I rolled a Mind/Energy Dominator and was wondering if she'd be a solid soloer. I don't have a whole lot of experience with Dominators, but I've played a number of blasters.
I'm pretty set on Mind Control for the primary, but less set on Energy as the secondary, so if there's a better secondary for soloing, please advise.Good solo or team you have various ways to build it. I have the most fun with that combo

Well I have noticed something odd since i16 came live, the first mission of the RSF always appears really laggy for me and others. Just tossing this into the convo to ask if others have expirenced the samething.
The rest of the RSF is fine, but the first mission has been consistantly laggy for me no matter which character I play or which toon I play it with. However the rest of the game plays okay for me.
I try /unloadgfx but it doesn't help. -

In PvE if you have the PFF patron power having Power Boost also increases the defense to all, while you aid self while in it will get you back in the game. (I don't have PFF though but just saying)
On my other 50 permadoms Fire/Psy and Plant/Fire doms I also have a mid level fire/electric, that I can put out more AoE damage, but I just find my Mind/Nrg to be more fun with a lot of ST BURST I have not said "ITZ THE UBERS BEST!" However the set IS fun and you won't be sorry for taking it. /Energy is NOT a bad secondary by any stretch. To me if its the most fun then it is the best for what I do.. but I tend to PvP more with it now than before, also I run a number of MoRSFs with him. So to me he is the most fun out of the 4 doms I have, maybe because he was the first villain I ever made back in 2007? maybe cause he was the first redside 50 I had? or maybe because I spent over 2 bill on him easy pre-I10. Seeing the changes in i15 just made him better than he ever has been. What ever the reason, I love /energy assault now.
In regards to including power boost into the conversation, the answer is simple it was because it had not been mentioned before hand. And since the Op was only reffering to /Earth Assault and /energy assault they both have power boost and felt that talking about it would be worth while since the OP is primarily a brute and may not know the value of power boost.
I was just trying to stay on topic out of the 2 choices he put in the OP. Talking about /Psy or /Fire to me did not seem appriopiate to me since he was not asking about those sets.
My comment before and now were/are not meant to be snarky. From the impression I got reading the comments on it some of you may have felt that it was. So just wanted to be clear that it was not meant to be. -

You can't go wrong with /Energy it is a very hard hitting secondary.. Also... the side effect of the energy melee is that it also Stuns.. but the stuns are also affected by Domination too
(so does power boost + domination).
Go energy and you won't be sorry.. also dominator version of power push is a very high damaging attack. Other versions of this power with corruptors, blasters, defenders, are lower in damage. So keep that in mind too -

I've got a lot of global accuracy and I tend to use aim before DP... otherwise I'd probably add accuracy in it.yes Drain Psyche.

So how do you guys slot this power? Just asking so I can compare notes. This is for PvE of course
Seems like there many different ways to slot it, I see some folks slot it to ignore an end crash when they nuke, some others slot for +regen others are slotting for +recharge.
Which is the prefered method? -

I have a question. I have multiple lvl 50's of each of these power types. And I am looking to make more server room. My question here is, whats the difference between Cold vs Bubbles? Both give +defense buffs to folks but Cold dom can also grant +HP, -regen, -recovery, -damage debuffs, and return end as well as stealth +resistance to elementals.
Is there a need to keep the bubble toon? Or is there something I am missing/forgetting that would make bubbles more attractive than cold domination?
The same question has to be asked about Sonic vs Thermal. With my thermal toon I can buff with +resistance buffs just like the sonic toon, But it can also rez, heal, and grant -regen, -recovery, and -res -def debuffs. Where as sonic can only debuff resistance and defense.
Is there a need to keep the Sonic toon? Or is there something I am missing/forgetting that would make sonic more attractive to keep than a thermal would?
When I look in mids the single target buffs from thermal mirror the buffs from sonic. The same for Cold shields vs Bubbles.
The only key difference I see is that Bubbles and Sonic grant the caster mez protection with a bit of +def for bubbles and a bit of +res from Sonic.
I know its late and I am tired. But I like all of my Bubbles, Sonic, Thermal, and Cold dom toons (hero and villains). But the time has come to delete some of them to make new toons and I want to make sure I am in the right state of mind when comparing these toons. Its always a hard choice to delete some toons.

Rad/MM blaster from 22 to 36
Elec/SS tank from 27 to 36
Elec/Shield Scrapper from 27 to 36
Earth/Storm controller from 26 to 40
Sonic/Therm corruptor from 26 to 38
Sonic/Pain corruptor from 26 to 38
I was playing pretty casually, kinda shocked now that I look at it how many levels I got these last 4 days.
But the bright part was all the old faces I got to see again -

Slot your +res buffs and you will grant the team +24% resistance to stack with what they already have. (fire will be higher since both buffs have fire resisance in them)
If they have good resistance already then you will end up healing less.
Focus on the buffs and the debuffs when on team.
When your solo focus on the attacks and debuffs.
You have not hit 38 yet so you haven't expirenced the beauty of thermal completely late game.
Keep in mind, that most folks have patron shields post lvl 44 that will stack nicely with thermal buffs you might not think that in lowbie land currently. Because most squishies have nothing to stack with.
