Thugs / FF / GW Purple IO Farming
Well, here's the basics of Purple IOs:

My suggestion would be to run level 50 Ouroboros story arcs on the second level of difficulty( Malicious). That way you get larger spawn size with greater chance of a purple dropping, and you can earn a few merit rewards while doing so.

The likelihood doesn't increase for 3, 4, and 5 difficulty, assuming you can handle it?

An enemy that cons green to you is just as likely to give you a drop as one that cons purple.
From Paragonwiki:
These recipes come from defeating a computer controlled foe. The recipe may be common, uncommon, or rare. If a team defeats an enemy that drops a recipe, it goes to a random team member. The enemy's rank affects how likely it is to drop a recipe, with higher ranks giving higher chances (bosses more so than lieutenants, for example). The enemy's level does not influence drop chances, except that enemies that are too low in comparison to the player character, that con grey, provide no rewards at all (except reduced experience points). Drop chances aren't affected by the enemy's faction, either. None of these factors influence what kinds of recipes might drop or how likely they are to be common, uncommon, or rare. |

The advantage of using Malicious difficulty setting is that it increases the spawn size, but the enemies will generally be even-con( white ). This works well for farming for drops since its maximizes the number of enemies while minimizing the risk.

However, higher ranks (bosses over lieutenants, e.g.) are more likely to drop purples.
But I suppose it's not that much more to overwhelm a zergling rush of difficulty 2. :-/

If you want the challenge, certainly go for a higher challenge setting. Just remember that Malicious( level 2), and Ruthless( level 4 ), will generally give larger spawns. Which results in more enemies, which results in more chances for 'teh fatz lootz', so to speak, :P.
Of course with Issue 16( Beta started today), my above advice may change with the new changes to the difficulty system. We'll see.

Scroll down near the bottom, under the section Enhanced Difficulty Options. Cool stuff, .

Thanks, interesting!
I wonder for other pools, though. Is the drop rate for bosses say > 3x that for minions? Because in level 5 missions currently, you get spawns of 3 minions, 1 min + lieut, or 1 boss.

I have a brand spanking new level 50 Thugs / Force Field / Ghost Widow Mastermind that I would like to use for purple IO farming. I would like suggestions, anywhere from build advice to where he should farm.
