You forgot to fit in a couple of Dragon's Tails

I'd probably mix it up a little like : BoS, DT, BoS, SA, BoS, SC, Burnout, BoS, DT, BoS, SA, BoS, SC.

Likely using the third or fourth BoS to move to a new spawn cos the first one would be a little broken by that point

Or even, put Shield Charge earlier in the chain, then use the second BoS to move the a new spawn, and possibly the 5th/6th to a third spawn, so that's potentially three spawns destroyed by AoE in one chain...

It'll never happen, but if it did I'd throw the Cottage rule out the window in a heartbeat on my already rather strong MA/Shield scrapper.

The Manga's now on a monthly release schedule in Japan, rather than weekly, too, which means it's going slowly.

I also found the last couple of volumes from Viz's worth of plot to be somewhat confusing, but that may just be me.

I don't recall, were you around for the Hallowe'en event, or did you read anything about it?

That's another fixed 4 person event, and another fun one, and the Murder of Crows Costume change emote you could get from looks damn good.

There wasn't much difference I could tell between this 'perfect' team and one of the less talented squads I ran it with. Still got randomly teleported around to fight waves of goons & a couple of bosses.
So far as I can tell, the structure of the Heist is:

    1) an hour ago, first half of the technical side of the heist.
    2) Flash forward to an hour later/'now' as the first wave of the security/mob goon response catches up with you.
    3) Flash back to just after the first half of the technical half, wrapping up the actual heist.
    4) flash forward again to 'now' the second part of the security/mob goon response.

If you resequence it to 1,3,2,4 then you get the chronological sequence, whereas 1,2,3,4 is the edited film structure.

I quite like it, but you do need to be paying attention to *all* the cutscene text, like the one where is tells the Hacker to go to the generator roon in the third phase. The number of people who didn't read that, or didn't notice it, or didn't pay attention if they did notice it was moderate IME of running the event.

I don't know what missing the various parts of the heist actually do, as barring unfortunately timed DC's, all of the runs I did were pretty smooth.

Best I ever managed on the Ninja Monkey badge, however was this :

That was with 2 blasters, me on a Kinetics Defender, and a /sonic Corruptor. Lots of monkeys fell over <grin> We got 60 Ninjas too.

And for all I know, you may *like* the emergency room. There are a lot of odd people out there on the internet <grin>

On a more serious note, I freely admitted I've not yet played the set (I have bought it, just not yet played it). I *do* like seeing opinions on sets from people who aren't at 50 and who are playing through the bulk of the game, because as far as content goes, there is FAR more non-50 than 50.

Also, I suspect my own rather peculiar at times sense of humour may not translate too well to text, I thought I'd get in with the semmingly obligatory 'but it's aoe sucks!' comment before anyone else did

Shh, don't you know that 'official forum sentiment (tm)' is that Street Justice's AoE sucks!1!1!!!

Of course, not having tried the set myself, I can't comment, but I thought the AoE was TAoE, not PBAoE?

Anyway, it's always nice to hear the opinions on a set from someone who's playing the set in the bulk of the gameplay (i.e. not 50).

Oh, and Goat, what are you using to take the screenshots? IIRC you switched to using .tga's, have you tried to switching back to .jpg, to see if that resolves it?

PS, no more Summer Event, sorry, but it should be gone after maintenance/patchy patchy today.

Yesterday, I was on a 8 man team with my Will power tank, going against Carnies. Man, I was getting clobbered!! I had to keep using greens like crazy. That never happened before, never. I immediately said to myself, "Can't believe those dev's nerfed my tank" This morning, I was playing with my stone tank, and the same thing happened again!! Someone on the team was talking about incarnates (I heard about that, not familiar with that, but I do know u gotta be lvl 50 for that) I kept saying my teammates, "no no, you don't understand. My stone tank rarely got a scratch lol" He also said, "it depends who you are fighting" My tanks went against anything without issues. I am aware that the devs are on this balance trip. Meaning, they want all classes to work together on a team for survival. Am I wrong??.....Please guys and gals, help a old timer out here. What's really going on? Thank you.
Line breaks and paragraph breaks would help make this actually readable.

Against carnies, unless you've got high AoE or Psi defence, you're going to get endurance drained.

Unless you've got high DDR, your defence is going to get shredded by fencers.

If you're facing Dark Ring Mistresses or a Master Illusionist with a Dark Servant out, your regeneration is going to take a hit (probably floored).

Carnies are one of those groups that throw *everything* at you. Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Psi, Endurance Drain, Damage and To Hit debuffs, Regen debuffs, Holds (and a couple of Master Illusionists all popping their Illusionists and getting lucky *can* hold a tanker), Recovery Debuffs and probably some other things I've forgotten.

If you're taking the alpha from an 8 man spawn of them, it's going to hurt unless you're built to take it or have lots of support. If you get hit by a Mask of Vitiation, then it's going to hurt LOTS, pretty much regardless of how much support.

If you're in Granite and not running rooted too, you're going to get endurance drained. You're also going to get hit by every Spectral Wounds, Blind and Psi blast going, as you're not going to have much in the way of psi defence.

Sorry, but to me Carnies are a group that demands respect to fight.

(except for my Stone/Fire scranker, who stomps into large spawns of Carnies (using normal Stone Armour toggles, not Granite) for fun and to give Vanessa DeVore a headache )

Tanker Energy Torrent is KnockDown, not KnockBack.

<shrug> you can get all the badges in one run if everyone knows what they're doing, two runs at the most.

The Summer Event badges were easy enough to get that getting them on all alts was just a matter of running the event on all my alts, twice at most.

Yeah, I know that by a lot of lunatics on this board, that's a tiny number of alts, but I've never really been one for altitis. And I play only on Union, so slots are limited (ish... I've got 36 slots available)

23 of them are 50, the other's at 45 currently. I tend to work on one character at a time, and I'm not letting myself roll any new toons until I get this one finished off, since she's been sat on the sidelines for a year and a half while I worked all my others up to +3 through trials.

So, in a week or three I may actually be able to play a Water Blast, Titan Weapon or Street Justice character and see what the fuss is about <grin> (bought the sets because I had the points, not tried them yet)

    Looks pretty good to me.

One thought though, I don't know if you've done any Incarnate trials on any of your alts or not, but for this character, burning 10 Astrals or 2 Empyreans on the Binary Aura may be worth a look.

Unfortunately, I'm struggling to find a screenshot of it in use, and 10 minutes of digging through the best costumes thread is turning nothing up so far.

    <time passes>

Ah, here we go - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz8exl1phJg the first aura in that linked video is Binary.

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...postcount=7191 also has some pics of it in different colours.

Union can add another couple of runs to its total. (group photos in the linked image)

Unfortunately, I've lost count of the running server totals. Oh well.

Oh, and as with all of Union's runs that I know of, and referring to the other RHW thread in this section of the boards, this was a simple, straightforward run. Everyone on the ground, in tight to Tyrant for aoe buffs, heals and Fulcrum shifts. Run away when the air crackles and keep shooting if you're ranged, run back in when clear to keep pounding.

And once again I managed to faceplant on the first run about 10 seconds after summoning my Lore pets... Hohum. Caught in an invisible Lightning Flow and dead before I realised (which doesn't take long on a MM).

Congrats again to Union and spare congratulations to any other intrepid groups of idiots that have managed the badge in the recent past

    Good grief...

I just (?) went after all the badges on all 24 of my alts.

End result (total more than 24, because a couple of runs missed badges, so some alts got more than one drop. Well I wasn't going to run one without an OF drop, so they ran it again the following day )

    Code:
    Acc/Dam - 6
    Acc/Dam/End - 2
    Acc/Dam/End/Rech - 5

    End/Rech - 5
    Proc - 7
Nothing in there that makes me think it's not fully random, especially given my tiny sample size.

Neither of those were changing the type of the set bonus, and neither of them changed the enhancement types/values of the IO's. THAT is what I don't think they can really do, without needlessly annoying a lot of players with existing builds that use current IO's

I don't think they CAN alter existing IO enhancement/set bonuses.

Misapplying it here, but the sentiment may be understood, - 'Cottage Rule' - fiddling with existing IO's has the potential to mess a lot of people's builds up, which would lead to fallout that can be avoided just by not altering anything.

The best they can probably do is new sets.

Of course, it's been a while since we saw any of those, but hey ho...

If however, enough flashbangs landed to suppress Glacial, Frozen and Wet Ice, (and possibly Weave/tough too, if they had them) then his defence would plummet and he'd pretty much by instagibbed by a +4/x8 spawn of KoA since all he'd have by way of defence at that point would be set bonuses and whatever Energy Absorption buffs he had at that point.

They don't drop, but they do suppress.

You get mezzed, you lose the protection from your toggles, so more hits land and you get nailed. Also, once KoA start hitting you with their 'knives', expect your defence to drop even further, as your DDR suppresses too with the toggles that provided it.

An Ice tanker (typed defence) doesn't have anything that'll protect against being hit by KoA Flashbangs directly, other than what AoE defence came from your set bonuses, whereas a Shield tanker (positional defence) will avoid most of the stuns and not get into trouble in the first place. Hence the lack of problems mentioned by Sinisterdirge on his shield tanker.

All this is IIRC, of course.

By Saturday I will be able to run 5 more villain tips, turn villain, and do the patron arc.
OK, I know this is likely trying to teach my granny to suck eggs, but please please make sure you've spent the Hero merits before you go Vigilante.

I hate to see time and effort disintegrate into binary dust.

For those following this thread who may not know what I'm talking about, if you leave Hero alignment, even just as far as Vigilante, any and all Hero Merits you have disappear. They don't come back if you go back to Hero, either. Poof! Dust.

The same applies to Villain Merits and going to Rogue.

Also, given that IIRC, there are some limitations on how fast you can spend Alignment Merits, having a few racked up can mean a delay in switching alignment.

I'm sure Organica's already considered all this, but no harm in asking

I 'lost' 1 Bn on a level 10 Panacea proc recipe.

Mind you, in both cases, I didn't lose the inf really, I got something shiny in return. 30 LoTG recipes and a Panacea proc recipe.

As soon as I saw the LoTG purchases, I went round to my other alts that had inf stored in slightly lower bids and yanked the bids, relisting the inf at a safer margin on other things.

If nothing else, the Market fees burned about 250M of my play money, thus offsetting maybe about 2 seconds of inf supply inflation <grin>

I do recall that some people on the market boards lost big when converters came in initally, as Organica says.
