the times I've had it on me) compared to your more normal 20-40hp/sec. net increase of 80-90/sec.
One hit can be worth 500 damage. In a big group you get hit a lot. Hell, against ACUs I've had DOT damage ticking off me in increments of 40s way more than 1 tick per second. No way is the +regen going to offset that. But the +Def will.
Especially against really nasty enemies.

Yeah, I see where you're going, but let me take baby steps out of old habits. Maybe that will appear in the next respec. Rome wasn't IO'ed in a day...

That harmonized healing piece is worth .5 hp/s over a numi heal/end- which would get you an extra 28 hp. Just a thought.

One of the things I've really been digging about the past 2-3 issues is that it's given me the impulse to blow the dust off some of my mothballed 50s and really give them a good look at how they can be made better.
Below is my Brute, or at least how I intend for him to look when I'm finished IO'ing him (this could be a while, I'm not the most intense marketeer). I know there are probably some things I could do to wring more efficiency out of him, but I would like to keep the powers I've got selected unless it's absolutely necessary.
As far as the Incarnate stuff, the Partial Core is where I want to end up, but this guy is so far behind the curve that right now all he's got is the T1 ability there, and nothing in the other slots (heck, the other ones aren't even unlocked yet).
Any advice anyone's got to offer would be greatly appreciated.
