You know what really grinds my gears?
When you can't find the glowie your looking for.

Hey I'll toss my arc in to the mix, more feedback makes for better arcs.
17006 - End Game. Link in my sig. It is a somewhat difficult level 40-50 arc. I find Melee toons have an easier time than range toons, but both should be able to complete it fine.
I will be playing 246007 tonight, both because I enjoy Crey arcs and because the title reminds me of a Megadeath song.
Feel free to post spoilers as needed/wanted/desired. While the arc has some surprises but nothing I will cry about being written about. -
Very nice!
One aspect of this character that you hit on perfectly is the pawn shop. He is a hero powered by his artifacts rather than his own super powers. I like the gloves with the shoulder pieces as it really reflects this "thrown together from what was around" look.
I may end up using some of these ideas for my second costume slot. Third is going to be a more future looking armor, and fourth is the man without any of the artifacts.
Great job -
Quote:Funny you should say that.
My son is an aspiring artist and being able to bring him here and also show him the free items I have been fortunate enough to receive gives me a way to encourage him to continue his art. I don't have a scanner but I do work at a photo studio and have been trying in my little free time to photograph his art and plan to submit some here. For 11 years old he is doing pretty amazing stuff. I know, I know, he's my son and I'm a little biased but so what!
My wifes sister (She lives with us, currently lvl 14...I mean 14 years old) is also very artistic. I have a couple of commissions coming and I can not wait to show her the results to see if I can inspire her creativity. Been tossing around the idea of giving her one of my characters and seeing what she could do with it...but school comes first
On a general note, this has to be the friendliest forum in CoH. I never found my way here in all my years until a few months ago and now it is the first place I check. Well that and the Tanker forum -
Quote:Actually I had a complete brain fart when writing that. You are 100% correct in that.
I may be misreading your post, Calash, so correct me if I am; it sounds like you're implying that +maxhp will improve Healing Flames. This isn't the case, it uses a static table that is based off your base hitpoints. It doesn't matter if you have 1875 hp or 3212 hp, it will always heal ~468 hp (base).
After coffee the reason to aim for +HP is to have a larger base to absorb incoming damage. Assuming no +Def in your Fire/ build you will get hit with the majority of incoming damage (not all, just most of it). Resistance reduces this and your HP must absorb the remaining damage. More HP means less panic, at least in my book -
Proposition #322: Banning banana peels from being thrown in the street.
Proposed by: The Super Speeder Alliance. -
While traditional Pie is quite round, new math states that Pie can indeed be square.
However, to put your mind at ease Pie R Round > Pie R Square for almost all values of Pie, save one.
Pocket Pie R Square > Pocket Pie R Round.
Oddly this is the exact same formula used to calculate ToHit when standing near the donut shop in Faultline. -
Hey, it is one of the best Damage per Endurance powers in the game
-
A Fire/ Tank has to play to the strenghts of the set. This is Damage, Resistance, and Healing.
Tough helps push your resists up. Aiming for some set bonuses will also make life a bit easier.
For Damage you have a few options. Fiery Embrace is one of the hidden gems of the set. Double stack it with buildup, or stagger them for increased damage goodness.
I tend to stay away from Burn myself, mostly because I am a bitter Vet who was...well....burned too many times by the power changes. Paired with /Fire you are going to have a hard time getting the most out of it Solo.
Blazing Aura is a nice addition to your damage output.
Consume. Yes...Consume. People will laugh, or argue, or just rant. The point it that you get a Fire based PbAoE that costs no endurance to use. Being fire based it gets full benefit from Fiery Embrace. Double stack Build-up and Fiery Embrace and it will do some nice damage for the endurance cose.
Healing: The Healing Flames buff really gave Fire Tanks a well needed boost. It is both here and in Consume that Recharge will benefit you the most. Also aim for some of the +HP accolades to get the most benefit out of this. And on that note I shall mention another power that not many people want to talk about.
Temperature Protection: Low levels it is a "Nice to Have" when fighting Outcasts. The true benefit of this however is the +20% slow ressits along with a slot to drop a Steadfastt IO. This will happily stack with the +20% slow resist from the Winters Gift IO (Is that the one? Too early for me to remember.). For some extra fun there is a day job that will drop another +20% in the mix as well, though I find 40% works very well for me.
Also remember to use the strenghts of your secondary. Unfortunately /Fire has little extra damage mitigation but it has Damage. Kill quickly and you will be in good shape. -
Not before Pie Melee and Pie Armor. Just imagine the Taunt...
-
Solo or on a good team I enjoy them. Clearing a Safeguard is a nice chunk of XP bundled with a temp power or two if you get a weapon deal.
Bad team I say pass as the team inevitable will split up and fall apart. -

Oh...I totally misunderstood the rules then. Sorry about that

Very cool idea.
1 - Daybreaker Alpha and my tank, Calash
The story I see:
The two of them charging at the camera, armor dented and burned by the assault of an unknown assailant. Some undescript bodies being batted aside by the pure force of the attack. Some damaged buildings in the background.
Long Story:
The 5th annual “New Hero Technical Conference and Convention” normally is a time for celebration in Steel Canyon. Every year the University donates it’s facilities to the convention designed to both showcase new talent in Paragon City, but also to provide guidance to these upcoming heroes.
Vendors line the streets for miles, selling everything from Positron plushies to Clockwork repellent spray. If it runs on electricity it can usually be found here.
When the Freedom Phalanx was drawn away by Lord Recluse a splinter cell of The Malta Group saw the perfect opportunity to strike. Hundreds of new heroes in once place, minimal security, and the element of surprise would make this operation the largest strike against Metahumans in years.
Or would have had they checked the guest list. For printed at the top was the name Daybreak Alpha who had been invited as a guest speaker. Having just started his speech on the importance of energy transference in modern armor designs when Malta attacked he was armed and ready for the assault.
Even this may have not stopped the attack, the sheer number of troops seemingly overwhelming had it not been for the second name on the guest list, Calash. He had been sent to man the Vanguard recruitment booth and was only a few moments away as the attack began. Fighting his way to Alpha’s side they turned and decimated the attacking forces, saving the new heroes and making for one of the most exciting conventions in the history of the event. -

Do you now understand why I like Pie?
Oh....and has anybody noticed how enhancements look like pie?

My Fire/ eats Rikti alive. If Elec/ will be supirior....I feel real bad for the Rikti
I still have not rolled an Elec/ yet. My two current projects are a SD/Elec that is a blast and a brand new Willpower/Elec. Have not seen this combo talked about much, but it seems like an interesting fit. So far it fun to play, but still below level 10 so that does not count much. -
If there is a need I would be happy to do another one. I had a lot of fun with this round.
I like using the MA so there will not be any custom power colors, but in return there will be some action shots. -

Partner: Krystallas
Character: Dawn Blaze
Bio: I always had a talent for magic, and used it to help people and fight evil. Then one day, a magical group I was fighting blew up some orb and I ended up transported to (and stuck in) an alternate dimension. The people of this dimension looked a little unusual, but I've been doing the same helping them and fighting evil as before. Except, some of them seem just as afraid of me as whatever I saved them from, and they run away saying something about a demon, whatever those are.
Before Pictures.
I read it as she was somewhat of a naive anti-hero. Shunned by humanity for her looks yet compelled to continue fighting for what was right and just. A happy, if misunderstood, lost soul trying to maintain a sense of normality in our chaotic world.
I decided to go Praetorian with her. In this her Bio has changed and become a bit darker.
Character: Infernal Blaze
Bio: I always had a talent for magic. That is why Infernal came for me during a battle with a magical group. Slaughtering them in front of me he too me back to his world, called Praetorian Earth. There he tried to break my spirit and make me serve him.
Oh I struggled at first, and for each attempt to escape he scarred me. First the tail, then an eye. I learned to love him, to worship him, to obey him. In return he showed me how to bind demons to my armor, just as he does.
The power is intoxicating and I no longer wish for anything other than to serve him so that he may make me stronger. Soon even Tyrant will not be able to stand against him.
Some action shots.

I would love a look at mine. It has been updated a bit to try and work out some of the problems.
17006 - End Game. -
Me...I am a casual player.
Wait...didn't we have this discussion a few weeks ago? I remember it getting to 13 pages before a list of 8 different possible play types was proposed and mostly accepted. -
Quote:Slight nitpick, Fire gets 20% Toxic resist per use of Healing Flames. Well slotted it is not hard to keep 60% ressits, should you want them. In most battles I end up with 40% at most times.
Code:EL FA DA S 79 71 71 L 79 71 71 F 55 90 47 C 55 31 47 E 90 47 31 N 47 47 63 T 0 0 31 P 55 0 79
Most of the time you would not ever use Healing Flames for such a purpose, but it is there and does a good job when you need it (ie, lower levels)
As to Elec Melee, I am finding the multi-target aspects to work very well around level 20ish. It takes some planning and positioning but I can regularly hit several mobs at once with little problem. Really looking forward to what it can do at higher levels, especially when paired with SD and paired with Pyre. -
Can a story arc be entered for more than 1 category? If so, how should the entries be handled?
