Quote:THIS...Playing a new blaster, running 'real' contact missions (I swept past Atlas and picked up in Kings at level 6), selling everything for 1 inf. Hit level 11 last night, sitting on 500k inf. And this is with fighting nothing but skulls and lost the past few levels- I've had a belly full of stupid Boresights.
I haven't bought anything, haven't needed to. Slotting whatever trainings drop + 'beginners luck' = plenty of firepower to deal with stock content.
If you play 'normally' you're going to generate a TON more stuff than you'll use. Sell it, reap the rewards, then buy what you want. It's never been easier.
.
and some of this... my tank is at 46. Fully slotted, no purples but I want defense and resist, so purps don't really suit me... maybe later if i tinker w/ second build... but I'm sitting at 28 million with stuff to sell doing much the same as Goat did. I did story arcs (freakalympics ROCKS) and a few select TF's for roughly 360 merits, a few AE runs, and some ToT badging. I have a Numina +Reg/Rec that I bought cheap for under going prices by waiting 3 weeks on a bid.
By the time I hit 20, I was planning ahead for key IO pieces. I don't wait til I level to run to WW's. I have only one bid remaining to fill and I will be slotted at 50 when I get there. My influence is all extra gravy on top now... -
Quote:So after a few months away I ran some AE stories last night while waiting for the banner event to happen.
If you've been gone a while, chances are good that the arcs you used to run haven't been updated with the proper mix of bosses, LT's and minions... I generally run +1/ vs 6 solo. And I usually don't have a problem when the missions have been adjusted...
All boss or all LT probably won't drop a single ticket, and some of the old arcs are sitting there clogging up the system... -
Quote:THIS! I think this should be a global MoTD every morning...Letting the tank do his job. Don't throw immobs until he grabs aggro. Don't throw AOEs til he has aggro. It takes him 2 seconds to grab all of the aggro in a nice neat pile, so give him that courtesy.
Tanks letting their teammates do their jobs. Don't take a nicely placed mob and string them out 50 feet just because you feel like taunting. It is OK to jump in that pack. You have an entire team supporting you. Get in there and grab aggro and it will all be over soon. -
Quote:Agreed. Butler, receptionist, personal assistant, lab scientist, doctor... I would also think that if you could purchase the biggest plots you could have an expanded limit to base storage. Even 3 or 4 more additional storage units would be great, maybe something we have to earn through sg play?My biggest suggestion would be NPC's that could be purchased with prestiege that could actually do things in your base, such as giving missions to your sg members or protecting your base from raids from NPC's...
Perhaps even a TF earnable portal to Cimerora?
FWIW, YMMV, IMHO, See dealer for details... -
I would be happy with just being able to rename my pet like MM"s. My Imps, Bitey, Stabby & Grabby deserver their moment of fame.

Went on a spending spree just before 2xp to fill in some holes across my toons. All of my over all money toon-wise went from about 600 mill to just about 24 million. I then took my 3 best earners and ran my usual haunts & some TF's. I crafted my drops and put away to sell for 2xp weekend, starting about 2 weeks in advance. I brought in 750 million over 4 toons as of this morning... Nothing overpriced, well under average price of what has been selling... Nothing started moving until Saturday and then it sold like mad.
Got burned on an expensive purple that might not sell since the purple market fell... listed it around going rate just before the supply increased... The only 50+ million thing I had that didn't move... Kudos to whomever got Iron salvage to go for 1 Million each...
Best mover was my scrapper. His war chest before 2xp was under 5 mil. Currently at 275 mill with a full inventory selling and more to sell... Best of all was that I got to play a ton of 2xp without worrying about slotting or available crafting resources. -
They did double XP despite all the anti AE sentiment last time. And a GMOTD from Posi seems a lot more transparent. It also puts to rest whether or not 2xp was intended for AE or not, this time or last.
I was planning a mixture of TF, outside story arcs and a few AE runs which wont happen... I'm still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt... (grateful that they recognized and fixed the drop rates, which for me have been borked since I13 and other QoGL issues). -

I was having trouble tanking, until Tough N Weave... after Tough N Weave, is really when I started seriously IO'ing my fire/fire. It's my first and favorite tank so far, now finally working on stone, which might be a close second... night and day... if I go afk on my stone, the defenders can tp him into mobs for instant mob magnets... no work at all for crowd control...
I don't use burn at all. I have a heavy recharge build at over 108% w/ hasten for consume and healing flames. I IO'ed with recharge in mind for my set bonuses. I use Melt Armor a lot on mobs stronger than 51... I took it over fireball for my fire epic because of the great debuffs. They did nerf the recharge time of the power from 2 to 4 minutes. That has been the biggest PITA not having that once every mob. I have no problem farming the walls the cimerora even w/ reds or purps. Lead tank a lot, but I usually do amazingly well when I have solid support from a good troller or fender. The rest of the team can be drug along after that...
I took more offensive powers than fire primaries. ROTP has one End Mod. Temp Prot has a steadfast prot KB. The shields are slammed to cap. Tough and weave are both 4 slotted with end in mind. on even level baddies, I rarely blip on my health bar. Over 10 or conning orange or higher, I'll need to throw Healing flames (more if red n purp) and consume at least once... When I'm in over my head, I'm good if I can pop a rugged in... ROTP is nice only in that it's convenient to pop back into a fight to protect your team.
The key though, is pounding your mob into ash quickly. Taunt, blazing aura, Melt Armor, FSC and a couple key single target attacks to your LT or Boss followed by a FSC thins the mob to minimize the need for HF/Consume. Obviously, lather rinse repeat tougher mobs or bosses. If I'm lazy, I'll just go find the biggest bad guy, pound on him while blazing aura picks off his minions... with a FSC for good measure... I do that a lot while fighting av's. Since having minions around makes it easier for consume to find something to hit when I know I'm in for a long fight. -
Really? Some one else said if you're getting more than 600 or so tickets, you're doing it wrong?
Wow... Did one amazing Troll/Dyne Bust that took a team of 8, and several trips to the hospital, and one or two team wipes (at lvl 43 BTW) over an hour to complete... We never did clear the entire map of spawns either, we fought to the end of the objective... I still think my 2600 tickets weren't too much... It wasn't an outright gold roll but certainly worth a shot at that Call of the Sandman I've been coveting... Certainly was less than the comm officer fiasco and MORE time/risk but certainly MORE rewarding...
The tickets, and the ability to finally start getting back the good drops for content since merits arrived really energized my play... I expected and desired corrections on AE, but the first heavy Nerf Whack put me off, and the ticket cap made me change all my search parameters to "NO AE"
So it was a map entirely made of bosses, is what you're saying.
Yeah.
Still not normal.
Sorry, not quite used to the forum formatting yet...
Sigh, no, it had 3 custom made critters. All very much like you'd expect to see trolls. Don't know if that makes a difference drop wise, but it certainly wasn't a comm officer cake walk. By comparision, 3-4x longer, a lot less xp and more than half the tickets less. And I really enjoyed myself... Were they bosses? Don't care. I enjoyed the mish and don't think the reward was out of whack.
The nerfs had to come. The holier than thou attitudes do not. These changes are what should have come out of beta... -
