We have gone way off topic but who cares? i dont.

Me neither, you all answered my question pages ago

On the whole "tanking herding" issue, as a squishy I see the benefit of it totally. As a Fire/Rad controller it just makes things silly-easy when you can RI > Flashfire them is a big heap.

But as a player I find it can get a bit boring. Nowadays I much prefer to do the Spawn-by-spawn approach. In fact letting the crazy scrapper get himself into trouble and then see if you can haul their [censored] back out of it is lots more fun

I would be up for it on my empath but Im at work till 2

Anyway all the best! if you want to do more TFs then I will see what can be done

    [/ QUOTE ]
Dang, sorry dude. Planning to do Eden very soon too though, plus Hess once I open the TaskForce up on Striga though. Will keep you posted

Still got room for one more folks. A Defender / Controller would be most welcome.

    1: Maloth, Level 26 Fire/Rad 'troller
    2: Dark Paths Scrapper
    3: Fulla, L50 scrapper (Honborg)
    4: Blitzwing . L50 scrap
    5: Ghostmaker Inv/Axe tank / 01011001 AR/Dev blaster (Dr E. Genius)
    6: Teela O'Malley 28 scrapper (Quasar)
    7: Bleak WS (Calam)

  3. Totally up to you, whichever you'll enjoy more. It doesn't matter too much. I'm happy standing back and watching you and a load of hyped up psycho-scrappers get to work while I buff and heal or do the crazy fiery control thing

Toon #8 should really be a Controller or Defender though as Maloth won't be able to keep the heals going on 6 of ye. Soloth would, but I'd like some control and / or debuffs in the team too I think. Hopefully one of the Forgotten Warriors will be up for it this evening.

*Edit: By the way Dr E, whats the name of the two potential toons?

    That was Boulderdash, surely?
    I feel old.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Indeed, but I couldn't think of anything relevant so I did my usual thing of throwing out an obscure tangent to cover my retreat *legs it*

Just to be on-topic: Really I'd prefer a D3 or Kinetics defender with me, but only because I think they're way cooler to play than a healbot.

(sticks about on to see if Irradiators comment + this one cause a mass empath protest)

  6. Hmmm. 5 Scrappers, a tank and lil old me...

The last slot really should be a Defender or Controller to help balance things out. If its another 'troller I'll bring Soloth instead who I'm trying to get to 26 currently. Kinetics and 6 meleers

Meet at 13:00 BST (ie current UK time) at Moonfire and we'll go kick some canine butt. If you don't have the Slayer or Silver Bullet badges you'll probably get them here too.
  7. You don't have to do The Hollows. You get one mission to talk to cop dude at the gate, you say hi to him, you go back to the contact who gave you that mission and they'll send you to Atlas / Kings Row and you continue on

Personally I love the place. But I also love Coffee Quality Streets so meh, my judgement mightn't be the best.
  8. Thats full for the mo so. I've asked my SG so I'll hold those slots until Friday or so.

    1: Maloth, Level 26 Fire/Rad 'troller
    2: Dark Paths Scrapper
    3: [Currently reserved for SG]
    4: Fulla, L50 scrapper (Honborg)
    5: Blitzwing . L50 scrap
    6: Dr_E_Genius's Inv/Axe tank
    7: Teela O'Malley 28 scrapper (Quasar)
    8: Bleak

Depending on Team make-up I might switch to using Soloth instead.
  11. Hi folks,
Given that in one year i've only managed to ever do one TF something has to be done. So this Sat i'd like to kick some wolfie and vamp butt on Moonfire in Striga. Details on Moonfire TF

Start about 1:00pm, meeting at Moonfire in Striga. Level range is 23-28, I should be 27ish by then. I'm reserving 2 slots for Forgotten Warrior members, I'll check with the guys later and see if any are in:

Sign up here for a fun filled Saturday of wiping werewolf gore off your outfit:

    1: Maloth, Level 26 Fire/Rad 'troller
    2: [Currently reserved for SG]

I've found that with Dark, people often don't even know you are doing anything. I was on a mission where things went a bit pear shaped and when the smoke cleared I was asked why I wasn't healing. Before I could answer someone informed the group that it was because I was afk. When I asked them why they thought that they said "cos you had full End". I had to explain that I'd been using nothing but my primaries which don't use much end (especially when the team is near death) and I couldn't heal as people kept running away from me. Plus I wasn't a healer anyway. I left the team shortly after...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah with Dark its really hard to tell they're up to anything, except for the tenctacles. DN & Tar Patch get swamped by it. Generally I just assume people are doing what I'd do with those lurvely powers and hope it all works out. Fire / Rad 'troller and a D3 is the business.

Rad is very obvious with its tasteful lime green swirlies, as is Storms Freezing Rain, although Snow Storm is a bit trickier to spot.

The easiest to miss (in my ever-humble opinion) is TA and / or Kinetics. Most people would swear all the Kinetics does is Speed Boost you and heal until they get Fulcrum Shift. Things like the Siphons & ID etc often go missed completely. I've teamed with high level kinetics and I've missed the Transference and Fulcrum Shifts but given how quickly we were slicing thru spawns they were definetely there.
  14. It's old people speak for "rubbish" or "I do not agree with your statement".

They stopped using it around World War I I think
  15. Hmmm. All these extra debuffs & mezzes it does which I never knew about. Tempted to try a Storm / Dark in the Recluse PvP event now.

I'm still scared of it though after a Storm defender let loose in Striga Tunnels before and the entire Banished Pantheon Cult seemed to aggro from it. Cue 6 totems and their hundreds of assorted mates...
  16. Is this on Onion or Deviant? If its Deviant I may lumber along with a bot. i'm not really up to full on RPing but the chance to flesh Maloth out (as much as you can flesh out a metal man) would be nice.
  17. Its basically a pet. It does Knockback and will chase. So it can knockback and pursue mobs all over the shop, happily barreling thru others to get to him. Each time it does a small amount of damage.

I detest it but I'm Illusion / Storm. If you were Fire, Earth or Ice it might be useful combined with your immobilize powers as they prevent knockback. Also it is reckoned to be useful against AVs, I've never had it long enough to try on them.

Didn't know there were Fear or Disorientate aspects. I've never seen them work in action anyway.
  18. I've found sapping works really well with a Controller on the team too. Basically they get the initial lock-down on and from that point on you can keep them endurance drained and helpless. Otherwise you are looking at miffed mobs with a bit of Endurance left after the first SC (this is all pre-26 by the way), but hopefully you can heal yourself out any trouble that arises. The siphons of kinetics are wonderful slapped on lieuts / bosses too, especially at the moment as bosses aren't affected as strongly by Endurance Drains. This will be fixed in i7.

I've also found Air Superiority a great help as a soft control for a sapper. Combined with Hasten & Siphon Speed you can keep a boss off his feet while SC recharges.

A while ago I played with a troller called Maloth or something like that, and I found his Fire/Rad build inspiring at the time. Now I've gotten round to rolling a Fire/Rad, but I can't exactly remember his build - I know it was based round damage, using Flashfire and Hot Feet and some other things. Maloth if you or anyone else with a similar build is around, can you please advise? TIA

    [/ QUOTE ]
w00t. I inspired someone. In a good way too for once
Haven't seen Big Bertha around in a while, although I've just restarted playing, So I should be still in the same level range if shes looking for a teammate.

I went with (off the top of my head, the order might be a little screwy)
Cinders, Rad heal thingy, Firecages, RI, Hotfeet, Air Sup, AM, Flashfire (at 12), Fly before the run up to Stamina at 22, taking the AOE hold at 18 too, but that could be skipped until the 20s if its too tight.

Opening combat was Hotfeet on, RI one lieut, Flashflash, Fire Cage and then run in and Air Sup / Cinder Hold non-anchor lieuts while Hotfeet does its work on the minions. Hotfeet is the pivot of my build to be honest. Until you get the fire imps Fires damage is pretty low without it. Rad lets you control the aggro it generates pretty well. Enervating Field is a great power but I couldn't fit it in until 24.

Probably the earliest developing character I've played. By level 14 they are AOE monsters. Can't wait for my fire monkeys.
  20. Use it as a stunner if its "going cold" on you.

Of course Sods Law will dictate that once you do someone is bound to faceplant
  21. My Dark/Kin is both really, I've a good balance between primary and secondary and blast with him a lot more than my Kin/Elec defender.
  22. No experience with Rad Blast but I say no to Repel. Keep your enemies close my son for then shall you reap the rewards of Fulcrum Shift, Transference and Transfusion. So pbaoes work well with Kinetics too.

You don't really need Stamina imho. Its slightly riskier in that you have to go robbing End off mobs with Transference instead but it frees you up 3 slots which which to play with.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Storm is pretty good for soloing - as others have mentioned.

The knockback from gale/hurricane/tornado just really gives you that extra bit of breathing space.

And it has lovely wow factor powers

    [/ QUOTE ]
Storm / Dark is a pretty nice combo too. Snow Storm, Tentacles, Freezing Rain & Nightfall. Nice
