Ah, these are the evil Longbow. As opposed to the private mercenary army illegally invading a soverign nation and attempting to overthrow its legitmate government. With flamethrowers.

But, no, the outfits look spot on. The only possible issue is that they look a lot like the Longbow Spec-Ops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention the fact their safety protocols border on nonexistent, they treat their own troops as expendable, they shoot on sight without asking questions, They have little to no regard for innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire and theyre led by a nutcase who thinks as long as you're fighting for "Justice!" you're doing the right thing.

    Good guys. yeah.

When I say xp had value, I mean that someone level 50 had experience in the game. People had respect for 50s because it took dedication, and perseverance. You actually learned how to play the game along the way. Now it just takes a few hours of farming to ding 50.
I love the idea and the game play of MA too, but the levels gained should only be for MA, pvp, and arena.
Just try starting a lvl 47 AV team like I did today. Half the players are beginners with no idea how to use tactics to win a tough fight, so they die repeatedly, put the rest of the team in jeopardy, and then quit in frustration. MA has really ruined the quality of the old gameplay, and the sense of community.

    AE: Destroyed

    [ QUOTE ]
I find it highly amusing to see several groups of poor sapps trying to farm custom boss maps this evening. I literally watched a group go in and team wipe to the hosp within mins of entering.

Why would people be trying to farm overpowered custom critters that were buffed with more powers in the recent patch?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because some people find it fun to fight insanely overpowered mobs and try to survive?

    AE: Destroyed

    [ QUOTE ]
    Wait, what?

    Destroyed?

I don't see no smoking craters in the ground.

Oh wait... the EXPLOIT got destroyed. Yeah it blowed up reeeal good, din'nit?

Sorry for your loss, brah. Now suck it up and play, or not, your choice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

actually what i think he was remarking about is the fact mobs got harder. which they did. Unless you somehow consider darkest night a better move to give minions than tar patch. >_>
  5. Pretty much. I've admittedly farmed a few characters to the 20's or late 30's for stuff. heck. I'm trying to farm a storm defender to 45 for defender only runs and such. but I cant say farming is all bad because

That defenders been on multiple runs with so many mobs that aggro caps were likely to kill us left an right.

But thats how I learned to love storm/dark for just how effective it is as keeping people alive through that
  6. it can be tons of fun if the map has some challenge to it (like so many spawns that you need a competent team to handle it.). I mean. those kind of maps are what a good defender player dreams of.

So people are using arc ratings as a new form of PvP? That's a little sad....

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Its not that really.

The problem is, to stay at 5 star, you need 4.5 or above average,

In laymans terms, this means anything but a 5 star rating is BAD
  8. [ QUOTE ]
My understanding was that only Dev's Choice frees an arc slot. HoF is just another rating (or compilation of ratings).

But I could very easily be wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hall of fame gives you a slot too.

But the second you arent in the hall of fame you lose the slot (or if you published something in it, it becomes uneditable)
  9. [ QUOTE ]
that needs changed.....it was a great arc.....

    [/ QUOTE ]
    \
    eh.

i didnt think the jokes were all that funny (no offense Muu)

Nonetheless, I agree its utter bull that he can get to HoF and then be griefed or even just hit with enough 3's to fall back out. ;/
  10. I think they should honestly be designed for whatever reason you want to design em. I designed my taskforce because I wanted a non-farm way to skip sewers while enjoying myself. Luckily others seem to enjoy it too.

The people who played the market to get rich now are paying for their greed. I say things are balancing out just nicely. One could almost call it Karma o.@

    -C.A.

....yes. I'm totally poor now with i14. ignore the fact I'm still making millions upon millions daily for no effort.
  12. Purples are supposed to be ultra rare anyhow. Its not like the casual player is ever going to want or buy a purple.

They made it apparent to the devs with exactly the same result as if they had filed a bug report.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not if they proceeded to exploit that bug to their advantage, over and over. Most responsible bug reporters don't do that.

That's like, oh, saying the bank should thank you and give you money for proving they were insecure by robbing them.

Now, maybe if the Devs awarded Bug Hunter and deleted all the new 50s... that might be fair.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. that'll work great. I mean. theres no chance at all that deleting a few hundred toons for even so much as daring to run a single farm will backlash.

see. its people like you that makes roleplayers like me look bad.

because your solution to any imagined slight isnt to be mature and talk it out. Its to suggest random bouts of dev-enabled griefing against all who dont enjoy your futa catgirl pocket D antics.

Not to mention, really., outside comm farms, farming isnt really an exploit. And comm farms are far less profitable once the patch on test releases,

    Economics

    - the rate at which tickets drop has made once valuable items drop drastically in value.

    - the market is becoming "worthless" as there are now two alternative, often much less expensive, ways to attain the rare items people need.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree about the Meow-50s. But this... this isn't a problem for me. I am not a marketeer, I don't play the market to exploit others. I am grateful for this change. I am excited, exhuberant, overwhelmingly in favor of this change.

Thank you, thank you, thank you devs for looking after the little guy. We can now support our characters, our alts, our SGs.

The marketeers can trade purples amongst themselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I consider myself a marketeer and I love this change. Its better in the long run for having more customers if the prices are something the little guy can afford to pay me.

In fact. My biggest concern is actually with the people who claim the market was ruined.

How on earth is low prices the market ruined. Do they not understand basic economics of supply and demand?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deflati...tionary_spiral

Anyone who has even a "basic" understanding of Deflation knows that it actually HURTS the "have nots" and benefits the "haves."

    [/ QUOTE ]

this implies the have nots have no way of becoming the haves.

Hint: it costs the same amount of tickets for a farmer to roll for a recipe as it does joe q newbie who just either did a farm or did a couple arcs with friends. Chances are he might get one of the chase recipes. chances are said recipe could translate into the money to buy what he needs.

Deflation only hurts the have nots supposing they have no way of generating cash at all, which in coH is so vastly false that anyone who thinks it is incorrect, wrong, and deluded.

In a market like COH, the only way to be a completely have not is to be too lazy to make any sort of effort.

also. if you honestly think nobody is doing TFs and mothership/hami, you either have no global channels, no friends, and no clue about your server, or you play on Freedom.
  16. In fact. My biggest concern is actually with the people who claim the market was ruined.

How on earth is low prices the market ruined. Do they not understand basic economics of supply and demand?
  17. Oi. This argument is just getting dumb.

Teaming isnt hard at all. Just form your own teams. PM people who have their flag up, be PROACTIVE. do NOT expect to get a team sitting around in steel canyon spamming "derp derp derp lvl 12 blaster lft plz"

as for the newbies at endgame? if theyre that bad, try to give them pointers. if theyre rude and dont listen, kick them. eventually they'll either shape up or they'll get frustrated and quit leaving only the newbies who are willing to listen.

as for content being unable to be done, thats just total bull unless you have no SG, no friends, and no access to global channels. (and possibly if you play on freedumb). On infinity TFs go on nightly, rikti raids and hamidon raids happen weekly, pugs do form, and all i14 has done is move farming to atlas instead of PI.

Lastly. the market is fine. healthier than ever in fact. yes prices are dropping. they're dropping ACROSS THE BOARD. This means EVERYTHING is cheaper, and the only POSSIBLE reasons you could find this bad is if you wanna purple out asap, or you have some compulsive urge to amass massive amounts of influence.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I was against, but not vocally against, farming.
That changed recently, when a friend of mine who does farm occasionally told me that in an eight man team, only himself and the mission leader had veteran badges of any stripe.

This means there are newbies that have never seen anything but the inside of an AE building and massive farm teams.

    Two points:
I had a level 42 corruptor, a Radition Blast/Kinetics, in a mission ask me "What do u mean SB?" and "What's Fulcrum Shift?"

I had a level 50 Brute ask me what these enhancement things that were dropping actually did.
He didn't have Stamina, but he did have Flurry, Jump Kick, and the ENTIRE Presence power pool.

Previously these things were rare and hillarious, now they are common and sad... This is what farming brings to the game, any real player's frickin' nightmare. People who step out of the AE and grab a mission full of KoA and have no idea what to do to not die repeatedly.

It's not acting as a tool for experienced players to bypass content they've already played like the farming of the standard missions was. This is a travesty, not just an exploit.

He'll either eventually get bored and quit for the next shiny or he'll eventually get beaten to death enough times to learn.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid roleplayer and soloer, but i find that generally the types who hit 50 and then do this sort of thing arent the type who'll listen to advice anyhow. Not to mention the fact that PuGs are awful anyhow and anyone insane enough to broadcast for a team is probably going to at best rack up insane debt.

And as for the crazy talk about katie hannon being ruined by hardcore farmers, lets be honest here. Unless you really have some insane want to run a gigantically large map filled with redcaps everywhere in an outdoor setting for a good 50 minutes to get your recipe or nowadays, merits, you have a far higher tolerance for fighting redcaps on an outdoor map than I do.

i would strongly support the GMs severely reducing the amount of exp/prestige/tickets on all BUT Developers choice AE arcs. City of Farmers, with no one playing the actual game, is sadly what we have become....

    [/ QUOTE ]

that is the 1 sure way to gut the MA. There are not enough people willing to wade through your pitiful rp arcs. You are not the great author you think you are. I see the people that get their sg to rate their mission all 5 star and then get a couple of 1 stars and complain. Maybe your stuff really is crap.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can bet than the MA is gonna be gut of rewards before long. Getting 7000 Tickets ( aka 2 Gold Rolls aka 2 Pool C recipes ) in less than 15 minutes of farming is simply broken.

Rewards are not balanced with the rest of the game. Any reason why MA should be more rewarding over time than any Task Forces or contact story arcs?

And about the XPs. Exploits will get fixed obviously. You really think it is normal that if i blow NPC explosives that wipe all a spawn i get full reward? It simply alot of little things like that, devs were not aware of or could not fix right away. But they will.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Honestly I cant see why they'd fix tickets. they already fixed em once because a lot of people were angry that rewards in the MA got progressively more and more worthless as team size increased.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I agree with removing it from Atlas. There is far too much broadcast spamming going on for new players to be exposed to even without AE farming spams.

I agree with moving it to Galaxy. There is very little traffic in Galaxy. Face it, most of the time your first contact sends you to Atlas right away anyway! I think moving the AE there would bring more traffic. I know there are those that probably like Galaxy to themselves, but there is a lot of good content there that is missed because there is little or no reason to go there. Galaxy was my street hunting zone from 5-10 until police missions hit, and I started heading for Kings Row to work to get a jet pack. Once I had that, it really didn't make much sense to go back to Galaxy. The AE is the hook it needs. - or maybe come missions need to be moved to drag more traffic over there. (maybe some low level arena stuff would help aide traffic through there as well).

I don't care either way about Steel at this point, so I can't make a good decision as far as that goes. - though Steel gets far more traffic than Skyway, so...

I think that level-wise, etc. that Talos is a good place for the AE. It is a nexus of sorts, so that makes it a good place for it. I would hate to see it end up at the far end of IP! (either far end!)

Since this isn't an anti-farming thread, I guess I shouldn't suggest that everyone spam ignore players that send them tells requesting them to fill so that the farmer can make more loot and the filler gets used. So I won't, people will have to come up with that idea themselves if they so desire.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How would moving the farms to Galaxy make people do the galaxy content though? if anything that means people would simply roll galaxy, blitz past galaxy levels in seconds and never see the content.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
If the lag hadn't rendered me completely useless, this might have been fun. Why have these huge events and spawn multiple random GMs and AVs if the servers can't handle it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    sounds more like your pc.

I have friends who were running on max graphical settings with a teched out computer and still getting 10-20 frames
