  1. There are some good guides out there to help plan out build a few suggestions on just what you picked out and slotting.

    1) Take a look at Dam/Range Hami's for slotting into some power. They provide a larger benefit the other IOs on dma/range. Looking at set bonuses is a consideration when compared against extra range. I think on my build for AR/Dev I use Hami's on buckshot and flamthrower to increase the cones sizes even more so more targets tend to get caught. Consider explosive strike protocol in buckshot for extra damage.

    2) On Smoke gernade you listed protocols in slotting. It is my understanding that toss smoke gernade it draws no aggro, add a protocol to smoke gernande if it triggers aggro. Figure out how you might want to use the gernade .. before combat or in-combat.

    3) On mixing some IOs sets you miss out the big benefit of the set by not slotting enough from that set such your two stun powers bean bag and taser. Ditto for sniper.

    4) On the defense powers (combat jumping/weave/cloaking) check out luck of the gambler recharge specials on the defense sets and for tough check out steadfast RES/DEF special. Also the two KB protections from Steadfast set and Karma sets can offer some status protection versus you getting KB.

    5) How do you use M30? Looks like you use if for soft control with KB. I skipped that on my build as I try to keep baddies bunched together so cones work better on more targets. I often rely upon buckshot as my KB protection when the bad guys charge me. I also have hover to hover blast and the KB on buckshot can be used a knockdown.

    6) I love time bomb on solo but on teams I never get to use unless I rush ahead of group. I wish the developers would spend sometime listening to suggests to improve time bomb and fix AI on gun drone who after flies into melee range.

    7) Big fan of caltrops and six slotted mine. Mix of recharge/damage with a little slow. Useful to toss infront of you to blast where mobs run into and then might make one attack and run away or never reach you for melee. Makes me happy when I can stack caltrops more then once. Caltrops are a power some folks often do skip for me, it's one of my favorites.

    8) Been checking out going rogue long enough to get Mako's patron pool for my build. The area immoblize, spiders shield and hold could work well for my play style and utility. Any AR/Dev suggests on getting the Mako patron?

    Where was this mentioned? I could not find anything more about it outside of the DM/Reg thread.
    Oh I have a lvl 50 3+ DM/REG build that I enjoy playing. I could use more recharge on her build and a bit more click happy to manage things when compared to the past.

  3. I wanted to support what one of the early posters mentioned:
    "Sister Solaris (or any of the sybils) - never fails, run an ITF, at least one person will say how they still want the outfit. "

    I remember setting the Kronos titan come over hill the first time to launch missiles at me for doing the Malta arc. One of my best visual experiences.

    Jack-in-Irons has great detail, almost too much if you have to melee him.

    Mirror-Spirit has a nice look and details. Also, the Tsoo, I wish more high level content was around for them. They look cool and fighting them at time felt like fight another superteam with the variety they have in terms of powers.

    In the going rogue I did like the Syndicate. Kinda look like from Matrix but interesting look and variety.

  4. I have a base on guardian server I built for my triplets long time ago. I was playing with base editing on my primary base and my daughter saw me and wanted her own base. I showed the one I started for them and well she wants it bigger and better. I dont doubt they can change it around making it nicer but I do not recall how do I upgrade the plot size. I have over 3M prestige from when they gave one time upgrade plus the doubling of prestige.

    So do I have to wipe everything out to upgrade plot or can existing footprint rooms be moved over? Thanks

  5. I have been away showing all my love to my heroes and my lvl50 dark/electric/electric has been neglected. I tried playing around with few things testing out respect and found my self running short on slots very quickly.

    Was getting everything in DM except Touch of Fear, everything in Electric armor, fighting boxing,touch,weave with hasten tossed in. In epic maybe just electric fence. Without breaking the bank getting purples and PvP sets I am open to suggestions. Biggest issue was running short on slots. I think the last to picks we CJ and dark consumption.

    Suggestions .. MIDS has trouble running on PC.

  6. My Stone/ice tank is getting close to opening the Destiny Incarnate slot. One branch of the Ageless Destiny protects against debuffs .. ageless redial an example .. such run speed and recharge. I am uncertain and figure to check with community does anyone know if the debuff protection would do anything to protect against the recharge and run speed penalities of wearing granite armor?
  7. I have experienced the same problem. Sent to customer service and not a satisfied reply. As you said its when I team and it might happen that is locks up with the loading issue. After few minutes I am usually map-served. I ran a two checks recently.

    1)Was on a trial team and did not enter mission. Long loading then the map-serve. I then just went out and enter a old mission and that worked fine. So it appears to be just getting into a particular mission.
    2)Again on trial team. Long loading then maperved. I restarted the game and tried to enter again mapserved. Got game running again and I took the elevators out of pocket D and in the cross section did a rejoin for tiral and it worked. I got into the very laggy BAF and was able to stay in mission and received a common piece of salvage.

    I am not certain what the issue but switching zones and trying to re-enter mission might work. I will try it again next time it happens to me.
  8. Once you get your starter base up an running try to form a coalition with another group. This way while you have limited facilities you cand use sections of their base to help you, such as teleporters and workshop. For months I used an established groups base for some functions until the huge prestige grant was given.

  9. Trick or Treat – I really like the event. Watching my freak tank do a somersault for elude is nice and PPD Hardshell nice look. Wish there was a way to extend the event or maybe do it again around April Fools.

    Few items of discussion –
    1) Tier three drops – run a two player SG and I have nearly filled three inspiration bins with the tier three drops.
    2) Costumes – lot of fun with all the choices thanks for implementing it.
    3) Open doors – found a nice quiet spot on Monster Island to run ToT with three other people. One set of doors was back to back. At times spawns would come out on other person’s door so we had a few double spawns at times. Still can over come the groups without much fuss.
    4) Rude folks – two incidents - guardian server I have my daughter’s lvl 10 controller opening doors in Steel and was standing by door where working. Lvl 18 comes along and opens a door where I was standing. A Lt and minion spawn. Before I could move the Lt drops controller. At least the spawn beats the lvl 18 blaster to pulp. So some satisfaction. Other incident on Victory low level (2nd) scrapper opening doors and level 6 tank coming to kill steal my spawns. He did that several times and eventually I just waited for while for him to move along
    5) Except for manners of a few people I am very pleased with the event and think developers did a nice job on the design of Halloween event.

  11. One more thing on solo versus team play. Planting and getting some use out of turret is tough because the mobs often go down quick or the team is not patient to let a */dev plant his/her tricks. The device is left behind once the team moves along.

    I have to agree with some previous posters about blaster secondaries need a look .. in a positive way.

  12. Castle thank for posting a reply on the matter.

    I recently picked up auto-turrent on blaster and at lvl41 was planning on getting teleport friend to move it around if it survived a fight. As for game play it does effect me in solo play even now. I plant it spending a ton of blue to get it in place where it might be effective. As soon as it start blasting the bad guys shoot back often with AoE attacks and I get caught before i can get clear. I experience same thing with the mortar in the trap set. With teleport friend I could set it up someplace safe and then tp it to a location close the the mobs but safe enough I dont get caught in the alpha strike.

    Also the auto turret is not equal to malta version which appears to have greater range and possible more damage .. sure they dont tp it around but it stays after the guy who set it defeated. Also, if i try to throw caltrops or mines around the turret I end up drawing lots of aggro myself.

    Overall, i have to say I do not like the change .. its sucks to put it bluntly. I do not consider it an exploit. So few people take it .. mortar it too nice and comes early to not take it. This seems to be the only "nerf" placed in I8 I hope its rollback takes place on this issue.

  13. Lot of good information in this thread .. but one thing I missed reading it or was not included .. How long does a taunt last? I am curious because I would not mind making an ice tanker who if he/she hibernates would hold the aggro around the big ice cube.
  14. I have lvl 50 stone/ice on the victory server. I like what you said in your guide and I have done some of the same. I run mostly in granite on missions. Few things I did different
    1) I did slot mud pots for 3end,2dam,1acc, The mudpot damage added up over lower lvl but seems to have less effect at higher lvls. After on the issue updates they changed the accuracy of mudpots so when tanking highre levels i need to able hit them.
    2) I did not take ice sword but did take frost. the cone is good for mob fights.
    3) in most attacks i went for 3-dam,2rech,1acc to overcome granite recharge.
    4) travel powers were teleport and superspeed. Most stoners know about teleport . Since I got hasten superspeed seemed like a good pick since I hate teleporting all the time.
    5) i also got the prye mastery epic. good attacks and useful hold .
    6) my build was mostly as team tank built like a controller for aggro.

    I like your guide and thanks for taking time to write for a set where I have only met on other stone/ice on my server.

  15. Like someone else posted .. time for a respect on my tank. I picked whirlwind because I thought it would cool power and help me grab and keep aggro while waiting for my attacks to recharge when wearing granite. I posted about this previously and never got an answer on the change.

    Overall I am miffed my power choice was changed but as others stated get your act to gether with the patch notes. Castle you do a good job of answering our question and such in the past can you please stay on top of all the stealth changes.

  16. I saw stuff on the all Rad team and it looked pretty cool. On the kinetics (I got a lvl 21 kin/elc defender on another server). The speed boost only last for two minutes and its a pain to cover a big team constantly. Its a quality of life issue might work best if assignments were made to cover certain people on the team and perhaps not all of them. Kinetics know about the handshake.
    Increase density is nice but with a limited duration .. could help with some of the knockback issue and immobalizations.
    Inertial Reduction is fun and its nice to not have to need a travel power bewteen siphon speed and Inertial Reduction but again IR does not last long but should cover people moving from mission to mission on most maps. Team will need to work together to cover each other. Might work best if someone had fly and recall .. speed boost the flyer to next mission door and recall the team.
    I look forward to seeing the clips and some stories about the Tank-Mages.

  17. I tried out the archery set and only got to third level but could see the Defiance make a difference in a few hits. At low levels that damage does not come in huge bites so you could survive long enough to get some benefit out of it. At higher levels the damage can come in pretty hard hitting and 40% starting point would mean that the ability will not be as useful.
    Some suggested giving it to scrappers in exchange for criticals. I have a high lvl SR scrapper who dodges shots an no resistance to damage. I can get dropped pretty quick sometimes with a few lucky hits so it may not be of interest to all scrappers.
    Blasters would be much better suited gain access to criticals same as scrappers and Defiance should be given to all classes. Sometimes I run for a fight when the odds are overwhelming .. sometimes I try to hold the line to buy time for others. With so many "nerfs" hitting different groups giving blaster critical and everyone defiance might easy the pain. (I am sure there is some exploit for it if everyone has it but can't put my finger on it right now).
