  1. Slow fields looks like crap with ultra mode. I wouldn't use it personally.

I guess I need to post stuff when I have time since I was the one who brought all this up!
  3. I will try to make it to the auction.

If anyone is curious about what they could use me for, I consider my strengths to be teaming and base building. Badges... not so much.

I'd say that my most unique and best quality would definitely be base work. If you ever wanted someone to teach you all the fancy base building techniques such as floating wall objects at an angle or how to build complex structures without an ounce of graphic overlays, I am your guy. Perhaps you are needing someone to help critique your base. Or maybe you don't care to do it yourself but want someone to make an extroidinary room or two for you. Before you consider bidding on me I can even show ya some past work.

I also have toons that I would be more than willing to use on anything else you would like.

I've never seen a half-decent base that had numerous editors. The best bases usually only have one editor.
  5. I wouldn't care about the merits or badges even if there were not any. Sometimes things are just worth doing because you can. I am not a rat that needs a piece of cheese just to motivate itself to go through the maze.

Technically you don't lose that effort if someone loses. My SG used to have a rotating roster. If this were true we would have next to no prestige. You do of course lose future prestige from that character.

I think SGs are convenient in some ways, but you can get around the game easily without a SG. The game, as it stands, seems to prefer many small SGs instead of large one with how inexpensive desired base items have become.

Viv, I am sorry to hear about the event but glad to hear about your continued physical wellbeing.
  8. It's about time for ANYTHING to happen with bases.

I've encouraged PERC to do SOMETHING with bases. Like a base contest or whatever. I know I have auctioned myself out to help people with bases in the Victory auctions. I know there is the base builders channel, but I've always been one of those "hands on" people who best give advice if I see the issue or best teach someone within an actual base.

I'd love for base raids to come backin some appropriate form. Too often the attitude is that bases and SGs do not matter with global channels and so forth, but for me bases offer some of the special mystique to the game.

So as for player-led base groups, I will support them if they can prove that they can do anything to help base builders. Even just ONE thing. Even is it's just a cool thing that players would want and that only bases could offer.

But in my opinion, the first thing that should be considered is not the actual base building programming but the SG concept as a whole. The purpose of building a base is for people to see it. But when your SG is limited to 150 characters and people are flocking to using global channels because of this, it makes me wonder if base building is worth the time. Used to people would look for "established" SGs for all of the benefits and builders could really showcase their ability but now it seems that people only even go into the base to get to those hard-to-get-to zones that are not served by Oro or trains or whatever.

What I am saying is that as long as SGs continue to become less and less relevant so does base editing in the eyes of everyone. Bases need to become relevant again and for that to happen so do SGs as a whole.

Also in my opinion we should be careful about making a change for the worst. One change I regret happening is for base items to be more affordable. I think this is a thing that contributed to descreasing importance SGs because now anyone can make a base for themselves and get all they need pretty quickly. I know some think that it made it easier to start off a SG but I disagree as I started my SG years after most SGs on my server were started and we reached top 10 in less than year for prestige. If there is a will there is a way.

Yeah that part amazes me about people. I have even heard of instances were such logs were subpoenaed by law enforcement.
  10. Hey everyone.

Im currently leveling up a mind/fire dom Even at level 30 I am already noticing the potential for this character. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some really good guides or perhaps offer some personal advice on this toon. While the guides I have found seem to be helpful, I have the feeling that there's "more to it" than just what I have found (for example one guide said that the toon is not solo friendly, but I have read about mind doms soloing TFs and so forth).

    Any help would be appreciated!

Well I never said anything about wormhole though, hence why I mentioned picking up foe teleport as a pool power. Too bad it disorients though because then you could teleport two mobs on the squishies at once instead of just one!

One thing I used to do when I farmed a lot and got tired of the PL beggards is invite them to the team and map the mission with them as padders. Once I was done I would kick them off team. I didn't consider it wrong, they were the ones annoying me for a PL after all.

As for pulling GMs onto players in PI, I don't see anywhere in the ToS where it mentions this behavior specifically. I guess this is where loose interpretation comes into play as it could be considered harassment. I do know that Aquabladez once pulled Eochai under the Atlas Statue one time while I was hosting a costume contest and instead of petitioning him, I thought it was the funniest thing ever.

I also know that you cannot get into trouble for sneaking into a leadership role in an unpopular SG and holding their base for ransom, because if it was then I would have certainly found out about it. I'm not mentioning the SG that that was done to, but let's just say they are no longer playing on this server
  12. Speaking of griefing, I've always wanted to make a grav controller or dom with foe teleport and do annoying stuff like teleport mobs onto squishies and use dimensional shift at the worst times. Or maybe an ill/storm controller slotted for max KB.

I'm joking of course, but the thought of it does make me laugh sometimes.
  13. Whoa I need sleep!

For some reason my brain made me think you meant a mothership raid. But you're talking about the bomb ship. Yeah, I don't recall if I have done that yet or not. Would love to though.

Ha! I heard you can get in trouble for doing it actually, but I am not sure where it mentions this behavior in ToS.
  15. Next time someone does this to you SH, let them have the space and then grab a stone tank and pull a few GMs from monster isle on top of them for payback.
  16. People who throw out insults so readily in the game are nothing more than cyberbullies. It's unfortunate as unlike traditional bullying, there is very little supervision online. Bullies and victims can hide the bullying and even if they report it there are very little consequences to it. At the very worst a closing of an account. I would say that this is a problem of kids, but I see adults engage in cyberbullying too.
  17. People who farm experience this same rude behavior 365 days a year once the word gets out about them farming. Not just Halloween.
  18. Well technically going back and forth between two doors is not how ToT was originally intended. It's farming. So you have to expect that people will try to abuse the system that way, or not understand why you are staying at one door on and on. But that does not excuse them from broadcasting over PI about their gripe.
  19. Speaking of arguments, we just had a 10 minute debate on how to end the MoITF we just did while in mission. But at least we still got the badge :P
  20. This same reason is why I grew tired of leading mothership raids. People either don't listen, want to argue or intentionally act like words that I would get in trouble for writing here. I think people think you are being rude by correcting them, but really you are just trying to help THEM not look bad.

I guess that makes SOME sense, if you were one to fail at considering the fact that MMOs vary and even contain radically different demographics and cultures at times.

Forum PvP? I think I've heard it all.

There's so many Grade-A griefers who have left Victory. I miss 'em, I really do. Especially Master. I almost want to go to Freedom to see what he's doing these days.
