Yes, all this does look nice and time for a change in the game. Not to put a dampner on all this but the Freedom version, sounds like what Cryptic/Atari did with Champions and maybe Star Trek with the free and paid versions, which is fine, need to complete and make this version better and have people join up. THis new Galxy tutorial does sound slightly familiar to Champions where to start in the middle of a battle, go up some levels before jumping into the full game, just IMHO and 2 cents...

feeling tired and n00b-ish tonight..logged into the game and seeing the added EU servers and some I don't recognize or remember.. I usually just use Freedom mainly and Champion. So my question is there going a single Global server name to use now for everyone, or just keep using Freedom, for example, like I've always been on?? Any help on my confusion will be muchly appreciated

Presently, Closed Beta is still ongoing for Issue 19. And that's all I can say at this time.
If you guys are good, you can have it for Xmas under your tree XD -
I agree, an excellent guide, Snow Globe!
I'm feeling either tired or n00b-ish, so here's my question:
My Hero is now a Vigilante, and I'm running around in CoV. I find that I can only do newspaper missions and have no contacts. So I would have to become a Villain to get new contacts, correct?
Just a side note on Going Rogue Beta, which kinda sucked was after picking to be a Hero or Villain, that once I left Praetoria and went to Paragon, that I couldn't go back, even though I started my toon in Rogue, but before I was 20, I could go to Pocket D from the Studio club and vice versa. I just thought it odd of getting the message of not being able to switching dimension when my Rogue toon came from there, again hitting the 20 mark and switching to Paragon etc. I was hoping for more major switching between the 3 main zones/cities or is that a plan down the road in newer expansions?? -
Dude, don't give me analogies.. I use them every day at work, I use car analogies myself
This week I'm on holidays so I don't need to be remind of work.. People, thanks for the ideas. Originally I was asking for advice, not schooling LOL
It's like they say..doctors make the worse patients! nuff said -
Again, this has been my sys all time I been using Coh, and I had an older PC prior with less resources and diff video card that ran perfectly fine since I've been playing the game
I updated my video driver today and will try again. It just doesn't make sense that a big patch would cause this kind of trouble. As for graphics, I use to run 1 notch above Recommended, last night I run on the lowest setting with no crash, but not sure if that's the issue. -
and now the info from Hijack This

where do I post the results? Is there a specific thread I should post to?
Again, as I stated before, it's not a full year of NOT paying CoH. I was trying out other MMOs, and coming back here on occasion, I was even asked to Beta test Issue 17 via email. I'm not a nOOn, I have an IT background and work for a major ISP in Canada. I just found it rather odd that say in the last two weeks or so I'm getting the MS error window, as Texas stated he's never seen in 6 years of play and I've been playing since 2007, and I've never had an issue with the game until now. -
not complaining, just stating a fact and don't group me in with other whiners who come here, just not impressed of years of game play then an upgrade comes along and things go south is all
-
Quote:I've only had this issue, like I said with the release of Issue 17. This is the same PC from last year and CoH ran fine then and up until I 17, didn't even crash with Beta testing 17. I'm also finding slight lag with this new Ultra mode that I don't turn on, and the odd thing is that I see less people online, but go to Atlas and it studders at times. I feel like they added new features but should of left things as they were, in the graphics departments, I was happy with thatPost a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Then, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
In 6 years of playing the game on three different versions of Windows, I've never had the Microsoft error dialog pop up on a crash. I've had the games error box pop up asking what I was doing when the crash occured, but never the Microsoft error reporting message. -
Going to post this over here...
Before coming back to play Issue 17, I was away trying out STO & CO... the game in general has never crashed on me. Now this last couple of weeks, including just now, the game will crash and up ops the famous Microsoft error message asking if I want to send a report to Microsoft, which I never do, then re-start the game again. There seems to be no real reason or game action that seems to make it crash. The 2nd last crash I was crafting and the message popped, and a couple of times I was either changing zones or leaving the mission map.
Anyone else experiencing this? -

Has anyone notice a bit of lag since Issue 17 and their Ultra-mode?? I still have my settings on Recommended and it still rubber-bands from time to time and there are less people in-game since CO & STO came out
2nd Q: I remember a time when you're buying stuff at the store, you could mouse-over and it would show you what the item did and the percentage bonus etc. Now I have to right-click to get info. Seemed like a year since I noticed this, just never asked and dealt with it, and I looked at the settings if there was some kind of tooltip setting for this or no?? -
Quote:2-3 crashes while on missions in Hollows with newer toon, another crash while in Altas just running over to Wentworth's, another crash while doing police mission in KR. After the first couple of crashes I turned the Graphics down from Ultra to Recommended and tried some more. Not impressed with 3 crashes within 20 minutes! Does Ultra mean ultra-crash? loltrying to adjust anything with water settings crashes coh. oh well as an ati user i have gotten used to low quality.
radeon hd 4850
Since owning CoH, joined when Issue 8 came out, I've never has a crash and upgraded my PC, reinstalled etc and now has a better vid card etc. May have to return to CO & STO when you guy iron out the bugs. Not very impressive for a 6th anniversary patch/mew issue.
When I get to look at the new Ultra mode, wasn't impressed with the shadows etc. I prefer more focus on content and looks rather than if I can see myself in the water etc. Feels a bit of slippage since AE came out. Kinda neat I can colour my powers etc but more of a "meh", why I tried CO & STO for awhile. Hoping Rogue will pull me back more. At least there's more mission variety still here than the other game, which have the exact same mission timeline no matter which toon you play.
Here endth my rant for tonight LOL -
it actually goes off when enemies are going to attack, heard it with my blaster too
-
I came back for the x2 XP weekend, leveling my tank now, who uses Energy Melee... is it me or is there a new sound effect (sound like a steam pump in action) while I use my powers then stop after the fight. Is there any way to get rid of this? I can see colouring my powers etc in the new issue and saw some of the other changes which is fine, just not these extra sound over the clutter of FX sound for my powers etc. Going to check other toons for similar issues. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
-
I noticed this the other day, not sure if it's a patch clitch or what.
I find when I want to look at an Enhancement in the Store, like DOs or IOs, I move my mouse over the item and expect the Info window to pop up. Instead, I need to right-click, click Info and then it shows the window.
Is this a new clitch, like when you get a 'jerky' animation when teleporting to Pocket D? -
Gotta question for Soulie.. where did you get the PPD chest detail and I saw a toon on team the other night where he had a Archnos logo for a chest detail... Can you add logos/designs to the list on the game folders or was it some kind of bonus you can add etc etc?
