  1. Today, we get access to the Gunslinger costume options and bundle! While it's been heavily disputed in the beta forums and may not be everyone's cup of tea, I'm certainly excited for it.

400PP for the whole set, check the spreadsheet for individual prices. I'm updating it now.

Oh, and the Dual Pistols Power Set is on sale for 25% off to celebrate its release.

EDIT: Spreadsheet and OP updated (sorry for the delay on the latter). Here's a list of just the parts from the Gunslinger Bundle.

  2. It's in the store now!

Contact NCSoft's tech support. Nobody who posts on these forums can directly help you with that issue.
  4. If I had the cash, I probably would have bought 10 or so of the proc, but probably not more than 1 or 2 of the whole set.

I don't have the money to spare right now, though, so I bought nothing.

Yes, because I'm sure none of your friends collected Magic: the Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh or any other collectible card games. Or, if you're older than I believe you to be, replace the above with baseball cards or collectible cards from another sport. Personally, I collected Marvel Superhero cards in middle school.

This form of "gambling" started back in 1868 with the first baseball cards and has done just fine for the last 130+ years whether you participated or not.

What, all of them? That's pretty small-minded if that's what you meant.

There should definitely be simple varieties, but I'd like to see some of the more detailed and even obscure things that other people have posted, ranging from a generic spear to a trident to some of the tech options that have been mentioned.

Oh, also, a naginata -- effectively a staff with a wakizashi or katana mounted to the end.

I BELIEVE they're applied immediately as soon as they become applicable (when the last one expires). And Ghost Falcon seems to believe that they can be purchased in bulk in advance...

This. Demon Farms are still just as rewarding as they were before the AE launched.

I'm a big fan of Fire/Kin/Fire for damage and survivability, and I don't even farm!
  9. Now, if you're reported for spamming because you run around in Atlas shouting "AE FARM FORMING, 12 BAJILLION INF FOR A SPOT" nine thousand times, I'm pretty sure you can get temp banned for that. But it's for the spamming the chat channels, not for charging inf.

Yes, Z has already said in this very thread that the Numina's Convalescence, when they fix the bug and put it in the store, will be on sale at 400PP for the set.

I would also not qualify Basilisk's Gaze, a Hold set, as a melee-centric one.

    A) The primary "selling point" for this game is customization. Virtually the only time I see CoH mentioned outside of new release reviews is to comment that some new MMO has a bunch of customization, but nowhere near the versatility of CoH had even at its launch. (But that's not really important, and subject to opinion.)

    B) The lack of raids and endgame were both heavily cited as reasons former players quit. I'm not going to say it was a brilliant idea to tie them both together the way they did, but they brought two oft requested features in at the same time. It made some people extraordinarily happy, but it pissed others off, as does every change in the game. I say this with no malice: the decision to tie raids to the endgame was apparently your turn to be annoyed.

They're giving you a solo path approximately one year (possibly a little less, even)--just two issue releases--after the raid system was introduced (Issue 20, April 2011). I don't think that's a horrible amount of time to wait for a feature... but it also didn't bother me very much, and I'll likely continue mostly with raids once I get the badges for the new Dark Astoria content.

  13. Added the Black Friday sales to the sale spreadsheet. Not worth updating the OP in my opinion, but they're on the spreadsheet.

I doubt it. The last round of Rare IO sets they put on the market were only up for a week.

Probably shortly after midnight PST. The sales on the Paragon Market have always run Pacific Time so far, I see no reason for this one to be any different.
  17. Monkey King's staff -- a solid-colored staff with metal caps on both ends that usually end in orbs or rings.

False. It gives you +25% XP gained for a one hour time limit, not a set amount of patrol XP.

As to whether or not it works in AE, I don't know for sure, but I think I heard some reports that it actually does. Why not test it out on the beta or test server and let us know?

The game counts Vigilantes as Heroes and Rogues as Villains in the background. The only difference is your personal ability to travel between areas. You are still effectively flagged as Hero or Villain for all systems except for individual zone access.

As a Rogue, you can NOT join Hero SGs or have any of the Hero SG-specific teleporters. Same for Vigilantes with Villain SGs and teleporters.

I'm afraid there's no shortcut to stability here, you'll have to figure it out and try drivers on your own.
Are you making sure to do a clean install of every driver? Uninstall the old drivers, run Driver Sweeper (or an equivalent) in safe mode, then install the new drivers?

What's your graphics card and version of Windows? Is there anything else in your system that could be causing problems (does it crash regularly when you're NOT playing CoH)?

Is your business hiring? Do they need a tech guy?

There are a zillion things to do in the game that I would rather be doing than sitting at the market filling bids, sitting in my base crafting pieces, or farming for drops. Most of my characters don't use anything other than common IOs because I find it so frikken tedious. I don't get satisfaction out of putting IOs in my character's slots, I get satisfaction out of PLAYING MY CHARACTER.
And this is the other side of the fence. The side I'm on. Agg put it as well as I could (and probably better).

I get zero enjoyment out of grinding for IOs. It took me about three years to finish my build on my main hero, and my main villain is still only about half done. And as a result, the rest of my characters are mostly using SOs, with a couple using common IOs.

If I could afford it, I'd drop some cash on a few LotG +Recharges and Numina procs, because I see giving actual money to the development team as being better than giving pretend money to the in-game farmers. There's something attractive to me about validating the time spent Paragon Studios has been working on the game rather than the time some pancaker has spent playing it.

But don't worry your pretty little head, 2HB... I lost my job last month, and spending what little money I have on video game enhancements isn't an option for me right now. You and your "l33t builds" can continue feeling superior to me.

    Big difference there, bucko.
That, and there's no CoH equivalent of the Super Bowl. Neither the Luck of the Gambler +Recharge, Numina's Convalescence proc or ANY of the other items in the store are rewards that can only be gained from winning a gigantic championship. They aren't even awarded as PVP (competitive) drops to begin with.

    The comparison is indeed laughable.

On the other hand, I'm sure there are professional football teams with more money for training equipment than others... meaning those teams have access to better enhancements due to buying them with real money. And in the end, the vast majority of those who watch could care less if the team that won the Super Bowl did so because they were able to purchase superior equipment or they just practiced more than the team they beat using the equipment they had.
