    Give some more ideas! Maybe make a consolidated "Joke weapons" thread.

    Right now, my main mental block is I can't find a way to not leave Archery out in the cold. Assault Rifle and Thugs could totally get squirt guns or guns that, as said, have a "BANG" sticking out of them. I have no idea how one does a joke weapon for archery, as it would have to be the bow, not the arrows, changed.

  3. You're going with BEAST? He's mostly just a big blue human. How about Nightcrawler? He's got that prehensile tail. Or if we're going all out for animal men, anyone see Hawkman in Kingdom Come? That is one amazing animal-man. I wish we had talons as a foot option.

    ...You know, I tried to come up with a long complex post about this and I lost my train of though twice, so...


    I think it's a great idea, and I would love for a way for my Archery/Elec blaster to make a lightning arrow, but I don't see and way this could be reasonably implemented animation-wise. The only way to do it balanced would be to increase cast time and show both animations, but at that point... You might as well just perform one attack right after the other.


    I think we can add this to the concept of "Signature Powers," and as someone who plays an Incubus as well, I would love a Cone Confuse with the fire-breath animation (though I'd tint it purple-black) as a signature power called "Blow Kiss," or a melee Confuse with the Siphon Life animation called "Incubus Kiss."

    Oh, I know it was a joke. I've seen the similar jokes up a lot (mostly Dual Archery and Assault Rifle Defense), it's just, well... Carp Melee works. There's already a few fish models in game (there's a swordfish in Port Oaks you can kick around if I remember right) and if those were just tinkered with enough to count as weapons... BAM.


    If this were implemented, I would make a CapnGeist brute (the current one is a Zombies/Storm MM) who went around beating people with a fish.
  6. Okay, I posted this over a month ago, and... I'm used to seeing responses to threads at some point. Is this a good idea? Bad idea? Or is the lack of a response just a testament to the idea that the vast majority of the player base doesn't actually care about Bases?

    Bases aren't really a pain... My base is pretty impressive if I do say so myself. You're really just asking for base improvements. A house would serve the same purpose that bases already serve.

    As much as I'd like sharks with laser beams, this suggestion's really just for custom weapons, so... maybe a shark with a laser beam for a Robotics Pulse Rifle?

    And as for a house... a house would take just as long to build, unless you're suggesting they have a number of pre-packaged houses, in which case, what's the point if it can't be personalized?

    Mirrored Fighting actually sounds cool, and Dual Pistols shows that shadow-selves are entirely possible. Mirror Fighting would be an effective method for illusionists, speedsters, and characters like Multiple Man. Call it "Multiattack Melee." Let's go with a quick rundown of what it could be...

    1: Two-Four Punch: Deliver two quick punches, with shadows of two more being delivered.
    2: Lightning Kick: Deliver three kicks, with shadows of 3 more.
    3: Double Uppercut: You and a shadow deliver a strong uppercut to the foe, does Knockup.
    4: Build up: If I need to explain this power to you, get off the suggestions forums and play the game more.
    5: Scatter: PBAOE, You and five shadows do a shoulder tackle in six different directions, then hop back to the starting spot to re-merge. Does knockdown.
    6: Taunt/Confront
    7: Full Flurry: You and two shadows perform the flurry action on the foe right in front of you. High chance to disorient. Small cone.
    8: Double Team: Recharge Intensive Pet. Pet is a shadow (or looks like you, if that's possible) that can perform Two-Four Punch, Lightning Kick, and Double Uppercut. Short duration, long recharge.
    9: Infinity Punch: You and dozens of shadows on shadows on shadows punch the same target, dealing 25 ticks of damage over half a second (resulting in a cloud of numbers whenever it hits) and massive knockback.

    ...Yeah, some of us have this already. In game. My main is named Yaphet Tariq. The other leader of my Villain Group is named Saira Tariq. Our VG base is a small castle, which includes a kitchen, dining room, and many bedrooms, including a master bedroom.

    If you're looking for a wife in game, maybe you should pop over to Virtue and see if you can woo yourself a catgirl.

  17. The problem is if you add three new powers to, say, SR, then you're suddenly making SR stronger while not making any of the other sets stronger. You've got to do a pretty sizable chunk at a time.

    What would be most plausible would be to buff a set TYPE at a time. Say in one issue add some new powers to all Melee or all Defense sets (the most populace sets, having 4 ATs that use them), then Buff/Debuff sets, and so on..

    Hmm, if you want to hit every AT once... You need to go...
    Melee or Defense
    Buff/Debuff
    Manipulation
    Assault

    That would keep the ATs balanced and let things come out in waves. Going for Defense sets, then Buff sets would only leave Blasters and Doms out in the cold a bit longer, and it would allow the greatest affect over the minimal number of sets.

    So one of the devs made an off-hand comment about Carp Melee coming out after Dual Archery, obviously as a joke but... I think a lot of us are familiar with Final Fantasy Seven, Soul Calibur, and similar games.

    I'd like some unlockable joke weapons. We've got a shovel, a bone, and some wrenches, so we know that the devs don't insist that all the weapons be absolutely serious. I'd like a few silly weapons to be added for customization, either inherently available or unlockable. Such ideas include...

    -Fish of various types. Carp of course. Swordfish and Hammerhead Sharks for added hilarity.
    -An Umbrella
    -A boffer/nerf sword
    -Oversized silverware (Fork and Knife for dual blades, Knife for Longsword and Katana, Spoon for Mace)
    -A Frying Pan for Warmace

    All in all, I think a handful of silly weapons would be great. They'd allow characters to goof around a bit more and they'd let us make some sillier concepts like Dual-Carp Melee.

    Merits for SOs

    I think 1 merit per SO is plenty... And I support this idea if it's just 1 merit per SO. SOs get outleveled fast at low levels and merits are valuable.
  20. I like the Acc boost for Super Reflexes. A self-heal might be a bit TOO good in SR, but let's say...
    -ACC boost (Your super-dodging translates into hitting more quickly and thus more accuracy)
    -Rapid Strike (An improved version of the Super Speed Flurry attack. Putting one or two attack powers in each Defense set would make sense.)
    -Placate (for Brutes and Scrappers) or Lucky (for Stalkers)


    Adding an attack to each armor set would work well. Fire would get something like Flares, Ninjutsu would get Shuriken, Regen could have some sort of melee attack that damages both you and the opponent. Just make sure it's all attacks that none of the primaries have.


    As for attacks in control sets... No, we don't want more attacks in control sets, we want more varied controls. Also, give every control set (save Mind) the option for a pet buff power similar to the MM pet buff powers. Mind, meanwhile, would have an AoE toggle that gives all Enemies +25% to Hit and all allies +25% defense. Normally, it'd come out as a wash, but when foes are confused, it would make them hit each other with greater frequency. Might be a bit clunky, but something along the lines of "Confused foes get bonus acc/dam"


    There's plenty of design space to add more powers to sets. The real catch is... It's a LOT of work. You'd need to add 3 powers to EVERY set, pretty much, to keep it balanced, and you'd need to carefully balance every last one of them. It would be immensely cool, but I don't see it ever happening.

    Let's add to this: Options for Ambushes led by a named NPC. Because sometimes it /has/ to be BAB who shows up to the party (and not an army of EB BABs, which is what happens if you try to set this up and the party count is too high)

  23. Exactly what it says on the tin. I do TFs all the time and it's always annoying to have to hunt for the contact. Couple that with the fact that nowhere in game does anyone really tell you who/where any TF and SF contacts are. Doesn't seem to me why there's any reason they're not already on the minimap.

  25. We really need to stop calling it a Nemesis system around here. Because, well... If I want to stop a Nemesis from a grand scheme, I'll do the RWZ arc. That's about as Nemesis-tastic as you can get.
