I'm doing nothing of the sort, i think the tweaks that need to happen to invul are small, and as far as i know already under consideration at NorCal.
also, why should tanks be team players? for the AVs and the like yes, but for regualr mobs? no, they are ment to be the toughest AT in the game, and at the moment i don't think invul lives up to that title. -
[ QUOTE ]
Base S/L resistance, 42.5% x 1.56 for SO slotting = 66.%
Defense from invince, 10 mobs + Tough Hide = 26% x 1.56% for slotting = 40.56%, -5% for unyealding = 35.56%
Statistcally, 1% def is equivelent to 2% res, = 71.12%.
Combine with resistance, remembering to reduce the total, because an attack that has been defended against does not need to be resisted. 71.12 + 66.3x(100-71.12)/100 = 90.3%

ahh, the "1% def equals 2% res" thing is utter rubbish, and if you rely on it to know how your character plays, your going to die a lot. -
Working please, because frankly from some 2500 hours of playing a invul tanker, i would massively doubt those figures.
-
yes, on top of the mighty 15% they get from unyeilding, what [censored] stats, how could they ever fall in battle?
-
the passives, even on tanks are pathetically weak, i think you can get up to 12% res off them 3 slotted with IO's, that's not a good return for the investment.

Ivun:
Unenhanced maximum 112.5% resistance to S/L, 82.5% resistance to F/C/E/N/P.
Elec, not available to tankers, brute gets maximum 78.8% resistance to most damage types. with tanker multipliers this would be higher than invun, but in practice they would be equal, since they would both hit the cap when slotted. But without any self heal, max hp buff, or +def, elec would be far far weaker, apart from vs psi damage, where elec is way ahead.

yeah, and for how long of any given period is that? whats that you say? only 3 mins? at which point you are massively easy to kill?
when did unstop become perma? or are you just so obsessed with that you haven't recalled that sometimes you are fighting for more than three minuets at a time? and if you suddenly have to bounce out of combat you will possibly get the rest of the team killed? -
...what? invul does not have the best resistances at all, it's barely 30% to anything except S/L... how is that good?
I'm pretty sure Elec has by far the best resistances, and no, the pathetic amount of def invul gets does not make up for it. -
well the borg are the archetype for the homogenizing swarm.

tonight I was on a team. Anyway, someone had to drop which meant his sidekick had to go to because there was no-one else to replace his mentor.
It got me thinking (although this has occurred to me before) why have side kicking at all?
After all, if you want to team and there are two players but you cant SK them both, then they lose out.
if, as happened tonight and does so frequently, the mentor drops, the SK loses out.
Not to mention it is still the best way to power level, which is hardly what the game needs, seeing as you can go through to 50 so fast these days anyway.
Why not just make it that if you join a team and the mission level is higher than you, then you are auto "mentored" by the mission itself? To maybe 1 level below the mission level.
Or Maybe to one level below the threat inside the mission.
It would mean you cant farm with a sidekick outside missions but that's against the spirit of the game anyway.
And look at how much easier it would be to get teams, fill teams etc. and how it would prevent the frustration of young players who are suddenly dumped, (or fall out of SK range while in mish. Remember why that range wqas put there in the first place. It wouldnt apply here.)
And the younger player still benefits abiet not as much as earlier.
It makes sense to me... Opinions?

honestly, the system that the studio that you hate the most (Cryptic) came up with for their next super hero MMO seems the best way, allow one person to Sk multipul people. -

all we would need is Nathan Fillion and a tub of Belgian chocolate sauce...
[/ QUOTE ]
Is he in the tub? *crosses fingers*
[/ QUOTE ]
yes, once the trap is primed he will be in the sauce. then we wait! -
wooo! an excuse to come to england! i could do one of the weekends in November, or after the new year.
we could go DW hunting! all we would need is Nathan Fillion and a tub of Belgian chocolate sauce... -

I totally can't wait to not sleep and play videogames again.

i mean when else do you get to do that? mind you, i do look forward to kicking [censored] on Rock band if they have it. -
So were are they? i see nothing but no's here.
-
agreed, hell i one of the players that left (the lack of content above 50 was troubling) but it's far from a crash and burn, Auto Assault, now that was a crash and burn.
-
have you not install Sp1?
again, most of these problems were long ago resolved but if your just running a base install of Vista 64, it won't help -
uh, AoC still has about 350k subscribers, if that's crashing and burning, what are we still doing here?
still, for what i use this game for, CO could serve me much better, and i wouldn't have played everything in to the dirt, but it has to actually deliver. -
well i just found my first post for fail blog...

Ah hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... best joke ever... -
yeah... the 8500 is a bit of a dog, and the reason it's so cheap is the fact that it isn't as capable as the chip on the 8800 or even the 8600...
-
they aren't anything to do with the memory (that just for Texture res really) it's more about the GPU, what card is it? the 8800GT?
