Galaxy City Sendoff Party
Friday 8/26 10pm est.
This friday night lets give Galaxy City a send off that Paragon City will remember for years. For one hour lets make Galaxy City the safest place in Paragon City. Citizens will walk about with no fear, birds will sing and the PPD will have nothing to do but eat donuts.
The Cunning Plan:
We form a league and sweep the zone clean of crime. Every Clockwork is cleaned. Every Vahzilok is hospitalized. Every Hellion is harried. All Infected are cured. No crime is left unpunished, every villain sent to the Zigg. The Magi vault goes unrobbed for one whole hour! The streets are made safe for the citizens of Galazy city for one brief shining moment .... Hey! What is that glowing object in the sky?
Pinnacle has the best community in the game. We cream the itrials, we crush Hamidon, we clobber task forces. Lets see if we can clear a complete zone for an hour.
Details:
* Try for level appropriate characters or exemplared down. If this isn't possible we will form some higher level teams for quick clearing of areas away from the low level league.
* Meet up under Galaxy Girl at 10pm est. and we clean until 11pm.
* We will hit all the badge spots if you want to get them before the comet hits.
* If we can get some GM support we may see some Rikti and or Zombies.
How can you help?:
Turn up and help us clean up Galaxy City! I can use team captains if anyone is interested. PM me here or in game at @Feisty Wombat.
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in Atlas Park now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Galaxy City's day. -
A slightly different perspective. I have had more team invites in the last week than I have had in the last several months on Pinnacle and thought this was a good sign that people are coming back. These were not Pinnbadges call outs, these were tells from folks looking to put together teams. No joke. I play in the est evening time however, so my experience is different than the OP.

Azuria: Spends all her off time wondering if she remembered to lock the vault.

I like the new one much better than Outbreak. I always warned new players that that game got much better after the tutorial. The lack of variety, the useless NPCs all frustrated me. That said, I still went for the badge on most every character I created and have spent many hours running round the little back courtyards and the like. I have some fond memories of Outbreak, but I will not miss it and like the new one much better. I am not at all convinced that leaving it in would be worth the developers work time.

We are all on Comic book time so 'soon' doesn't really matter, but if we wait until the issue is announced it may too late to pull off. Lets try to find a spot in the next couple of weeks to try to clear our Galaxy City for an hour or so. Here are my thoughts.
- We try to eliminate every criminal in Galaxy City.
- We do it with level appropriate characters, so no incarnates blasting the poor Skulls.
- We check in with the community reps and see if we can get an event or two during the time. Invasions, zombies and the like.
For a couple of hours every citizen in Galaxy City is as safe we can make them. No purses are snatched, no citizens kidnapped by Vahzilok, no Clockwork menace, just a safe zone for citizens. When the comet hits we will be able to say we gave Galaxy a proper send off.
I am open to suggestions for a time, I would suggest 10pm on Friday the 26th, does that work? -
Sure, but not this weekend. Lets see if we can clear every mob from the zone and make it a safe place to be for its citizens for a brief moment before the invasion.

Superdine, gonna score me some Superdine. I know this Hellion who says he can hook me up...

As a player if you want to keep me playing I need more [Redacted] and a heck of a lot less [Redacted]. I am pleased to hear we are finally going to see more [Redacted] but the new [Redacted] leaves me cold. I know, I know the devs can be expected to make everyone happy, but players love [Redacted] and it wouldn't be hard to implement at all*. Past 21 I am desperate for more content in the [Redacted] range, with something for [Redacted] players as well as for players that like [Redacted]. I don't mind paying to play as long as it is a good value and cost more than [Redacted].
* Not hard for me anyway as I am a player and have no idea how it really works. -
A bit rich for me. If we can do a peasants version at some point I would give it a go.

Not seeing the tab. This may have slipped out before they are really set up.

If speed of finding a team is the only consideration I do recommend Virtue and Freedom, it is normally quick and easy to team on either when the other servers are slow. I play on Pinnacle because I know the folks there. I use the player ratings for every team or TF I am on and I get to know who is who and how they play. On Virtue I was part of a SG, and got the same experience, but it has dwindled and now the only community I can say I really know well is on Pinnacle, so I almost always play there. The game is more fun for me when I play with people I know, even if it is only virtually.
As others have said, join the PinnBadges channel and I think you will see there is quite a bit more than just trials going on, even in the slow times you can often get something rolling by just calling out on the channel. Good luck and good hunting! -
I am having map serves during the cut scene for the BAF trial about half the time I try to enter the trial. Often I will be joined by a couple of others who have crashed out as well. We used to be able to attempt to rejoin the trial, but that seems to be gone now in the LFG tab. I am running Lambdas with no issue. I run on a Windows XP box if that helps you all with diagnosing the issue. This problem seems to have started with the 20.5 patch, before that I was running fine. Would love to know someone is looking at this and if there are any settings I can try to lessen the problem.

This is very good, you should post it up over in the guides section.

You made the right choice. We at Arachnobot Labs don't call them Toxic Tarantulas we call them TAwesome Tarantulas! Nothing says happiness like a big old pack of giant mechanical spiders leaping on your prey.
As for storm elementals and their hurricane, wouldn't it be fun to do a trial with everyone using these? They said I was mad at the Academy, well I will show them! I will show them all! -
I use a variation of Redlynne's build and have had a blast with. The defense is great, I rarely watch my health as it normally never drops much even in huge crowds. I play for crowds, I love missions with millions of folks in them as between burst, frag and venom grenades I am clearing swaths of folks at a time. I use the lower level IOs as well and it really helps when exemping down, I hadn't paid much attention in my earlier characters and I really notice it with this one.
As far as copying the build goes, I look at builds for ideas and good combinations, so I use similar IOs in powers but rarely a straight copy of Redlynne's or anyone else's. I get most of my IOs from tip merits, but at 50 I would say I have spent around 200 to 300 million for recipes and salvage I couldn't get on my own. I have an alternate Bane build I use for PVP, the Huntsman is a crowd killer and I didn't do well with in in PVP, but as hard as my Bane build hits a single target I just have more fun wiping out crowds with the Huntsman for day to day work.
For end game content such as trials I work crowds as normal, but also use debuffs like Surveillance and Darkest Night (Soul Mastery patron power) as nice debuffs as well. Between steady solid damage, debuffs and my team buffs I find I am popular on Trials and quickly finished filling out my incarnate slots.
To wrap up, why play a huntsman? It is a very fun build with great survivability and excellent crowd clearing powers. Copying? Steal ideas and tweak the build to suit your own style of play. End-game? No issues at all at getting groups or contributing in an obvious way. -
Quote:I have a two part name as well and was failing with emails until I stopped using the underscore and started to use spaces. Try @Ar Kain and see if that works.I must have missed the memo. I haven't been able to do a funds transfer in a long time. Was there a change from "@Ar_Kain" for mailing to yourself or was that dropped?
I tried a search. It wasn't that I couldn't find any info, it's just that so much came up that wasn't relevant -

Mender Steelclaw was not loved in Ouroboros as he openly mocked Mender Ramiel's jodhpurs and Mender Silo's pencil eraser haircut and thus he was cast out and left to communicate with potential incarnates only through the forums.

They also said that only one badge would be available for purchase, a free 'I used the store' badge. That would seem to imply that we won't be buying vet badges. No definitive statement on exactly how it will work, but I suspect they will just separate the rewards from the badges.
-
This system should work well. Can't see why this would bother anyone, it is clearly explained when you start the game up.
-
This is an interesting one and I am of mixed mind here. On one hand I think that buying vet badges sounds terrible, either you should be a vet or you shouldn't. I say this as someone with only a middling vet status (39 months) not as long timer. On the other hand they have set a precedent for getting older event badges after the event. I killed a lot of snowmen to get my holiday badges for instance. The main distinction I can see is that I had to put my time in on the snowmen to get the badges, but if it is just a case of dropping a twenty on them the chase will be much less appealing to me.
If I were the one to make the call I wouldn't cut off the vet badges at all, I would just separate them from the rewards that come with them now and make them only available to VIP members. If that is unworkable I would cut them off as of the change over. Perhaps later a method could be put in game for VIPs to claim further time badges as their account aged, perhaps in Oro.
Currently when I see someone with a long time vet badge set, I Know they are truly vets and that they really have put in the time. It would be sad if it just meant they had spare cash.
