Energizing Ion, and other fans wondering about why no Market Merge, they did say that there are reasons with database issues that would create problems.
...
So technical reasons rather that design one. Still booo -
Issue 17 will change Defenders inherent system to make them solo better

Q: With supergroups, how will the new alignment system with members deciding to go rogue affect the supergroups?
A: If you switch sides, you get temporarily removed from your group; if you switch back, you're back with all your prestige included. -

Q: Any plans for PvP getting some changes?

A: It is something on the slate, but it will be a couple of Issues from now. Base Raids, Items of Power are also planned on being repurposed but fixed.
Also no market merger (confirmed yet again boo) -
By the way I'm also against the 'bind on use' type mechanic, which is why I can see the 10 IO limit remaining.
With constant new drops added, there has to be a mechanic that removes drops from free circulation.
Just as you need inf sinks you need item sinks.
The two ways to do this, are basically 'bind on use' (or the worst case bind on pickup), or putting a significant wall into removing and reusing them.
I didn't post this yesterday, as I am interested in others opinions on the topic, and didn't want to skew that thread with my own. -
Don't forget Atlas, Galaxy and Kings Row have had minor revamps.
Spawns were changed, longbow and police patrols added that actually fight mobs.
Made the intial zone experience feel much more 'alive' than previously.
Even expanding this basic tech throughout the other city zones would be significant progress in changing the 'feel' of the outdoors experience. -
The difference I think is that there is a disconnect between what the playerbase things is a revamp and what the dev team's standards for a revamp is. Then again I think the playerbase expectation differs by zone.
Take Dark Astoria:
Add 4 contacts, with story arcs maybe a 5th for a TF, maybe not.
Playerbase cheers that DA has been 'revamped'. For no more work than adding 4 new contacts anywhere else.
Boomtown:
this would require rejigging the main zone map for construction sites, Adding contacts, changing spawns. This would be at least as much work as Faultline was.
I don't think the 4 contacts and call it good would be well received by the players here. -
Unless I am misunderstanding the exploit is even easier
Roll say 20 recipes (200 merits) then cash any you don't want back for merits based off their direct buy price.
Then repeat
Any 'merit return' for a recipe has to be less than the cost of a random roll. -
The M203 grenade launcher (under an M16) can be use for plastic bullets/stun shot also certain types of these weapons can use oversized shotgun shells for buckshot
OK maybe they aren't called bean bags but the tech for an assault rifle to use em exists today.
The AR set is clearly inspired by 'Aliens', specifically the final sequence where Ripley takes a Pulse rifle and tapes a Flame thrower to it and goes hunting the little girl.
http://www.altrion.org/max/aliens/tec-personal.html
has data on the weapons there.
In a world where interdimensional travel is the norm for us, the AR set really isn't a technological leap.
And I find the set enormous fun, my first level 50 blaster was AR and he still gets played a lot. -

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Sun_Splitter again.

The Hive really doesn't belong on a list of forgotten zones.
It has a single purpose, that of hosting a Hami-raid, which is all that should be there. -
That was the obvious question to ask.
I have noticed that certain teleport powers get interupted when someone places an O-zone portal down and goes through it when close to you.
I haven't tried this with the Wents porter, but will try to duplicate the result using this method. -
Question thrown out generally:
Would you trade the ability to pull IOs out of a build at minimal cost for making set-IOs bind on equip ?
IOs are the equivalent of gear in many other MMOs. There the standard seems to be 'easy to change, but things are bound on equip' (or the even worse bind on pickup)
I doubt we will get a much more flexible system to pull IOs out without having them bound to an individual character. -
Well at 22 the options are limited, and 20-25 would be the best.
You may want to considered holding off on the rolls until level 30-33, and recipes at that level will sell better than most low level ones. -
With 59 merits you can't buy any specific recipes.
You are 1 merits off 3 random rolls, Hop on a GM team and get 2 for that then roll em. -
I disagree with Galaxy, I much prefer starting there.
Another zone that needs some love is Dark Astoria.
4 contacts with a short 4-5 mission arc, and maybe a TF. -

Also punching stuff in the face, gets you drops of SO and recipes. Punching the right stuff gets you SOs which tned to be of your origin (ie Circle of Thorns for Magic SO) -
Adding new stuff affects the current situation, and may require adjustments to the current powers/enhancements/inherents/whatever to bring things back into balance.
The only truly balanced MMO is a stagnant/dead one. -
Besides the fact that it is never going to happen
Balancing is not one shot and forget.
Subsequent changes/additions to the game affect the balance, and so may require future adjustements.
So not only is it never going to happen, it simply cannot happen if we are ever to expect future additions to the game -
Quote:How about build-up ?I just checked, and unless the Combat Attributes are wrong, resistance enhancements are *not* enhancing that piece. I'm getting the appropriate 6% res total from two of them on my Tanker. And my total Psi Res is adding up correctly.
Damage and damage resist being two sides of the same coin. -
Castle:
There was a bug where the uniques were/are being affected by the other enhacements
March 2nd live patch notes:
Quote:The same bug affect the Miracle and Regen tissues, so the assumption is that those will get fixed as well.Invention
* Fixed a bug that would cause Numina's Convalescence: +Regen/+Recovery to have its effects boosted by being slotted in a power with enhancements that would increase regeneration or recovery rates.
