Grats Lodestar. Great healer and well deserved.

Energy Blasters are indeed your worst enemy. Nothing worse than your anchor being sent flying (if you're a Fire/Rad controller its even worse if you're a Hotfeet user).
Get a Stormie friend though. Yesterday I spend most of a mission casting my anchor & freezing rain and then TPing to the other side of the group with hurricane on to counter the knockback of the multiple energy blasters we had, which worked pretty well. -
So are you interviewing players or their heroes?
Or both? -

We going to 2 rounds again next week? I thought it worked well, even if it is over quicker we could have another, would be great fun to try out different toons
[/ QUOTE ]
After next weeks round though there will be eliminations so the following round will need to take account of them. So I assume thats why theres only one round next week. -

Regardless, things went smoothly and we all had a laugh. Thats the main. Found myself a rival in Soaring Dragon though, that mean sunnuvabish managed to cut through my PFF a few times, nearly offing me in one! :P

Yeah I had a great time too. Thanks to all my teamies, my two bricks in the first, Pyra and Extra Gonk and the guys in the second who dealt with 2 stormies so well, Spawnus and QiSnake.
Couldn't believe we snuck that second match. I was so busy trying to stay alive. Thank god for pets. Set em off and then run away from the psycho scrapper and the two storm toting squishiesHad some great Squishy battles with Mesmer, Eat Static and Bogmonster but was slightly disappointed UN Rep didn't make it with his zombies. Was looking forward to squaring off.

Illusion / Storm is great, end-game its all about siccing things with pets & placables
Illusion is a much stronger soloer than Grav.
I still think Rad is better for soloing though -

Pooh how come i7 is not here yet? I gotta play with a pure PVE build (and when i mean pure PVE i mean i wont last long, really, soz those teaming with me)
[/ QUOTE ]
Meh, I'm pure PvE too. I'm going to add a few +accuracies to attacks but thats it. I thought the whole point was so everyday players have a go at PvP without worrying about being Mr uber build?
Thats my story when I get smeared across the arena floor anyway and i'm sticking to it. -
I agree with all the comments that Storm has the best synergy with Grav
But the character is going to be mostly soloing according to the OP and storm isn't great for that at all unless you also get the medicine pool for heals. Pre stamina soloing will be pretty difficult too, your End will keep crashing. -
I think its around that too, about the same as a normal Dark Blast / Melee attack does. So not much use a debuff attack really.
-
I love the idea of different types too. Maybe extend it to the tier ones too, just to differencant between this and other MMs.
That also means only one Tier one could have the upgraded heal maybe and the other two could differ in other ways, correcting the imbalance. You are slightly low on Support type minions so maybe the upgrades could affect the tier ones and give them immobizes, holds or stuns etc? -
Never met or spoke to you directly Doulos, but I felt I knew you thanks to the great stories you Rangers wrote. So I'm sorry there'll be no more of em
Someone tell him that tabletop 40k is so 1990s. They have it on PC nowadays. No need to spend hundreds on lil lead fellas anymore. Now they're all digitised. -
[ QUOTE ]
Um.....I've done all of that. See the first post. The other demon idea was a threadjack :P
EDIT: Actually, see the third or fourth, that's the revised version.

Whoops. Soz.
You've got 3 empower henchie type powers though. And the level 32 is different to how all the other MMs work. Personally I'd make it the same and add something unique as the 18 power rather than yet another henchie buff you only cast when you summon them. -
Rad. It's a great soloing set with healing, debuffs and AM to help with Endurance issues in your teens and teams will love you.
Plus later you'll have extra control via Choking cloud & EM Pulse.
Storm isn't fabulous for soloing. No self-heal. No Endurance recovery power. And the Accuracy debuffs of Hurricane aren't as easy to keep up as RI. -
I like the fire and shadow attacks idea.
You have to name em though Firestorm. No point making the set if you don't get to name the little blighters.
And if you've ideas for the other powers in the set (like the level 18 for example) throw them out too. I suspect Fire blasts will be the way to go with the MMs own attacks, again to seperate from Necros. -
Cool, two sweet looking battles here, including one I've wondered about for ages.
Looking forward to this already, Apologies to Qi and the other unfortunates stuck with me
Except Spawnus as I'm against him in the first round so my uselessness should cancel itself out -
Drat. Just spent 2 hours reading and getting no work done.
Still at least its well worth reading. Cheers Jakey and the rest of you HONU folks -

Author's note: Thank you everyone for reading this. The narrative arc started in 'Case of the Missing Cats', through 'Cosmos' and 'Breuddwydio' will conclude in 'Believe'.
Watch this space.
Well not this space.
This forum.

So where can I read "Case of the Missing Cats"? I managed to miss it first time around. Can't see it on the Honourable forums either.

The issues not really whether they have a healing power though, it's that calling them a 'healer' in the sense of 'wE N33d a H3AL0RZ!!1! lol' isn't the point of any powerset in CoV and so it's not really fair to refer to them as such.
So I would disagree that there are healers in either CoH or CoV because even if healing is one of the things they do, it's certainly not what they are if you get my meaning.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree completely. Anyone who thinks a Rad is just a healer is missing out so much. The heal is the least used power in the set for me. I cast AM more often, even in teams. -

I know most experienced players don't rate RoF much when you are involved with a team but I think I have found a use for it with my lvl 12 dude.
When we start taking down a mob, if another one nearby starts taking an interest and we look like getting swamped I use RoF on the second mob to disperse them and keep em away from the main fight.
I admit to still being a novice player so would appreiate some "expert" advice on the viability of this tactic.
(Hides behind riot shield with Hollows cop and waits for the flak to start)

This does work, but it only buys you a few seconds grace. And it annoys them no endit'll grab you all the aggro. So once they're out of the Rain they'll probably be gunning for you.
But using it point-blank to avoid melee is a good move if you're in trouble. Melee tends to hit harder, especially with Trolls and the like.
In teams if there's a Controller with you set up an AOE immobilise/hold -> Rain of Fire combo, works brilliantly. With my Fire/Rad I'd enormous fun doing Flashfire & Fire Cages and a Fire Blaster RoFing them before. He loved it too. Decent damage there if you can keep them from escaping.
Nothing worse than a bad use of it scattering a mob to the four winds though. One of the quickest ways to make a fight messy and difficult (rogue Tornado being the #1) -
Two hours later and we're done
Cheers to everyone. Great team. I never want to see a Galaxy again though. -

I need this badge on a few of my toons, so if you've still got that space left, I can bring either a :-
Ice/Storm troller
Ill/Kin troller
Emp/Psy Defender
Spines/Reg Scrapper
Don't mind, whichever's best for the team
[/ QUOTE ]
Whichever you like of the controller / defender set would be excellent. If you fancy playing the Ice / Storm I'll be Soloth, the Empath or Illusion I'll be Maloth. Maloth is 27, Sol is 25 but I'm happy playing either.
I'm online now anyway as Mal -
Yep you're right Kitty, Gravs immobilses down have -knockback components which is why the AOE immob + Freezing Rain with Hurricane to shuffle people into the rain sounds so lovely. With Carni I had FR at 16 and Hurricane at 24. Fun fun fun
Means Tornado might be a little chaotic still though with no -knockback to keep the dumb wind tunnel in check -
Do you really need so many of the lower level powers? Like Crush, Lift, GD and propel so early?
I just mean that if you can fit Freezing Rain in at 16, Crushing Field > Freezing Rain is a superb combo. Freezing Rain is Storms bit hitter really.
Personally I'm unsure on Tornado & Thunderclap. However trying to solo Snaptooth yesterday with Illusion/Storm I think Tornado would have saved me (instead I planted)
And I'd only one-slot Snow Storm. The slows only affect running speed, not -mob recharge and -mob recharge is the reason its so great. -
Nope, up to my ears in the psychos
. Still should be a nice mincing machine churning out lots of wolfie dog food.
Come on folks. Surely there's a happy-go-lucky squishy out there who wants to help poor Moonfire, stuck on that rock all alone on a freezing Striga moor.
