Yep. Goodbye, power leveling.

Quote:Sorry, but if you have to put in all that work just to find a team to play with, then the game is dead. It's sad. I still love City of Villains, but it's obvious that redside at least has been dead for some time and rigor mortis has set in.Then take some additional steps. Look for your server forum and post a message asking people to join you in running missions for Contact X or whatever you want to do that night. Include a time and place to meet and your global handle. If you want a team, you're going to have to work harder to sell people on why they should team with you instead of doing whatever else they wanted to do. Once you get one team, friend the people so you know who was open to teaming and who was fun to team with. Sure it's harder, but it's always been harder on the red side. If it wasn't the AE, it would be the fact that the game is 5 years old and there's been little marketing done to get new players to come onboard in the last 3 or more of those years.
Let's all hope while you're selling people on the idea of joining you, the marketing team is working on selling people the idea of joining all of us. -
I feel the original poster's pain. I much prefer playing redside. I just find the ATs there much more enjoyable. However, good luck finding a team. Before the Mission Architect, finding teams was difficult, but doable. Now? Pfft. Before level 35, the only available teaming option is AE farms in Cap au Diable. After level 35, it's either ITF runs or AE farms in Cap au Diable.
"Well, make your own team!"
I tried, repeatedly. I spent quite a few of my evenings just standing around, searching, and asking anyone that shows up in my search window within five levels of my character that isn't already teamed if they'd be interested in teaming. Most of the times, I'd only find three to five people in one night that fit that criteria, and only once was anyone interested in doing non-AE farm missions.
People said that the newness of the Mission Architect would wear off after a while and I'd be able to find teams again. I've waited four months, and I still am not finding anyone willing to team outside of AE farms.
Sorry, but I'm done waiting and soloing. I already purchased a lifetime subscription to Champions Online. Just a few more weeks, and I'll be able to play with others again. -
This idea deserves more recognition.

Congrats and good luck, Miz Nibbles! 1 A.M. is a bit too late for me when I need to be up at 6:30 A.M., but I'll be sure to download and give it a listen.

I just want to thank everyone that has come out to my first two weekly Rikti mothership raids and made them a smashing success. I don't recall ever seeing as many people at a mothership raid as we had last night. The Rikti War Zone was actually full.
Two down, many more to go. -
Champion normally gets lag because it's on the same server rack as the Test server. Heavily loaded Test server = lag on Champion. That wasn't the case this past weekend though. I can only assume it was some sort of hardware problem, as not every West coast server experienced the severe lag from what I've been told.

Lord Doppelganger, my Thugs / Force Field Mastermind, went from level 32 to 50. I now have a second bubbler to alternate with on my weekly Rikti mothership raids. :P
-
I have a brand spanking new level 50 Thugs / Force Field / Ghost Widow Mastermind that I would like to use for purple IO farming. I would like suggestions, anywhere from build advice to where he should farm.
-
Just a reminder before the forums go boom that my first weekly Rikti mothership raid will be this Thursday at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT!
-
I now have Tiffany playing in my head. Thank you.

Mod 8's post all but confirms it will be a three day downtime. They'll need it to convert the posts over to the new forums.

omg im so there.

Why does this not surprise me? -
"Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. Based on this morning's reading, it would be a Twinkie thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds."

Thanks for the support, y'all. Yeah, it's getting really difficult to find free days and times to schedule events. :P The only available evenings I could find without any scheduled major events were Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Fridays are out for me, and Saturday evenings tend to have a low population. That left Thursday. :P
-
Sorry, I couldn't think of any cute names.
Everyone that knows me in-game knows that a Rikti mothership raid is my favorite thing to do in-game. Champion no longer has a scheduled Rikti mothership raid due to recent events. This simply will not do!
I will host weekly Rikti mothership raids every Thursday evening at 8:30 P.M. ET / 5:30 P.M. PT. We will meet at the rooftop just south of Pylon 17 in the Rikti War Zone. The first weekly Rikti mothership raid will be this Thursday, July 30th.
Be there, or be a Rikti sympathizer! -

Really odd. Doesn't match my experience at all, though I'm not discounting your experience. I wondered if the problem was server related so a couple of sessions ago, I brought out my old AR/Dev blaster on Guardian server to see if I can get a team started around 11 PM Pacific time. I started with just two people joining, but had a full team of 8 (levels 44 - 50) doing parts of the Maria Jenkins arc and radio missions just for flavor. We even did a Safeguard mission (wow, that was hard on Invincible!)
I don't have any villains on Champion, but I have no problems on finding/starting teams where I have most of my major characters (Guardian blue side, Virtue blue/red side).
[/ QUOTE ]
That doesn't surprise me, because Guardian has a very high blue to red player ratio, just as Champion does. And Virtue is the second most populated server in the game, so it'll have a higher redside population by default. -
Because it's frustrating as heck.
I love redside. I play on Champion. Redside on Champion is dead. It was limping before Issue 14 and the Mission Architect, but Issue 14 and the Mission Architect honestly put the final nail in it.
Just last night, I was on my level 29 Thugs Mastermind. During the period of a hour and a half, there were exactly three people within 5 levels of me either way that weren't already on a team in the search window. I sent a tell to all three of them, asking if they'd be interested in teaming with me. One was busy selling and buying at the black market. The other two were only interested in AE farms.
Seriously, I don't know if it's like this on all servers, but AE killed what little redside activity Champion had.
At this point, I'm looking forward to Champions Online just so I can team with other super-powered players again. -
I have a Thugs / Force Field Mastermind. I have enough powers space to take either the Leadership pool, or the Medicine pool, but not both. Note that I team about as often as I solo. Which do you think would be the more beneficial?

Between 7AM and 9AM Pacific Time, on July 28th, the current UBB Message Boards will be taken offline in order to transfer the data over to the vBulletin Message Boards. This means that the UBB Message Boards will NOT be accessible during that time. The work that needs to be done on the new boards is expected to take approximately 72 hours.

Aaahhh! The forums will be down for at least three days next week! We're all gonna die! -
Actually, Friday night is for wrestling.
