Faultline: Hey, did you see Fusionette around here anywhere?
Fusionette: *standing right next to him*

Are you sure he's not just ignoring her. You know what a debt magnet she is.
  2. Wow. Just wow.

em/raises glass. Heres' to four more years, and beyond.
  3. Great story! Kinda curious as to what would happen if he actually caught Mrs. Amazing. Probably die of hart failure or something.
  4. We don't know what it is yet. I'm guessing the Op is only showing what the devs have confirmed.
  5. (QR)
Man i wish I could get on test for this. Hopefully some one will Demorecord the event, and post it somewhere I can see it.
  6. "I think I'll just observer the first game." Kruth'T said. "It would help my understanding of this game." He then walked over to the bleachers, and took a seat on a ground level bench. He placed the racket beside him.

While he watched the collection of beings his tail gave a sight twitch, whenever his gaze fell on the litch, and her friends. A large part of him wanted to go to his room, bring back fifteen pieces of scanning equipment(that he 'forgot' to tell the Vanguard was in the escape pod), and learn how they managed to move, let a lone talk. Fortunately, or not (depending on your point of view), the was not an option for Kruth'T. Seeing as his people took a dim view of probing sentient life forms, without their permission. It still didn't keep him from wanting to.

Instead, he contented himself with taking mental notes, and observations on the game they were playing.
  7. Their's a lot of great writing here.

So Kin had many friend's amongst the Children of Statesman and few enemies, and those few enemies could be recognized by their flat noses.

    This made me laugh, thanks.
  8. Kruth'T politely waived off Orchid's offer of disinfectant. Despite the surprise of his current infection, Kruth'T was fairly confident that there were few bacterial agents on earth capable of causing him harm. Mostly this was due to his knowledge that his bio-chemistry was different from the life forms that evolved on this planet. So it wasn't one of his concerns.

"Are those kind of injuries common in this game?" Kruth'T asked, with some concern. He hadn't noticed any cutting edges on his racket, so was wondering how someone might have lost a limb.

<Mitch> "Sorry if Sal freaked you guys out any." he told Sis casually, but including the others in his explanation as well, "You've probably guessed by now, but she's kind of a lich. Parts come loose every now and then. Oh, and I'm Mitch..."

    "Hello Mitch, I'm Kruth'T."

Kruth'T was not really any closer to understanding what Sal was. It was then her lack of life sustaining bodily actions became apparent, to him at least. He could still hear her movements, but to him it was the equivalent of seeing a ghost.

Creepy, very creepy. How dose she do that? She's not alive, but she moving. I don't get it, how is she doing that? For some reason he found himself disturbed by the notion that their were people that he could see, but whose bodies made none of the traditional noises.

    (to Orchid) "What's a litch?"
  9. Kruth'T meant to study the tennis courts, he truly did. But from the moment his clawed feet touched the sun warmed concrete he felt quite good. It took him a moment to wrench his attention form the warm ground, to his friends.

By this time Ian had already returned with an armload of strange devices. Kruth'T studied one that he took at random. From the comments the others had said regarding Tennis, he figured it was some kind of game.

"I think I should sit out the first game." He said with some regret. "At least observing you should clue me in on how to play this game."
  10. <Sis> "So how come the firing range is so far out here?" she asked. "It's pretty far from the buildings...can you shoot stuff other than arrows?"

"I thought it might have been intended for training, but Ella disagrees. Now I think it's more for the personnel in that underground facility to use. It has an entrance right next to it. Both are fairly good sized." Kruth'T said as he fallowed Ian. "The range is larger, now that I think about it, then would be strictly necessary for the security forces to use."

Kruth'T paused in thought for a moment. "But then again, I don't have much experience with ground based ranges so I could be wrong."

Now that Sis had brought it up, Kruth'T found himself puzzling over what he had learned from being near it. The sound generators were extensively used within it, but instead of masking it's presence to Kruth'T it had given him a 'look' at it's interior. Not that the 'look' was very detailed, more like the equivalent of a rough floor plan of the areas he had walked over.
  11. ((I think we're still waiting on HaloInc, or at least I am.))
  12. Kruth'T listened to Ian's and orchid's explanation as to what Undeath was, but he felt their explanation somewhat lacking. from their reactions he guessed it wasn't a normal part of the human life cycle. Some kind of secondary stage? No that would be inconsistent with their reactions. I wounder... Based on their reaction it would have to be a not good thing.

He decided to shelve that investigation until much latter. Noting how uncomfortable Orchid seemed to be with the subject.

<Orchid> Then she smiled to Kruth'T, "I'd like to hear about the worlds you've visited. I imagine you can tell some interesting stories."

Kruth'T was about to respond when Sis walked up. When she nodded to Kruth'T, he nodded back. He then hung back as Ian introduced her. When he finished he steeped forward. "Nice to meet you again, only this time without someone throwing doors around." Kruth'T said jokingly.
  13. When Orchid appeared out of nowhere Kruth'T jumped. What? Huh? Where? HOW? Kruth'T was dazed by Orchid's sudden appearance. So it took him a few moments to proses her questions.

Fortunately, He had regained his balance we enough to reply, when she wound down. He replayed what she had said in his mind. Taking a moment to fully collect his thoughts, and come to a decision.

"Listen, Orchid, I'm an explorer. I'm from a very far away place, and dimension. My interest is in this world's people. Not to judge them, but to better understand them." Kruth'T said simply. "I mean you, all of you." he said gestured to include all that was present.

He shrugged, and continued "I am ship wrecked, and so far, the only know survivor of the ship I was aboard. I have only been active on your world for about half of it's orbit, so there is still much I do not know."

Kruth'T looked up to a patch of sky, that was peaking through the leaves not yet fallen. "However, your secrets, are your own to keep. We all have things we can not, or will not share. Digging out your personal truths is not why I'm here. Nor it my intent."

Finally, he once again faced the humans. "I just have one real question." He paused for a moment uncertain if it would be rude to ask. "Whats an undeath?"
  14. Kruth'T looked at Ian for a moment, just a little surprised. "I was tapping to the time of the five nearest heart beats. Yours, hers, that mammal's." Kruth'T pointed at the squirrels' hiding in a hallow in the tree. "And those birds." now pointing at two birds perched on the tree.

"My species evolved from a predatory species, that relied mostly on sound to track prey. Most of my people can still attain their level of hearing through training." Kruth'T paused for a moment. "Such training is necessary for my... job."

"So, tell me about yourselves." Kruth'T asked quickly, as if to change the subject.
  15. Name: Kruth'T
    Age: Unknown
    Height: 5'10"
    Weight: 163lbs.
    Scales: Orange-brown
    Origin: Natural (alien)
    AT: Spines/Dark scrapper
    threads: The Clinic

    Appearance:

    Stage 1 battle armor

    Stage 2 battle armor

Kruth'T appears to be a bipedal reptile. His scales are orange brown, and are pebbly. Similar in a appearance to a Gilla monsters scales. His eye collar is blue.

    Personality:
Kruth'T tends to be friendly and helpful, when he's not pursuing the bad guys at least. It is thought that he behaves in this way because he's an alien, and knows very little about earth and it's cultures. As can be imagined, he gets confused about humans very easily.
  16. Kruth'T fallowed Ian, and Ella as they headed toward where they were going. In relief, he opened his senses back to normal levels.

<Ian> “So, I tried looking up more info on some of you guys but they don’t let anyone in the records department."

Kruth'T was surprised, he didn't expect Ian to attempt to look into his records. Then it occurred to him that yesterdays' events had probably caused him to do some digging. Not that there would be much for Ian to find, the Vanguard held most of them. And they were notoriously tight lipped.

<Ian> "Can you guys do any little tricks that demonstrate your powers? I’m just a bit curious as I’ve never seen either of you outside of the clinic or anything.”

Kruth'T saw nothing wrong with Ian's curiosity, and knew just the thing. It had certainly impressed Linnorn and War Piper. "Okay just wait a moment."

Once they stopped Kruth'T walked up to a tree, and brought his hearing up to his highest sensitivity. With a single delicate looking claw, he started tapping out Ians' heart beat. Then Ellas', a squirls', and then a couple of birds on a nearby branch. All five of his fingers was tapping out a different sequence of heart beats, and keeping perfect time. For a moment he thought about using both hands, but then discarded the notion as showing off.

When Kruth'T stopped he said, as he brought his hearing to normal levels. "I generally don't bring my hearing to those levels, as it would be distracting in a crowded area. But it has proven useful, epically when tracking criminals." He laughed, remembering the startled looks of criminals, who had thought they had managed to find safety.

Kruth'T then shook off his memories, adding "But as for my past, I am kinda stranded here. At least until my people find me at least."
  17. <Ian> “Should we go after her?”

At least I'm not the only one confused about this. Kruth'T thought to himself.

Mentally he debated to pros and cons of going after Orchid. He knew how he would react if she was a member of his owen species. However, while there were similarities between the two peoples, there were also some vast differences.

Kruth'T was still debating the subject when Ella said “I want to do something fun”.

This had the effect of bringing Kruth'T out of the mental maze that he had been running to a halt. Ella's statement didn't sit too well with him, so a small part of his mind worked on the problem.

"Very well, any ideas?" He asked, a ting of curiosity in his voice. "I'm okay for a while, just so long as it doesn't involve bodies of watter." He joked.
  18. ((Welcome back Rakash, I'm glad your feeling better.))
Waires quickly scanned Kruth'T's file, and found nothing under the heading of weapons. (What few weapons Kruth'T had, were donated to the Vanguard for study.) However, he did find what Kruth'T was referring to under the listing of powers.

    Meanwhile...

<Ian> “Usual weaponry? Is it something I might know of? If not, I’ve been told I’m a fast learner. Maybe you could teach me how to use it.”

Kruth'T considered this, while Orchid introduced her self. While he doubted that Ian was physically able to fight as he did, but he had ran into a few who were. Still it wouldn't hurt to find out.

These thought vanished when Orchid held her head in pain. He wanted to help her, but didn't know how. So much about these strange alien beings were a mystery to him. He knew that he could spend the remaining life span and still only understand a fraction of these people. When Orchid ran back to her room, Kruth'T could only watch.

When she vanished from sight Kruth'T turned to Ella. "I think." He started to say, and then stopped, and took a deep breath. "I think, I'm done now." He then put the weapon, and it's ammunition away.
  19. <Ian> “Heh, so….what else do you guys have planned? I’m free for about an hour or so while Ed is doing his tests so maybe I could hang out with you.”

Kruth'T nodded, noting Ella's expression. "You are more then welcome to join us, while you are able of course." He paused for a moment. "As for what we have planed latter, I don't know. I was thinking of firing off another set, and then getting a few moments of practice with my usual weaponry."

He then glanced at Waires. "If it is permitted of course." He directed towards Waires.
  20. <Ella>“It’s okay. They think that I am dangerous, and they are right I can be, so I understand” She spoke very plainly, not exactly detached from the observation but with full acceptance of it.

“Would you like some pointers on your shooting? You would be better off with a custom bow for your physiology but there is room to improve with this one” She made sure that she sounded pleasant. She wanted to be helpful and not sharply critique him. She liked him. He was her friend. He had said so.

Kruth'T nodded "That would be helpful, thank you Ella."

Because Kruth'T was looking at Ella, he saw Ian placing his hand on Ella's shoulder.

<Ian> “Hi guys,” Ian seemed tense. However, considering all that had happened yesterday, Kruth'T wasn't surprised by this.

Kruth'T tensed, partially expecting a repeat of yesterdays' events. As he observed Ella's reaction he relaxed. He watched them both, silently, as they worked through their feelings. So very different, yet so very much like us. Kruth'T thought to himself.

<Ian> turning toward Kruth’T with his warm and cheerful smile. “Sorry about yesterday, Kruth’T. I didn't mean to push that whole situation out of control like that but you were still composed enough to help bring it under control so thanks.”

"That's okay." Somewhat embarrassed by his praise. "I didn't do that much, but your welcome."

<Ian> His gaze turned toward Orchid as she skillfully fired her bow with perfect form. “Who’s your friend here?” he asked, “She’s really good.”

Noticing the Orchid was in deep concentration, Kruth'T answered. "She is Orchid. It was she who suggested this activity. I find it interesting. You see my species never developed Archery, so this is the first time I've been exposed to it."

He watched he fire another arrow. "She is very good at this, isn't she." Kruth'T said with respect.
  21. Kruth'T looked at the range rules like someone presented with a menu in a foren language. Mostly because, he still lacked the knowledge on how to read English. However, he could easily guess what the sign said. He had spent some time, when he was still on his ship, at it's range.

When the second drawer opened, Kruth'T recognized his name. and selected the less complex looking device, and it's container of ammunition. He then took a few moments to familiarize himself with the alien weapon. Fortunetly he had meet some archers while in Paragon. So he had an idea how the weapon worked.

"Interesting device, my people never developed anything like this." He then noticed that Ella didn't get one. Kruth'T was disappointed that she wouldn't get the chance to fire an 'Archery' off. But he knew better then to protest it.

Once he was finished with that task he then steeped up to the range with Orchid. Kruth'T took his time, some how combining his child-like glee at being presented with a new toy, and the caution of someone who knew that the device he held could be dangerous.

While he didn't do too badly, considering that it was his first time using a bow. That is to say, the arrows went in the right direction, none of them actually hit his target. Once he finished, Kruth'T steeped back to allow Orchid time to finish getting her shots.

"I will wait until Orchid is finished before I retrieve my ammunition." Kruth'T said to the hologram. "Please wait to send the cease fire signal until then."

Kruth'T then joined Ella. "Sorry you weren't allowed fire one of these devices as well." He said to her.
