Why can't the inherent be better than Hasten? The brute inherent is, on average, better than Build Up and it certainly makes Assault look like nothing. You just need to build the AT around the idea of the bonus.
-
Power, once again: Don't post ideas until they're fleshed out. You've got a spark of an idea here that could potentially become good... Now go, MAKE it good, and don't come back until you do.
-
Capping influence is not the answer here. As has been said, it'd just result in people finding other ways around the cap, splitting it among multiple toons, trading in rare recipes/IOs, etc.
The answers seem pretty clear for preventing prices from getting out of hand... And they have nothing to do with the market itself.
-Have all salvage and recipes be for sale for INFLUENCE, not just for tickets, somewhere. Even if rare salvage went for 2 million, it would ensure that its black market value never went over 2 million unless people were being idiots. Put commons at 20,000 and uncommons at 200,000 and you've got a nice range where salvage can still be sold for profit but will never go silly high. This also means there will be influence SINKS, places for influence to dissapear from the economy to help stem inflation.
-Put some real influence sinks into the economy. As is, the only place to spend Influence is the market, crafting, and SOs. There's a few other things but they're all like 10,000 for temp powers, which is nothing. Common salvage often hits 10,000+. Giving people things to spend influence on OTHER than recipes would require people to consider whether they really want the new recipe or if they'd rather buy a Super Raptor Pack with Capped Fly Speed or a Temp Power Summon Black Scorpion for when things get really rough (Because we all know if someone was willing to shell out 50 million, he'd show up and beat on anything or anyone, even himself)
-Have a way to directly trade tickets, merits, and influence. If you can buy a merit for 1 million influence, it gives people the option to dump influence into random gold rolls. I know merits and tickets are supposed to be special for rewards, but influence is supposed to be currency, and what good is currency if you need special tokens that can't be bought or sold to buy anything? -
I wouldn't know. Can we get pics of this Ad Astra? ;-)

More balanced, but now the question is: is that fun? Would people honestly play thinking about the effects or would they just figure it would come out in a wash anyway? Sounds like the effects aren't visible enough to really be enjoyable.
Now I like the recharge idea, but I think a scaling recharge bonus would be better, one that just went up and down without a penalty to it. The question then is how to encourage it without making the players feel penalized. We may want to bring back something akin to the old Defiance, where recharge raises as health decreases, suggesting some sort of adrenaline rush from getting your face smashed in. This AT seems more suited to teetering on the brink of death than Blasters. -
A set designed to give the player a super-speed feel, and a melee set designed to include some Confuse in it, as Confuse is, as far as I can tell, the only status effect no melee set gets to play with.
-
15 is a VERY small amount of recharge/damage boost. Consider Brute's damage shift is +200%, and Scrapper crits are +100% damage. Sure it's enough to help balance, but it's too low to feel like anything in gameplay.
-
The Wedding Pack was specific because Manticore and Psyche were getting married. THe costume pieces and animations were made specifically for that, and then they were sold as a bundle.
-
Here's the BIG question for your AT. What's your inherent? What's that little "thing" that makes you more than a scrapper with more ranged attacks? The idea of an Assault/Defense AT is a solid one, but it's been seen before. So what's the inherent you're pushing for?
-
...They should really fix that. Or at least change the FAQ.

I posted this in the power suggestion thread as well, but I'd like people to actually take a look at it and discuss it and implications of it so that I can make it a better idea than it is now. For those who've been paying attention to recent events, you know what I generally mean by "shadows" though note that customization would mean the shadows would be roughly the same color as your character (so if you wear red, it'd be red blurs, if you wear green, green blurs, etc)
It's probable that something similar has been discussed before, but the thread listings of power suggestions seem to be down.
Archetype: Scrapper, Brute
Primary
Power Set Name: Multiattack Melee
Flavor: To be used as though it were Illusions, Super speed, or even someone capable of splitting into multiple forms.
1: Two-Four Punch: Deliver two quick punches, with shadows of two more overlayed.
4 ticks of smashing damage (2, then 2), 3 second recharge, 10% chance to confuse
2: Lightning Kick: Deliver three kicks, with shadows of 3 more overlayed.
6 ticks of smashing damage (2, then 2, then 2), 6 second recharge, 25% chance to knockdown
3: Double Uppercut: You and a shadow deliver a strong uppercut to the foe
2 ticks of smashing damage (simultaneous) and Knockup.
4: Blurred Movement: Toggle. Shadows constantly dart around you, encouraging your foe to attack them, though they're not actually there.
10 foot radiusAoE, 25% chance for 2s confuse, mag 3
5: Scatter: You and five shadows of you do a shoulder tackle in six different directions, then hop back to the starting spot to re-merge.
PBAOE, 1 hit of smashing damage, knockdown and a chance to confuse.
6: Taunt/Confront
7: Full Flurry: You and two shadows perform the flurry action on the foe right in front of you. High chance to disorient.
Small cone, 24 ticks of Smashing damage, similar to Flurry and Shadow Maul, chance to confuse
8: Double Team: Recharge Intensive Pet. Pet is a shadow (or looks like you, if that's possible) that can perform Two-Four Punch, Lightning Kick, and Double Uppercut. Short duration, long recharge. The Double Team pet should have unsuppressed Super Speed, allowing it to dart all around.
9: Infinity Punch: You and about two dozen shadows on shadows on shadows punch the same target
25 ticks of Smashing damage over half a second (resulting in a cloud of numbers whenever it hits), massive knockback, and a chance for confuse.
Notes:
"Shadow" means an animation copy of a body part or whole body that's just a translucent, dark form. Two-Four Punch and Lightning Kick should be considered to have simple shadows similar to Shadowmaul and Flurry, though later attacks would have full shadow-bodies.
The Confuse chances are a result of a foe's attacks going wild as he tries to attack a double. The knockdown/up is just standard on smashing sets.
Blurred Movement is in the standard Build Up slot and should be designed so that it generally gives a bonus to damage consistent with what Build Up would normally give. -
According to the FAQ, in my User CP my reputation is displayed at the bottom of the page. Also, I know reputation can include comments left. However, despite looking in my user CP, I don't see anything more of my reputation other than what I see beside any post of mine, and I don't know where to read any comments. Could anyone give me more info than the FAQ has, please?

Okay, I actually DO like the idea of Birthday Gift but, as usual, Power's idea is completely ludicrous. Here's how it would work if DONE RIGHT.
On your ID card, you would be able to set your character's birth date. Characters who existed before this was added would be able to set theirs by talking to someone in City Hall or in Mercy's Arachnos base.
You would be able to change the birthday of your character once per 4 vet badges you have. This allows older players to fix mistakes easily, and it means younger players can't switch more than once a year to benefit. Your character's age can be displayed in your profile if you choose.
On your character's birthday, the following things happen.
-You gain 3 Mystery Gifts, plus a Holiday Spirit
-You gain the gold title "Birthday Boy" or "Birthday Girl" for 27 hours, starting at Midnight EST and ending at 3 AM (Midnight PST). If you're not in the states and this throws you off, well... Remember that both Paragon and the Rogue Isles are EST, so you're the one who's off, not the game.
-You and anyone in a team in which you have the Star can access the Chalet. Anyone who leaves your team is sent back to the main part of Pocket D.
-You gain the effects of a Luck, an Enrage, an Insight, a Sturdy, and a Break Free for the whole 27 hours. On your birthday, you are amazingtastic.
Note that by allowing you to change once for every 4 vet badges you have, it WOULD give longtime veterans the option of saying "You know what? I hereby declare today my birthday: Let's do a MSTF" while not getting bonuses so high that they last longer than just the day.
By making it character-specific instead of player specific, you get to experience it more than once a year and your RP friends can wish your character a happy birthday, knowing via gold title. -
Quote:I know a lot of people have been wanting guitars for War Mace or (if you stretch a bit) Battle Axe.
Stretch? Wanting an Axe for an Axe is a stretch?
I think this is a cool idea, but I don't see it really as a necessity. The game's not so bad that you can't run it and itunes at the same time (I usually have The Cape playing), and I really don't see a wide appeal in musician costume pieces.
Simply put, while I like the idea, I don't think it's a good decision for the company. -

Don't forget the medical bills for fixing the damage we've done to his wives and kids.
-
State the powers. Give them descriptions. Explain what they'd do and how they'd work. A lot of things would be sweet, but you need to put thought into them before suggesting them.
-
Exactly what I want to fix with this thread. I was hoping people would give feedback saying whether they'd want something like this or something with new art, but it's been very quiet.
-
The Costume Pieces were created for Sister Psyche and Manticore's in-game wedding, and people wanted them.
Also... You can marry in game. You just need to find someone playing a preacher once you have someone who can put up with you well enough to want to have their character marry yours. You have how many toons on Virtue? You should know this by now. -
I'm going to say no. Not because I think it's problematic, but because I think it's pointless. As is, origins do... pretty much nothing. Once you're level 6 they have no effect whatsoever except where your DOs and SOs come from. If Origins had any real affect on the game, then I'm sure it would sound like some sort of reasonable suggestion, but you're asking for something that sounds like it would require major coding but wouldn't really do anything at all.
So in closing: It's not a /bad/ idea, it should just be absolutely the last thing on the list of reasonable suggestions. So... Before Dual Archery, but after Carp Melee. -

Alright, Power, you want a crossbow set? Design it.
Go sit down, think, and then come back with a 9 power set for Crossbow Blast and explain what would make it cool and interesting.
Power, the reason nobody likes your suggestions isn't that they're inherently bad ideas, as every once in a while you say something like this which is theoretically viable. It's that your ideas are all poorly thought out or not thought out at all.
So this is your homework: THINK. What would crossbows do? What would make them special? What would all 9 powers be? If you're not willing to do this, then stop posting suggestions altogether. -
I posted an updated version of Multiattack Melee in the Power Suggestions thread. I'd appreciate it if people could take a look.
-
A few notes here...
-Don't make them drop. Put them in a shop in Atlas and another in Mercy.
-Have them function as Damage and Recharge IOs, equippable at any level, but at power levels of 10, 25, and 50. This prevents them from being a significant disadvantage power-level-wise (as the few powers that can't take damage or recharge probably wouldn't have an effect anyway)
-Have them all function as follows: 100% Chance for Mag 0 Immobilize. So our standard would look like...
"Tendril Grab
50 Damage IO
+42.4% damage
100% Chance for Mag 0 Immobilize for 2s, Midnight Grasp animation."
This could be placed in, say, Siphon Life show an animation of you grabbing them with tendrils, and have the tendrils vanish a moment later.
There's only two real issues I see here.
One is DURATION. IOs that do this have a duration independent of the actual power. Sometimes they're available in powers that don't even have durations (like Pounding Slugfest.) This would make it very difficult to synchronize your vines with your fire, especially as one duration may be affected by Resist more than the other. (I'm assuming all of these would use the Immobilize animation, as it's the only one I see go off even when the Mag is too low to stop them.)
The second is GAMEPLAY DISTRACTION. Most people expect a foe who is grabbed by tendrils or surrounded by ice to be not moving, and they expect one sparkling with purple bubbles to be on their side. As amazingly awesome as this would be, it would bother a lot of teammates who would see foes under the effect of a mez animation they weren't under. This would not be as much of an issue if duration were fixed, though (causing animations to only last as long as the actual power's duration)
All in all, /signed, but it needs a lot of work.
