  1. Relotting my corr today as she hit 50 and needed the last few IOs.

A bid on a Rag failed; out of space. So I sold some Stabilized Mutant Genomes which I had stored. Grabbed the cash and tried to rebid on the Ragnarok and ... you guessed it ... rebid on a Stabilized Mutant Genome.

My own stupidity but it's still painful.

Congrats to whomever received the windfall.

My corr is chucking fireballs at me. Be a while before she finishes her IOs now.
  2. Congrats. Please reverse-PL meh.
  3. I understood the Vet Reward system since the day I started playing. It had some nice benefits and was incredibly simple. Every three months you got a 'perk'.

The new system isn't clear, isn't simple and yet more unnecessary currencies. Are you guys trying to kill CoX by making it so complex no one bothers with it?

I can understand wanting to incentivize newer players who can't wait for the little perks like Base TP, Reveal etc but this system doesn't make any sense to me. I've read the stuff several times and I just think ... "I'm not going to get any more Vet Rewards. Darn."

You're giving me points every month but they don't count and I have to BUY other points?! I'm not paying you money for to access the vet rewards which I currently get free within my subscriptions.

Either write a proper, simple and clear explanation or for the love of the game, please stop doing dumb stuff like this.
  4. Just a "Thank you" to Willow for putting together a MoLam yesterday.

I don't have a lot of time to play at the moment and it was great to get that last Mo (until Tuesday?!) out of the way.

    Thanks to all who joined.
  5. http://goingrogue.cityofheroes.com/e...me-stores.html

Why does that have different dates for the discount? I just bought 10 slots so I'm hoping the official forum is right!
  6. I've had some trouble getting into the forum recently but I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread.

Below is the build I'm going to go for initially. Thank you all.

Oh dear yes! I know we seem to be dumbing down CoX but really those messages are unecessary. So is Maruaders constant spam; I've turned NPC chat off because of him.

    Definitely not you. Definitely annoying.

  10. Another belated reply from me. You have my sympathies. Losing a pet sucks.
  11. I tried to post in this a few days ago but couldn't get the page to load so please forgive the tardy reply.

Personally, for me a tank is there to take the aggro. They can't do that if held and getting the whole team held (by not backing off) is to me just a tank not doing its job. (My personal view of the AT, I don't believe I've ever had experience of your tanking although I think I was on one unpleasant BAF with you or perhaps another tank that just stood there and got the whole team held.)

I note you said in another thread you've changed your playstyle a bit but personally all I'd have asked is to know in advance (preferably before the BAF started) that you don't back off. If I know before then I can leave the team. If you don't mention it until after the start then I'd have to watch your details and back off which wouldn't be my first choice having to micromanage another team mate but ... it's better than getting wiped.
  12. Text is a lousy medium in which to communicate. You lose tone, body language and intent. (I've got a VERY dry sense of humour which can be difficult to convey in text. My low tolerance of idiocy is very easy to convey however. )

I'd agree Guardian is a pretty friendly server - yes there are idiots here but that's why I use gignore and notes. Unfortunately, the new Raids can make it harder to avoid the complete muppets but at least there's usually something else to do.

Hey BB, I've not seen any of your pet-peeves ... I could do some of them if you like ..
  13. The Incarnate system hasn't been very well thought out and sleep-walking through old-school Master runs is indicative of that.

The amount of Incarnate content released was so small that removing the use of Incarnate powers from 'normal' content would leave players with two TFs (Apex and Tin) initially. Even now it would leave those two TFs and the two new Raids (LAM and BAF) if Incarnate powers weren't available in the maint content.

Personally I would be fine with that - I believe if you have Incarnate powers you should be using them on Raids built for that purpose. However I'd expect many others wouldn't agree.

So unfortunately we're left with the situation where people are sleep walking through the majority of content - including Master runs.

I'm very proud of the Mo's I've done (all at level 50, some without set IOs). I wouldn't get the same satisfaction from running them now because in my eyes running them with eight +1s (and other toys) is meaningless. However, it seems that a lot just want to walk through content rather than use tactics or co-ordination the way I did on my Mos and so won't give up their shinies.

I'm sure we've all been on a team where we wanted to work together but a heavy-IO'd char joined and either just solo'd/sped the mission/TF because they could solo the whole content. Incarnate powers being available in normal content has exacerbated that problem a great deal.

For myself I'd love to see all the Incarnate powers removed from use in non-Incarnate content (IE everything but Apex, Tin, LAM and BAF at the moment) because it really isn't necessary and dumbs-down the content. Unfortunately it will never happen and I think it's a shame because being on a team with a lot of the Incarnate heavy powers makes the whole thing a joke.

Remove Incarnate shifts/powers/toys from Master runs? Definitely. Absolutely. We aren't talking about reducing the amount of healing required for a badge from insane to reasonable, we're talking about content that was perfectly playable before and is now just ... Pacman level.

On a side note is anyone else having issues getting this site to load? Seems to be hanging a lot when I try and it's only this forum.

I think the whole thing is silly. However I had this on my second account. I rang and spoke to them and got the account unlocked, reset password etc. But they didn't unban my IP so I was still locked out and had to contact them again to get that done before I could get into my Master acct.

Funny thing is, I was planning to get in to buy several Booster Packs. =P NCSoft has made it impossible for me to GIVE THEM money. That's just silly.
They probably didn't lift the IP block. Same thing happened to me. Try emailing them telling them what they messed up.

I doubt anyone is still even reading this thread let along they'll change it to something more sensible. Shame about all those locked out and quit because of such a badly designed implementation.
  17. Be nice if someone could be bothered to post that they know it's over-running.
  18. There seem to be numerous issues with the new Raids and the attitude I'm seeing from NC is "tough we don't care".

    So far I've experienced:
    • Random disbanding of the league mid Trial
    • Crash to desktop without warning
    • Sound loop lock up
    • Rejoin LFG not working

I didn't care when the league disbanded at the second mob but I do object to losing the reward after waiting nearly an hour for the Trial to start, participating fully throughout the raid (including the final fight) and losing out because the game crashed as the final boss was at 3% health and I couldn't rejoin.

Any other TF I'd have got the reward for being on the final map. Even when on the tank team with Hami, a petition would get the reward returned to me. On these Raids I get "you weren't on the map and we can't verify anything".

So I would say to anyone right now don't play these TFs for the rewards. Because you probably won't get them and if you don't, no one is going to care. Apparently fully participating throughout the Trial counts for nothing.
  19. I have every sympathy.

PUGs can be a horrid experience and while a team of 8 is bad enough, larger teams just give more opportunities for it to go wrong. Add that to the 'stand around for an hour to form' and I can absolutely understand why he doesn't want to bother.

I pay to play not stand around doing nothing.
  20. If anyone has any commentary relating to the updated build I posted in post 12, I would appreciate it.

Although I am also tempted by 4) Drop maneouvres and take Snow Storm.
  21. Thank you all for your responses! The time you took to post is much appreciated.

I've done a bit of tweaking (and probably have more to do; please let me know!) and the result is below.

I have a few options on this build still:
    1) Grav in Web Grenade and then KC in Boxing to hit the S/L def soft-cap
    2) Enfeebled in Web Grenade and move the slots from boxing but take a bit of a hit on the recharge
    3) Enfeebled in Web, keep the KC in boxing and replace Hover with Snow Storm

I'm pretty undecided on all of those options. I like Snow Storm and am a bit nervous of losing it but that's probably because I played so long without Sleet. (I duo'd with a Cold Def and how I envied him!)

My energy/neg def is not as good which worries me a bit and the previous focusing on ranged def (hence my previous odd slotting of snowstorm).

Anyway, here's the update. Any further thoughts?

  22. Well after reading someone raving about one of these, I decided to make one. She is a HUGE amount of fun. Just at Patron Arc level right now but I'm planning for her level 50 build.

My plan was perma-benumb and perma-heatloss. With decent defence. My fire/dark corr and d3 def feel more solid than my rad/rad corr and I think it's because the former two are softcapped while the rad is about 35% def.

I'm not the worlds best frankenslotter so no doubt there could be some improvments there.

Below gets me the permas (with Spiritual Alpha) which I wanted but it is quite expensive for me. I generally go cheap as possible but will splurge if it's worth it so I'm pretty open-minded if anyone has any comments. Think I should be good with 10% def; fine, please say so!

    Thank you for your time.

(Yes I have had a look at the other fire/cold thread too.)

  23. Can't disagree with a lot that's been said here.

Base salvage - for me - was too complex (I hadn't been playing long). I avoided base editing until it was abolished.

The Alpha Incarnate trees/salvage confused me a bit but a crib sheet of TF=salvage worked fine. WTF=Notice; got it.

But these new Raids and Incarnate slots. UGH! We really didn't need another bunch of currencies. Threads should have Shards. The existing ingredients (like Essence of the Incarnate) could have been used for the new slots too. Alright, maybe the Raids could drop ONE piece for the new slots. Maybe the new Raids could have just dropped Notices.

Unfortunately I think we're now not only stuck with this hodge-podge of confusion, but I suspect it will get worse with the future slots.

KISS - keep it simple stupid - is not a bad thing!
