  1. I just noticed that the third guy from the left is totally checkin' Adventure Boy out. Maybe it's just as well they tossed him out. He probably wasn't lookin' for quite that level of cultural outreach.

    I hate you, Milkman Dan.

  6. It'd probably work better as a community college or voke-tech program anyway. "And when you've completed the course, the AK-47* is yours to keep!"

    * Rifle may vary. It probably won't be an actual AK-47 anyway, since those haven't been made since 1956 and the vast majority of the rifles you see identified as such on the news are actually AKMs. Void where prohibited.

  9. Here we go again. Bill, don't you have a paste for this?

To be fair, his creators didn't either, since nuclear weapons hadn't been invented at the time.

Doesn't look much like Superman, either, but in fairness they're only working with what Jim Lee's left them to work with. 21st-century redesign my pancake.

Sort of; it depends on whether the writer remembers.
  14. This is like asking if it's too early to start drinking. If you even thought to ask, you already know your own answer.

You've been around long enough to have your permanent Nemesis staff! What more do you want?

(Seriously, I do not know how I survived levels 1-15 before I got that thing. Utterly indispensable. If only I could slot it for accuracy... )

Well, I suppose it partially depends on what you mean by "physically struck". I mean, any given Green Lantern could probably take a tactical nuke, if he, she, or it had sufficient warning, but there would be forcefields involved. There wouldn't be a direct exposure. Same goes for your really powerful sorcerer types, like Doctors Fate and Strange.

As far as just stepping up and takin' it on the chin goes, there's... hmm. The Tick... that guy with the mohawk from the Shi'ar Imperial Guard... under some writers the Hulk would just be made bigger by such an experience... and I can think of a handful of supernatural/semi-corporeal types, though in their cases "survive" is kind of a relative concept. I mean, the Spectre (for instance) is already dead, and he's arguably one of those "incarnations of various concepts."

It'd probably only annoy a herald of Galactus, too, but it's kind of a stretch calling them heroes.

I confess to a certain disappointment when I learned that the top Upgrade power for Robotics was not Stack 'n Attack. Those Malta jerks can do it!

So does Captain Photon, but fortunately he works in Steel Canyon. He's gonna be ticked about his Zoids collection, though, I tell you what.

I know what you mean. One does hate to feel like one is just standing there not contributing when it's clobberin' time. That's why I always end up taking the attacks, even though they are essentially worthless. I can at least act like I'm not just standing there letting the guys do all the work.

    Or Steve from Borderlands. Heyoooooo!
  21. I have nothing to add, I just wanted to note (as a sadly former beagle buddy myself) that your icon is adorable.
  22. And remember, kids, if you want to make a sarcastic riff on the game's title to highlight your current favorite perceived shortcoming, it's just "City of $WHATEVER", e.g. City of Gimps, City of Civilians, City of Inexplicably Restrictive Lore. Appending : Freedom will not be necessary even after the changeover. We'll know what you mean without it.

Nothin'. Not being interested in gaming the market for profit or farming indefinitely, I have a hard enough time affording to slot one build decently above level 25 or so.

I was about to say, "Either your local pizzeria is the pizzeria of the gods or they are ripping you the hell off," but then I remembered that it is, in fact, no longer 1991 outside my head, where the price of a large pizza remains around $8 and comic books are still worth buying. It's hard living with a permanently timeshifted consciousness.
