Quote:I disagree here.I suggest, if you're running tests, do a similar number of tests with x2, x4, and x8 difficulties. It seems to me that x2 approaches the pre-I16 drop rates, while x4 is a bit lower and x8 is significantly lower. Most of the runs in this thread were x6 or x8, and the only ones that came pretty close to the old drop rate were the cargo ship, set for x2 so it spawned only minions.
Perhaps you do not very often play solo at simply x1 difficulty but i actually do most of the time and i swear that drops are seriously borked even at that level.
Like i said above, you do not even need to be a "hardcore farmer" to notice that drops have changed since I16 and this is where i think the new "drop rate" hurts the most. Players who already were seldomly getting stuff are getting even less now ( and this is where im gonna start crying... *sob*). -

Now this is no wonder that the player who does the same map set for 1 single player ends getting nothing at all most of the time.
I do not need more stats to innately feel that something is absolutely wrong here -
Hi!
I played my 50 Brute today on I16 live servers and as i feared i noticed/feeled that recipe drops indeed seem to be somehow broken.
Simply put, i have no numbers but by simply comparing what i used to get pre-I16 with what i am getting now, something definitely seem wrong.
I soloed two times the Midnight Hand story arc set for 1 player at normal difficulty ( 6 door missions ) and all i got is one single level 50 Endurance Reduction recipe from a CoT Lieutnant in mission 1. That's all.
Pre-I16, not getting at least one single recipe per mission was a really rare event and most of the time i used to get 3-4 recipes per mission.
Anyway, if things are working as intended i am then sorry to say that thw whole thing will get boring very fast. And no, i am not willing to set my missions for 6-8 players just in order to get 3-4 recipes.
Color me disappointed i guess. Random Recipe drops really is a thing that kept my interest in the game for the last years and i hope devs are actively monitoring the situation of rewards awarded to solo players that do not toy with the difficulty settings. -
So, will there be yellow freezing rain? I will rename my power Fatal Golden Shower

Maybe the real issue is that controllers got blessed with an inherent that is overperforming within a team setting. Was not Containment originally meant to help controllers solo better? I doubt it was meant to make them the killing machines that some troller combos are demonstrating in game.
Anyway, after ready Arcannaville reply, i think that maybe reducing containment would be the solution. But again, i am nto even certain there is any issue between defenders and controllers. There are overperforming controllers but thats it imho. Not all controllers are beasts and some definetely solo slower than defenders and at any given level.
It is a very complex issue if it even exist. A can of worms maybe Castle would prefer not to touch at this point. -
I received an update and GM gave me my 57 Merits. It seems that compared to some other TFs, Synapse is very slow to give out the Merits and like other guy said in thread, will award them only when everyone gets out of mission.
It seems i exited mission after completion and i left team before leader was out and this "could" explain why i did not get merits.
That be said, Merits really should be awarded at the same time badge and other rewards for TF completion are given. What if leader takes extended AFK and do not come out of mission for 15 minutes? Everyone must wait to get their Merits? That is not nice. -

There are three melee ATs you can go toe toe on four if you include stalkers.
All of em smack stuff.
Only tanks can take the brunt of an AVs fury with only SOs and no external teamate support.
Only tanks can reliably mitigate damage for an entire team through an inherent and two power picks(taunt/aggro toggle).
Call me what you will I agree with _Castle_ tanks are fine mechanically as an AT.
How well they hold up conceptually is dependent on the imagination of the player, not the devs.
For those with argumentative ADD. CONCEPT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MECHANICS.
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT. I have 5 tankers and they are all good enough and they can solo fast enough and they can hold agro on teams.
Tankers are just fine. Thank you Castle for telling J_B once again. -
Positive. Got nothing but the 2 Merits for Babbage... There is some bug with that TF. Past comments in patch notes and other players messages on the board have shown before that there was a reward issue with this TF.
I thought it got fixed. But it seems it is not. -

Ok.. The real reason I started this thread is because I hate hitting Build Up and Aim. I just hate it. If it lasted longer and I didn't have to hit it as often I'd hate it less.
At least Feint and some of the others are actual attacks. So I don't feel like they do nothing. Heck for brutes they help to keep the Fury Bar going.
Rage clicks on for a good while. That's really why I think Rage is unfair. That and its in a powerset that I'm not really that interested in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that is really sad for you but do not expect ever that other powersets Build Up will be repleced by Rage. It is very unlikely. And besides, Build Up is a good power allready. There are no downsides to it and you can make it recycle as fast as every 30 seconds. -
Maybe it is a random bug but i completed Synapse TF tonight and was not awarded any Merits. I was awarded the badge and the gladiator though...
I am still waiting for my 57 Merits... I petitioned and got no in-game answers within 2 hours so i logged out.
I hope this can be solved via e-mails because you will never have me wait again for 2 hours in-game... Really not happy about the Support time response but i guess that this is not a bug, unfortunately... -

Very true. I made a Elm/Da Brute way back in the day for pure concept and forced myself to level him to 50. I haven't played that brute in nearly 2 years because I find it terrible.
Now, I'm sure I'll get many replies about elm/da being awesomeblahblahblahblah.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, i leveled to 50 an Elec/Elec Stalker. Everyone says Elec armor for stalkers sucks and they might be right. But still, even a sucky armor could not prevent me of soloing on Villainous. If you can deal basic damage ( and every AT/Powersets have powers that can do so ) then you can solo on lowest setting. -

There seems to be two schools of thought developing about how to improve Flurry:
1) Make it a cone attack.
2) Improve the Stun portion of it.
But doesn't #1 automatically accomplish #2? After all, making Flurry a cone attack means that the Stun portion gets applied to every enemy who falls in the cone, right? So instead of having a whatever-% chance to disorient one enemy, you now have a whatever-% chance to disorient however many enemies you happen to get in position. (I usually average 2 or 3, but have eked out 4 or 5 on occasion.)
Also, even if you were to guarantee a single-enemy stun, you're still rooted through the long animation, so you will have very little time to take advantage of it. Remember, Flurry's major drawback is the long animation -- if you miss, you're stuck, and even if you hit, you're stuck. Making Flurry a cone attack improves the odds of at least hitting SOMEBODY during that long animation time, stun or no stun, and that makes the risk of a total whiff much more acceptable.
So, I'm not objecting to improving Flurry's stun capability UNLESS doing that would take making Flurry a cone attack off the board. If you have to do one or the other, I say make Flurry a cone attack. That's the only way you're going to make the risk comparable to the reward. THEN, if need be, improve the stun capability. (But I doubt this will be necessary.)
[/ QUOTE ]
You bring very good points. You convinced me. I think Cone would be better with such a long animation. -
Yes, i like SS because it is a multipurpose set. Basically we can say it carries +To Hit, +Dmg, range, melee, aoe, knockup, knockdown, disorient, -fly. It has a little bit of everything and like Clouded said, its well rounded out.
Not the most DPS set but certainly not a bad powerset and maybe one of the most accurate powerset there is in the game. -
[ QUOTE ]
Rage has needed a nerfbat for ages, but it's just too popular.
I'd rather see they just turn it into a +10 tohit / +40 dambuff / 0.16 eps toggle. (/ducks the whines)
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry but Rage is working just fine. You do not analyze one single power into a vaccuum. You got to take a look at the whole SuperStrength powerset.
Anyone has proof that SS is overperforming and overshadowing most other tanker secondaries or brute primaries? And i mean numerical proof. Not feelings. -
[ QUOTE ]
Flurry is useful for Controllers or MMs that can't really fill out a complete attack chain. Why you would use it in place of Sands of Mu, though, except for concept or to unlock Super Speed, I don't know.
I honestly think if it could hit multiple targets like Sands of Mu it might be treated a lot differently.
Also, if they ever get around to customizing Power Pool powers, if Flurry's animation could be given the old Storm Kick animation as an alternate, that would REALLY fit some concepts.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh yeah! The old Storm Kick animation would fit right there since it also was a very long anim.
Give it a 100% Mag 2 Stun to garantee it can disorient most minion and i could live with the non-aoe part of it. -
[ QUOTE ]
He's also ignoring that you can take any build using any powerset combo and make it solo friendly. You might be skipping powers to do so, but it can be done. It might be slow as hell before SOs and you may be stuck on the first diff, but thems the breaks.
Choosing a team based archetype and choosing to play it like a solo based archetype has disadvantages. Ignoring that fact is as stupid as driving nails into your own foot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. Totally QFT. Dispari and Bill have it right IMHO.
Oh and by the way, i insist that ANY Defender can solo on Heroic difficulty. I did it. Not saying that it is fun and fast all the time but it certainly can be done. -

Just wait until the end arc and solo Recluse. grr. That one makes Ghost Widow look like a warm-up pushover.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Recluse is a tough one for many powersets. The thing that annoyed me the most about him was his end draining attacks that kpet my toggles dropping on most of my brutes that have low defenses. But again, purples are the universal panacea. When i popped multiple purples, every EBs become easyer. I killed Recluse with my dom but i admit i used a shivan for this one since i badly needed a meat sack to keep him busy. -

I was playing nice earlier. Here's the deal. I don't like teaming. So when I do it is for a specific reason. If I feel the team will not help me accomplish whatever goal I'm going for, then I will quit. I won't give notice or anything. I'll just quit the team. I personally don't care if it is a PuG radio team or a task force. If I don't think the team directly benefits me in the way I want, then I'll just leave.
Do you know why I will do it that way?
Simple, because I see teams as nothing more than fillers to use as I see fit. When they are no longer useful, I leave. That simple. If the leader has a problem and demands an answer, I'll let him/her know. But I won't be nice about it. I will be extremely blunt and critical.
But Munki, why be so mean? Simple, because I play this game so I can have fun. As long as I'm not breaking any rules, I don't give a crap about anybody else. If somebody's day is worse off because they ran across me, I don't care. I see all of yall as nothing more than fillers on the way to accomplish my goals.
edit: The people that feel they deserve some sort of explanation are self obsessed losers. That simple.

Dominators have decent attack power. If you can dodge GW attacks and prevent her to connect with her Dark Regen, you will beat her without too much trouble.
IMHO, stacking purples ( Luck inspirations ) is the way to go if you want to solo her on lowest difficulty. 3 stacked purples give a decent mileage usually.
Also, keep stacking these mezzes on her and you WILL get her held at one point and it will give you a window where you can still blast away while not being threatened. 6 small purples probably should be enough for this fight. Bring 9 if you want to be sure. Of course, bad luck could still get you killed but that is what the challenge is about. It would not be fair if she could never injure you now would'nt it?

I have a suggestion! Do something besides farms. If you are tired of them, why do them? There's a lot more to the game than farming.
In fact, you could even pop over to Virtue and do a little bit of RPing. That adds an entirely new level to the game!

Personnaly i prefer when my in-game character abilities are put to good use and i can understand players that like playing their 50s with all the powers slotted and available to them.
But that is exactly what AE permits players to do. It IS endgame content if one wishes so. Endless different missions to do with endless different enemies to fight. But know what? Like i said earlyer, players do not seem to see AE as endgame content. What give? They do noy like because there is not enough shinies attached to it? Well then, it is not endgame content these players are looking for, they only want more shinies.
