It's actually more of a "Spider-man comics from the 1980's" angle, but sure.

btw, why is Hope using a jetpack? Shouldn´t she be able to fly on her own?
I don't think she has any powers until she "borrows" them from someone else.

Because Nick Fury was MIA through all of the Civil War, and Tony Stark took his reigns just afterward.
Go to the President, go to congress, go to the MEDIA with his story, I mean.
"government fires on unarmed man" does not look good for anybody.

He still doesn't go around killing heroes.
But that brings up something else. Have you seen the preview of A vs X?

    if not, minor [SPOILER]

    It is here:

    on the last page,
Hope 'borrows' Cyclops powers and blasts him full force. (note he is not disintegrated lol)
...I thought Cyclops was immune to his own powers?

Tony Stark in the comics (not the movies), in spite of his idiosyncrasies, is a trained political lobbyist machine that spoke to government officials in ways they can relate to. So, Tony tended to have more pull on them then Steve.

As for the general populous, Steve generally has more pull, except in this case as the media was already biased toward the Government agenda because of the destruction of the school which started it all. Hell, there was one arc in which the media supported Tony's descision to release the Green Goblin so he can assassinate Atlantian dignitaries in order to pull Atlantis into the Civil War. I mean like WTH? But that's just the craziness of it all.
Well, I was actually talking about the other heroes. Particularly the ones that knew them both.

I also wondered why Steve didn't go to the government with his story. Maria Hill took it upon herself to order agents to fire guns at him, using lethal force on an unarmed man (his shield is not generally considered a weapon in the legal sense) because he vocally disagreed with a proposed bill that was not a law yet. How is she still in power? :/

Because Cyclops uses lethal force against heroes every day with his force beams that have suddenly become disintegration beams?
  9. You guys are all assuming that the writers of modern Marvel comics are basing brand new stories on any of the stories that came before. (Particularly Bendis.) Did Cap and Iron Man seem different to anyone during Civil War?

Did Cap resign in protest during the Registration? And why was everyone so eager to take Iron Man's word that Cap was wrong? The same Cap that was correct in EVERY SINGLE THING previously. Meanwhile, Iron Man is always being mind controlled, or the traitor for Kang or being drunk, or wants to kill the Supreme intelligence, or oh yeah tried to take out heroes during the Armor Wars cause no one can ever have his technology. But sure, let's believe him over Steve. :P

Recently Kitty Pryde was stuck on a flying bullet in space. So instead of saving her by having her think the following sentence several times: "Rachel, please come save me!" (Rachel Grey, her best friend, is known as Phoenix, telepath/space traveler), we have Magneto "remember" what that metal feels like months ago, and pull it through space, while sitting on a planet that is rotating and orbiting the sun.

When she gets back, she is stuck in intagible form. THE EXACT SAME CONDITION she had twenty years ago in "FF vs X-men", where Reed and Doctor Doom cured her. So when Dr. Nemesis, her current doctor, is face to face with Reed Richards, do you think he might have mentioned this once? NUPE! They just sat there admiring Cyclops current strategy, saying YUP, that Cyclops sure is a genius.

So yeah, the way Marvel handles things now, I don't think any comics written more than maybe a year ago will have anything to do with new stories. lol

The bow. Other than that, it's just a system wide unlock at level 1, instead of having to unlock most of those parts at level 35. Note it doesn't include swords.

It's not space travel, it's dimension travel. Instead of "Rikti homeworld" it should be called "Rikti Earth". That drives me more crazy than "Samaritan". lol

I don't think that's true. The family exploit systems already in place. I'm pretty sure they just want to enjoy life, even though they lie cheat and steal to do it. And vampires (the true ones) like surviving, too. In fact, this quote from Buffy the vampire season 2's finale "Becoming, part two" seems relevant here:

Spike: "We like to talk big, vampires do. 'I'm going to destroy the world.' That's just tough guy talk. Strutting around with your friends over a pint of blood. The truth is, I like this world. You've got... dog racing, Manchester United. And you've got people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. It's all right here. But then someone comes along with a vision. With a real... passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Goodbye, Piccadilly. Farewell, Leicester Bloody Square. You know what I'm saying?"

So for every villain that WANTS to destroy the world, you'd have some that DON'T. You'd have to provide options for both, or somebody is being forced to do something he doesn't want to do, no matter what you are presented with.
  14. I have to say, just removing Statesman with no phasing tech is disappointing to me. I thought triggering his absence by playing the arc would be really stepping things up, big time. Now I'm all, "oh, that's all it is." Your character really is NOT changing the game world through actions at all.

    Yay for Staff weapons though!

I'm *assuming* you wouldn't make up this whole article to mislead us, because that would be kind of dumb.

And so Statesman dies in part 5, and there are two more parts that are still called "Who Will Die?" even though the question is already answered?

Look, I love what you guys have dome with Freedom and the store and all the new costumes and power sets, but at this point the only way I can enjoy the writing is if I make up a drinking game to go along with it.
It's the NAME of the ENTIRE arc, not just the individual parts of it.
This is like complaining that people still watch the ending of Back to the Future even after Marty makes it back to 1985. Why bother? he is already back in the future.

I was there when Stateman died - I played an important role in the story. The game content being rewritten as though he never even existed completely marginalizes that.
Yeah. Until recently, I was led to believe that the new phasing tech was going to be used in this. You know, he is alive until you play the arc that kills him and poof he's gone. Now I'm disappointed that it might NOT be that.

And I was kind of surprised that there was no twist to part five. I thought, ok, maybe he dies THWARTING Wade's plan. Or gets him monologing, there's a big battle, and dies anyway. But no. No twist. No excitement. Statesman just blunders on in to the plan and dies. Oh well. This is not "the fight of his life", like the marketing suggested. It's just the part where he gets killed.

With loading screens, box art, and marketing stuff, I get it.

Everything else in-game? I believe it needs to reflect the results of the entire WWD saga.

And that's probably the thing. But hey, I've been wrong before. Either way, I'm still enjoying the game and will still plunk in my sub fees.
Read the part about issue 23.

Well, they already mentioned on those other threads that only the female members of the new carnival use pieces that are not already available and/or don't have "issues".
  21. For a moment, I thought that costume slots were meant to be on sale. And I was almost excited. :/
    lol
  22. Well put! But to torture the lego analogy further, some people don't know how or don't want to spend that much time playing with legos if they don't have the assembly book.
  23. Play with the elemental Titan Weapon for a while. That might make you feel a lot better if you are feeling disappointed with this set.
  24. When you say "all of the pieces are for male female and huge", you mean women can wear men's shirts and short skirts? Just like Shania Twain? lol
