I count myself lucky, then, that one random blueside MA invite I received recently was from someone play-testing his missions with a full group.

When you have an eight-man team in the mid-teens and the leader/author says "this boss stopped my lvl30 scrapper", then you know you're in trouble

That's not a farm though, that's more like those teams you join and you see a stream of "Oh ^&^%*%" and "Rez Please" along with "Yay, more people". The level 12s lead by someone 2 levels higher than them, running on Invincible for the 'great XP'.

I have noticed a huge drop in invites for lowbies in Atlas. But any Farming tells I do get state "Hi. Looking for Farm?" rather than being just a random blind invite, which is a good thing.

Villains side mid-20s/30s the number of normal invites seems about the same, not that that's ever a very big number anyway.

Aye, one of the problems with the Inventions system is the poor way it shows you your totals IMO. Some sort of Info tab on the enhancements screen showing your Set Bonus Totals along with the actual bonus they provide would be nice (like Mids does). All that "Small bonus", "large bonus" stuff really isn't easy to follow.

Actually walking into work today I was prepared to eat my words, I was expecting an announcement like the "3rd side" or "City of Spies" they detailed in that questionnaire they sent SG Leaders a while back, some sort of paid expansion which lets you start off as a neutral in a new zone or two before branching off towards Heroes or Villains, with an engine upgrade in it.

Now I am jaded (and not just because the Tiny Dictator thought 4:30 this morning was a great time for a round of playtime and kick daddy in the head rather than sleeping).

Gotta say thanks to yourself and the mysterious Emo for all the work you guys have done on City of Guides KS. Great site with a lot of work gone into it. If I had my way you'd have got a Creative Award and cheesy forum badge title for it.

There's an Ignore User button. It's a bit annoying though as you still see the person said something, you've just no idea what it was. Eurogamers is much better (and needed on those forums), you erase the person from your view entirely.

No, it's more that when you get told there's a really, really nice slice of cake due Soon and then it's revealed to be a bit of day old fruitcake you tend to feel a bit let down.

There just seems to be a total lack of direction in terms of storyline and development. They built up The Coming Storm nicely and then sorta forgot to finish it all off.

Even the birthday celebrations lack originality and sparkle, instead they're more like "Just throw everything and see what sticks".

They just seem a bit berefit of ideas story-wise now with little idea of what they should be doing to develop the story of CoH.

If it's all a cunning plan and there's a big reveal due today then excellent. I'll say "well played" and look forward to it.

Oh no wait, that's exactly what I do all the time. It doesn't help at the mo I'm afraid. All you get is Farms in Atlas.

At higher levels it does work a bit better, I assume because if someone sees you with an LFT in Sharkshead or Talos they know you're probably currently playing / looking for Missions.

The Art of War was started long before I rejoined the game, its been around since launch - but the core players who have 50+ months across the boards have all agreed that there is not much holding this game together other than some hastily added cellotape and stickers saying *soon*

I sit here in hope that a game ive enjoyed for a long time gets the extension to its life it truly deserves, and not some ham fisted blue peter add ons.

Pretty much my take on it too, I'll be trying out Champions but the aimless feature creep of the last few issues really isn't encouraging me to stick with CoH either.
