As I said before, weekdays are better for me, BUT!
Evvvvvery so often I can make a Sunday night. If we've got enough folks already running around due to ship raiding, that's a plus. I'll do what I can to make the next one.

Quote:Somebody needs a hug. This is an open message to anyone prepared to sell basic IOs in Wentworth for very little profit.
In particular I'll address the most used level 50 basic IO - Recharge.
Selling level 50 recharge IOs for 300,000 or less is IMO not very clever. At the rate you're earning (only accounting for the time you actually spend making the enhancements and posting them) you'd be far far better off spending your time doing task forces for merits (and inf) and then spending the merits on Miracle +Recovery IOs and selling them for around 200 million a shot.
What you're doing is a relative waste of your time. You'll find players will pay 400,000 and even if you aren't the only one selling at that price you'll still be getting a much better return on your investment of time.
PS. If your intention is to undercut everyone else trying to make a reasonable profit, to drive us out of the market so you can then raise your prices and still have the whole market then you can forget it, because I'm not going anywhere (and I very much doubt I'm the only one). I'm going to keep checking the prices in Wentworth, forcing you to grind away your time as that's the only way you're going to keep me from making a reasonable profit from my time. You want to work at this like it's a real job? Be my guest. It's your time to waste. When I'm not checking the market I'll be the one doing TFs and making your rate of return look pathetic.
Seriously mate- check the sig. -
Aaron Williams
He's already a player, and gives you guys some free press whenever a new issue pops out.
In an ideal world, he'd get to do a PS238 arc, but I'd be happy with anything he cares to throw at us. -
I would be much more likely to be able to make a weeknight raid than a weekend one. Granted, that means the chance of my participation is only about 50%, but that's so much more likely than the 5% it'd be on a Saturday.
I can tank or scrap as needed, but I haven't been on a hami raid since before they were changed. This means I am rather emphatically volunteering to NOT be any kind of team lead! -

Thank you very much, Stoney!
Moar rep bonus for joo! -
With the advent of all the new exploration badges, I thought it'd be an appropriate time to indulge in a little wishful thinking. If you were a dev, where would YOU put an exploration badge? Plus appropriate title and explanation, naturally.
Diligent explorers are even now searching out all the corners of the maps in beta, so we only have a little window before the beans start getting spilled.
To start with, I'd put one here in Cap Au Diable:
Alone on a Deserted Isle: The Rogue Isles have never been noted for coastal safety services. Seafarers must exercise extreme caution in these territories or risk more solitude than is preferable.
Something more linked to Cap Au Diable's history might be more appropriate, but you get the idea. -
OK, fair enough. I just don't want us old buggers scaring off the newbs, is all.
Threatening to grief an event just seemed a disproportionate response to spamming, and I was curious if I'd missed some hidden dramz. I'm dense that way, so typically, I do. -
Yeah,
I don't mind losing so much as being fed bad info. I'm going to take the view that that was a miscommunication on Kadabra Kill's part and not a mislead. Put it down to experience please, organizers, and make sure your players know when you mean launchpad and when you mean code-key computer.
What *was* a mislead was the fact that this event morphed into PvP. I would have played a different character, one that does NOT become a threat to his own allies, had I known from the start that we were going to be forced into PvP. At *least* tell us if we're supposed to be in competition with the opposing side or not. If we'd known it was a race between Vanessa and KK, characters like mine who don't play well with others in Warburg could have peeled off to wreak havoc on the opposition.
To any fellow heroes whom I accidentally nailed with one of my AoEs, I apologize.
To the folks running this show- please learn from your mistakes and make the next one better. -
GAH! Warn a brother before you post that sparkly, Vexxxy!
*head asplodes from teh cute*
On the more relevant side, there are a few folks hitting villainside regularly on Tuesdays at 8 pm. More are always welcome! -
Why are you pissed off that someone else is excited about an event?
-
OK
Put me down for a space, I'm about 70/30 sure I can make it. I'll be bringing Tattered Man, 50 spines/dark scrap. -
Given Paragon City's penchant for gargantuan heroic statuary, I thought it would only be appropriate to submit a request for this:
I'm not sure which zone deserves it most, but our GMs definitely deserve the statue - appropriately reworded, of course.
THANK YOU, GMS!
YOUR UNCEASING VIGILANCE IS ALREADY MONUMENTAL!! -
Any time estimates for this? I maaaay be free for a few hours Saturday, and it's one of the ones I've never done.
-
Can't make it tonight for another hour or so- my son's using the computer to catch up on a week or two worth of snowed out homework. Will be in eventually, just not sure exactly when.
-
I swear this is what the last 2 days have felt like:
For those of you who, like me, may have been bemoaning your wintry fate, the above picture is from a Russian hydroelectric dam. They had an explosion earlier in the year, and now winter has set in. Russian winter, on a malfunctioning dam.
Yeah, I'll be shutting up now about my miserable couple of feet of snow.
The rest of the pics of this dam -
Quote:Y'all is southern (lots of planets have a south) and is actually more grammatically correct than some teachers might want you to think. It's an abbreviated form of 'you all' and is properly used when you're talking to a group. Any time you hear someone use y'all to refer to one person, you can tell immediately that they're a northern poseur.
A few weeks ago i posted on here that all i wanted was snow. A week of the country coming to literally a stand still and i hate it now! I have to walk down such a steep hill and at 5am [when i wake up for work], the ice is VERY slippery lets just say!!!! Stupid ice and snow bruised my bottom!!!!
But yeah keep safe ya'll!
[Edit: Is ya'll American btw?]
You got it right, so you get to claim honorary suthiner status. -
With the snow battening down all our hatches, I may be able to make a weekend event for once. If possible, I'll be online with Tattered Man, 50 spines/dark scrapper, looking to snag my second-ever Shard TF.
-oh, and I've no particular preference for which team. Assign me as needed, please. -
I bring you greetings from the snowbound wilderness of...
...Washington, DC.
o.O
We're getting a 2-foot dumping of the white stuff right now. It's the second of the season. A *single* 2-foot snowfall is normally a once-a-decade event around here. Our parking lot still has leftover lumps of ice from the one that pounded us on Christmas Eve.
So there's some amount of nervousness afoot as our weathercasters toss around sentences like, "We expect 20-30 inches of accumulation and there's another storm on it's way Monday night."
Needless to say, your government in action is about to become your government inaction. The Capitol is safe, given its natural defensive cloud of hot air, but us poor suburbanites are doomed. DOOOOOOMED!!!!
Personally, I blame the Winter Lord events. The devs pissed him off somethin' fierce, and he's wreaking his revenge.
Anyhoo, stay safe out there, folks. -
Thanks for the heads up! I'll be ready to be flexible with my teaming Tuesday. If nothing else, I'll see what I can do about catching up on your Inferno story arc.
And for any of you other folks who may still be reading us, our first preference is still villain teaming on Tuesday at 8 Eastern, with a heavy leaning towards Heroes, SFs and otherwise hard missions. -
I've been looking for a picture to post of this, but am failing miserably. You can't go wrong with space vikings, especially those whose longship is so huge other ships bounce off of it like bugs on a windshield.
-
The heck with the romans and their Chimer... Cimor... er... whatever it's called zone.
We need VIKINGS!!!
Warning: large pictures ahead, full of awesome vikingness plus horses that are braver than I am, friend.
Someone needs to send a memo to the 5th Column- their next time fortress had better be viking infested, or they're in big trouble. -
Quote:Another 60 month vet here, and I can testify that I've received no e-mails notifying me of any sort of start date. Now, I'm not one of the above-mentioned super posters (I think I'm averaging about a post a day over the last 63 months) and lord knows I'm an awful beta tester. When it finally starts up, I'll be the guy telling them which bits of the spiffy new stuff does not work on my ollllld machine. So, if there *is* an alpha I'm certainly not in it.I agree with this. There have been some regulars absent as of late. The only one that still posts that I would suspect is Arcanaville. They said that 60+ mo vets, and those witht eh loyalty badge (I have both) would be in closed, and I and many I know are not (if it is going).
There are members of these boards that most time can't resist making snide comments, and much of what has been said lately attracts them like flies to poo. It is possible that they left, or are taking a break, but again I doubt it.
But my memories from the last couple big builds (CoV, Inventions, Architect) is that the alphas consist of family and friends of the dev team. I really don't think there's a secret cabal set up and perking in the background. -
OK, folks!
It's Tuesday again, and I'll be in playing at the standard times, 8-10 pm Eastern. Dunno how many of you all are still out there and available, but if you're looking for villainside action, today's the day! -
I know I'm not the only one who feels that all the "Special Events" have become less... special.
After whomping on Winter Lords for a month, people are tired of them. Presents? Just lying around in the gutters, being ignored.
Anyone remember the Halloween fatigue that set in last Thanksgiving?
And now here come the Rikti, Aaaaa-gain...
(How long will it be 'til Valentine's Day gets here? Get ready to break out those togas...)
I'm calling this the Sydrome Syndrome, named for Syndrome, from the Incredibles:
Quote:Here in CoX, it goes like this:And when I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll sell my inventions so that *everyone* can have powers. *Everyone* can be super! And when everyone's super--
[chuckles evilly]
--no one will be.
Quote:When there's a special event every day-- [Positron chuckles evilly]
-- no event's special.
Something I'd like the powers-that-be to consider: If you want your events to be special, then dammit, don't drag them out for so long and/or don't repeat them so often. You're slowly painting yourselves into a corner where 'normal play' becomes the special event.
Alternatively, if you feel pressure to be fair to new players and make events more readily available, then slap them into Oroboros somehow. Surely the Menders can focus their time travel abilities onto a particular holiday where things were going berserk, yes?
That way, anyone who wants a particular badge or goodie can fire up an instanced event and grab it, *and* the calendar is cleared for new game-wide events to be designed and implemented.
I dunno, maybe that's not possible or desirable from the dev point of view.
But I do think there can be too much of a good thing, and the good things are starting to wear out their welcome.
