  1. Pocket D is basically for Event based missions (which themselves tend to be test cases for new Tech coming into the game). I'm not sure I'd like it as anything else really.

I sincerely hope there will be a Mission Architect terminal in there though.

    Didn't i tell you i am weird.

It is because of my sense of smell, those both has repulsive odors for my taste. I think this is why most people hate celery, garlic or thyme which i love most in my cookings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ack. Celery! My most hated of vegtables. The only good place for celery is in a stock.

(I'm also not fond of thyme. Too perfumed for me. Which is slightly ironic given it is generally the only herb which managed to survive the winter in my little herb patch).
  3. [ QUOTE ]

In terms of orange numbers WS's are a fair bit ahead but one of my Defiant SG mates runs a Dwarf PB and he's quite capable of being the main tank in most situations, including the LGTF with little problem. If I tried that with my WS it'd be... messy. Especially once I ran into an AV.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually managed to properly Tank my first AV last night doing a 4 man Nemises Rex arc. Was touch and go for a long time with me Siphoning desperetely at a constant sliver of health (and just spamming Taunt and the heavier melee attack), but my team saved my [censored] a few times, giving me precious blues at one point.

Our Kinetics controller was down for the count for half the battle too until the leader TPed him out of danger. Once the Kin was back up Health and End were sorted, I could spam all my attacks including Dwarf Mire and down Nemises Rex went.

Hurrah for excellent teamwork (they did most of the work really, all I did was spam Taunt and Heal for the most part and let him hit me).

And boo to AVs. They really are annoying to a Warshade since so many of your cool powers are bugger all use. Mind you that's probably fair enough considering what a WS can do for the rest of the mission with all the juicy Mirebait hanging around in nice convenient clusters.

Also I was thinking why I *wouldn't* like Black Dwarf Mire to get a Taunt. I use it quite a lot as a prelude to a shapeshift & Nuke or Hold -> Corpse Explosion combo. Don't think I'd like those hit by the Mire to suddenly focus their ire on me as I'm shifting into Human form.

It'd be nice for when you are the main tank in a group but for the most part I end up either off-tanking or just form dancing and I've rarely thought "Man, I wish I could taunt more of them".
  4. [ QUOTE ]
    1) Thanks, so it's really workable. (Actually I got the idea after running radio mishes in Steel Yes, sometimes re-siphoning is a problem, but it's still faster than lowbie flight or jump, and if the siphon misses, my raptor is keybound .)

    2) I meant who gets buff from the global enhancement, not from the power. Sorry, wasn't clear...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1) With the Raptor pack its viable. Before it it used to be really annoying as you'd start Talos / IP with everything conning red and purple to you making relying on Siphoning a risky (and tedious) business.

    2) You do, it never affects teammates. I think it's "always on" too.

Longbow and carnies (the lady with the burn torch) also have burn indeed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Erk, Carnies and Longbow. That blows that idea of the water so. Pets would get flambed and there's nothing a Controller or Dom could do to save them.

    ITBL.

There is already a discussion thread for CO in the off topic forum.

Oh, and I heared Bioware is developing a MMO called SW:TOR

I got told ( not saying it is true) if over 95% of us leave for TOR then all other MMOs in the universe might stop running.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If TOR has the same sort of ragdoll effects that Mass Effect does I'll be off anyways.

Now THAT'S how Gravity Control should work
  7. Are ye going to keep referring it to Spring Fling?

It sounds like some bizarre local village Slinky Throwing competition (along the lines of bog swimming, cheese rolling etc, etc)

"Around these parts we loves a bit of Spring flinging we does. That there's Inbred O'Shaughensey, Champion Spring Flinger for the last 5 year"

Well, on the subject of how different people handle movement...

I use W/S for forward/back; A/D for strafing; and the mouse with right-button depressed for rotating about my character's axis.

Each to their own, I say.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I agree with Shadowe.

It's not like playing the game is life-or-death rocket science, who cares if people want to use WASD, the arrow keys or 5678 (if they're an old Speccy user who misses the Cursor Keys)?

Could you give Pets Afraid resistance?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but thet would make them immune to all fear effects.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It'd make them immune to all Afraid effects, not necessarily Terrorized (aka "Stand there quivering" ones).

I'm not sure that'd be a bad thing, except for vs Scrapyarders. And I think only Villains 20-30 meet scrapyarders so only Henchies would be affected there and you can order them to move.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
So how would it work with bots or mercs that prefer ranged? Would be really nice since mm's get immobs in their patrons.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really well. If you've pets with Ranged Damage it's a beast of a power. Even without an immob since you've a -Run Speed in it plus a -Run Speed in Glue Arrow (a fairly huge one too). It's like a vicious version of a Rain of... power.

And the Assult Bot can light it for you (but I'd still go Tech or magic origin so you can light it yourself. Was teamed with a TA Defender during the week who wasn't Tech / Magic and had no way of lighting their own slicks, which must be really annoying).

All they need to do is remove the fear code from Henchmen and Player Pets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The fear code isn't in the pets, it's in the power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could you give Pets Afraid resistance?

Other than Caltrops and burny patches I don't think I've ever seen anyone use an Afraid mez on pets anyway

Actually why don't pets also flee your Caltrops / Hotfeet / Rain of Stuff powers?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Awesome, did they test the proc out at all?
So its safe to assume that the other proc works the same as perfomance shifter one? If so thanks to the buyer that bought it for 20 mill when i got it as a random roll.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I dunno really. Who does? Obviously not the devs.

You'd think after the Performance Shifter behaviour (& the Taunt set ones) they'd at least test the damn new PROCs they release.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Why hasn't this still been fixed. All they need to do is remove the fear code from Henchmen and Player Pets. Job done.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Scrapyarders and their ilk?

I know mentioning the power makes Castle sob like a little girl so for some reason it seems to be more complex than that (no idea why though)
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I think Aid Self is better than any of the epic armors.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    On a Fire/Kin?

I tend skip them as well though, my Fire/Rad is the only one who has taken an epic armour, mostly because it was taken before they added Seismic Smash.

Earths is one of the nicer ones though as it gives some chance of deflecting some melee attacks with sneaky mezzes built into them.

    Best debuffer?

    [ QUOTE ]
my reply was to cognito, didnt see yours and disruption field is an ally targeted anchor.
    Disruption Field
Toggle: Ranged (Target Ally AoE), Foe -Res

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ooops. Yep, you're right.

    *gets glasses*

    *and a new brain*

That's better (actually its probably not)
  16. Carnifax

    Best debuffer?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Sonic has the highest -res, interestingly, giving you 2 x -30% res debuffs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
disruption field requires an anchor and those are defender numbers
    [ QUOTE ]
Trick Arrow is second (and in some ways better due to more area) with a -20% small AoE and -20% huge AoE

    [/ QUOTE ]
you do know the numbers differ depending on at?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Disruption Field does not require an anchor. It's a placeable. (I already made the point about the figures, 15% a pop for Controllers and, if it ever becomes available to them, Corrupters).

There are no real anchor powers in Trick Arrows : Glue arrow is the closest but its not an anchor, its a targetted AOE which used to have a bug which made it seem like a toggleless anchor (the patch used to disappear when the initial target was killed, but that was fixed).

*Edit : Ignore all this, me no read so good.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I'm struggling to think of another Accurate Heal power beyond those two.

oh, Dark melee Heals... any other?

kind of annoying that the bug still occurs, mind I knew it would so never even considered the proc for my build anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All the darkity-dark heals, so the Siphons & Drains in Dark Melee, Dark Blast and the 2 in the Warshade primary and in Dwarf form. Think that's them all.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I'm going to look back at this thread at the end of the year and have a good giggle.

    *ahem*

I can vouch for what Ex Libris has said with regards the dev team having too tight a schedule to put in any new content for Spring Fling 2009.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kerensky used to make posts like this too
  19. It's incredibly bad design on the Devs part since two of the major powers this set was made to enhance work in this way (Kinetics & Dark heals).
  20. [ QUOTE ]
I completely agree. Ever since the NC acquisition, new stuff has been thin on the ground, and holiday events aren't that interesting. Apart from the Zombie Invasion, which was awesome, but it ain't exactly like that took a lot of work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And was random as hell in terms of storyline. I mean was all that about? Why are zombies returning from the grave just because some hero got themselves another costume?
  21. [ QUOTE ]

well, when they stepped onto the micro-transaction slope, the goal posts changed for them. before, the little extras they included - special events costumes, badges, temp powers and such were just that - extras. a little bonus to the playing community. now? now they know that a significant chunk of that community will pay extra, there is no incentive for them to work on and publish extra bonus content. i'm well into my third year here, still new by may posters standards, but i'm afraid that my perception of NCSoft's corporate policy as regards it's players has suffered considerably recently.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. For me it was when they took an existing game mechanic (Respecs) and rather than making it easily more accessible by making the last trial reward repeatable chose to charge for them instead.

    "Ok, you've had enough"
  25. I agree with ML. They carped on about how the Dev team was greatly increased last year, since then we've seen fewer Issues per year and now rehashed events. Seems the more devs they add the slower they get.

A "Kill Baby New Year for getting lost somewhere in the tunnels all those times" mish would be nice for example
