Flashback Toon?

I'm looking to make a toon to flashback and run some of the arc's that I've not done before. With xp flowing so fast it seems like just leveling to 50 and then flashing back to what you missed might be easier then trying to hit all the stuff on the way up. I'm wondering what sets would be solid for that task. Figure I want two sets that are frontloaded, where you get most of what you want in the first 15ish levels. I also figure mostly to be soloing, so less of a real need for AOE's.

I was looking at mind(troller or dom) as a primary, its pretty frontloaded, and you can sneak two cheap purple sets in there. Was looking a little at Electric Assault for a secondary, two big hits early on. Was also looking at Rad as a secondary as well.

Figure a claws/regen scrap would be fairly frontloaded.

Fire blast is really frontloaded, but not sure what would be a solid pairing, lot of choices.

Plant is nice early on, but more AOE focused then I think I need.

Was thinking about a Kheld too.

So just looking for advice.

My ill/rad is pretty decent at flashbacks, even under the challenge settings.

Superior invis means you don't get targeted, and deceive lets you take out problem enemies. And you'll have PA available by level 13(+5) (though obviously not perma), which makes life easier.

I would guess some type of Brute. Claws/Willpower maybe?

Any archetype that can do the missions in the first place can flash back to those missions. The only thing you really need to be aware of is how you level the character up, when key powers are available and at what levels.
Given that you get powers that are up to five levels higher than you've been exemped down to, this gives you a degree of flexibility that you wouldn't have had if you'd done the missions at the appropriate level in the first place.

You are also better slotted when doing Flashbacks. I'm almost tempted to make a character then solo them via the flashback system and level them that way. Something for just doing the arcs just to do them, Ill/rad does wonders. Stealth to where you need to, complete it, and then move on. PA at 13 means you will have very little issue plowing through any content. Anything lower than that a more fully slotted out Ill/rad can still easily handle.

With three builds it's pretty easy to construct something specifically for this purpose. I have a claws/willpower for this and am building a peacebringer as well. 6-slot every power lower than level 25 just because you can adn the higher level ones are unnecessary. Use Alignment merits to get low-level sets and mule them in high-level powers that you'll never use. It's kind of fun actually.

But even after that, I find my dark/dark stalker is the one I enjoy the most.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

I think fire/dark corruptors are as stoked as any early builds.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

BS/SD Scrap could be good. Decent attacks early on and you can easily cap your Lethal and Melee defense with Parry.

A Rad/Fire Blaster could be a fun one to try out.

And of course there's Fire/Energy Blasters. Early access to aim/build up to help you destroy stuff before it can destroy you.

DM/Regen if you want to be on easy mode early on or DM/Shield if you wanna be god-tier when you're level 50.

Might try a Stalker, too.

Agree. The stun effects are very helpful too.

I'd add Fire/WP scrapper (especially if ever you decided to pick up 4-5 sets of Kinetic Combats), Sonic/Energy (take the cone Sleep and single-target stun powers from Sonic) and Ice/Rad corruptor.
