So how long do you think todays Downtime will be? :P

Quote:I very rarely set foot in PD these days as most of my characters aren't bar type people. I prefer it out in the world or while running missions. Still, everyone has their own style, all equally valid.
I used to go to GG, I can't bring myself to go back, ever since some one pointed out to me the statue is essentially a memorial. Kinda squicky people having their social evening on a monument devoted to a dead heroine.
Pocket D does serve for a nice location for my more socially inclined characters, though I would love to see a few RP friendly cross faction RP spots added.
Mission roleplay is <3 though! -
I'd like them to implement actual power suppression in Pocket D, just like the quiet rooms in AE buildings.

I've been told if you run the old updater and let it fix things, then it works.
Just tested it and yeah it works. -
Also getting it when trying to connect to Union EU

Quote:Silver, being in vehicle mode, obviously had no face on which to hang an expression. But his voices tone did a good job of conveying 'raised eyebrow'.
"Well...up to you guys. What d'ya reckon?"
From her position inside Silver, Awesometastic Girl pipes up!
"They are talking about locking us up! I vote we skedaddle right now!" -
Awesometastic Girl takes one look at the police readying 'better' guns, before wiggling into the back seat, keeping low to the 'cars' floor, the more metal between her and the guns the better in her book. Even if said metal was a transforming robot!

Quote:"Well, anyone who wants a ride, hop in," he offered, machinery giving off the same distinctive sound as he transformed back to vehicle mode, the cars four doors popping open at the same time.
"Shotgun!" Awesometastic Girl yells, before diving into the front passenger seat. -
Quote:
She moved a hand to point at the captain, My vote would be to go to this City Hall, there we can ensure I get some nice diplomatic quarters for us all
"Hey if we are lucky they might have some of those little gold wrapped chocolate ball things!" Awesometastic Girl says cheerfully, the idea of not hanging around with police at a crime scene very attractive right now. -
Quote:Also, quick question. Obviously for plot purposes but also out of cheer curiosity - putting aside creative licence, what would normally be the legal ramifications, in the United States of America, of a civil servant (registered or otherwise) killing a murderous gunman/terrorist? ...using high-explosives to the face, or not.
Reminds me of some Texas sheriff I heard about whose team shot dead a 'crazed gunman'. When asked why they'd shot him 64 times he replied
"Because that's all the ammunition we had." -
Quote:I'm asking people not to voice their opinions until they've had some time to experience the trials and formulate decent opinions from experience.
This requires maturity, though. I guess I am being ridiculous asking for something like this on the internet.
You do know people have experienced them in the beta right?
"Hey don't complain about eating this bowl of crap, there might be ice cream under all the poo!" -

Quote:I'd actually if folks kept complaining. If the devs plan to make any tweeks later the complaints might help. Notice I said MIGHT.
Soooo, I completely disagree with your suggestion.
It might make the progression in the next slots a lot less derpy.
Progressing by climbing a mountain made of your own corpses, shouldn't be the method for anyone other than MultipleMan. -
Quote:Please stop acting as though unlocking Incarnate slots means anything. The only difference between my level 50 and one with Interface unlocked is the latter has a shiny new badge. This is Yet Another Thing that I strongly dislike about the Incarnate system.
Right now, after three miserable failed Lambdas, I'm actually sitting pretty at 91% Interface. But I also only have about a third of the threads I need to actually do anything with it. This dissonance has sapped much of my enthusiasm.
.
Run some BAF's the mobs are a lot less cheaty and you get a type of merit that can be turned into four threads several times through out the mission. -

Quote:And my opinion is that raging and declaring new content to be horribly broken and badly designed after less than 24 hours of it being live and still brand new to 90% of the game's players is ridiculous.
ALL of the same things I am seeing said about the trials have been said about EVERY new task force that has been introduced to the game since I started playing.
And I thought people raging about how hard they were on the first day of their release was stupid then too.
I'll outright say that content that requires a reward to pass, which also awards that reward is very poor game design.
"Oh you need tier 10 gear to beat the cave of dragons!" Vet guy
"And where do I get tier 10 gear?" Newbie Guy
"By beating the cave of dragons!".
Or in this case, to even the field with the 'cheaty' mobs we need the slots and level shifts granted by the trials. Dying a whole bunch of time so you can grind enough threads and ixp so your AT can actually begin to function is not 'good' game design. -

Quote:I understand that's how you "feel" about it. There are parts of this game I don't like either.
I just think asking the Devs to make adjustments to things based on the narrow point of view of the play experience of one AT during one set encounter is not a very viable suggestion. Somehow you'd have to make the case that every encounter in every trial/TF/SF should be made to be "friendly" to every AT, and I simply don't think you've made that case. Again I'll point out that I might like to stand toe-to-toe in melee against AVs using my Controllers but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon either because there's no obvious justification for it.
Put your energy into figuring out how you can adapt to the new challenge the Devs have provided.
The chance the Devs are going to change this aspect of the trial to make it more "AT friendly" is just about nil.
They've managed it for bleeding years.
You can stand 'toe to toe' with an AV with your controller, hell you can even 'control' the AV.
The situation for masterminds would be the same for controllers, if say the next Incarnate trial, all the mobs were immune to all forms of crowd control. So a controller has their damage massively nerfed, and effectively they are dead weight on the team.
That is the problem facing with the Lambda and it's artillery. -
Quote:Raiding to gear up so you can continue to raid for new raids....I have seen this game design before....
It's actually the opposite to that.
It would be like if genre leader MMO let you run raids unsuccessfully a couple of dozen times, then took 'pity' on you and gave you the gear to accomplish the raid.
Now if the Judgment etc slots were needed to complete the new trials, and had to be earned from other things, then it would be gearing up for a raid. -

Quote:So it's wrong for different ATs to have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to tactical situations?
For some reason I'm incredibly sure the Devs would disagree with you.
[EDIT] Just as a case in point I ran the Lambda Trial 3 times last night and each time the league I was with managed to circle around and kill off all the artillery within 3-5 minutes. There were even a few MMs in the those leagues and I saw no one complaining. Forgive me if this really does seem like a non-issue.
Wrong artillery mate.
Not the turrets, when you are fighting Marauder if you aren't in melee range you can barraged by an artillery themed AoE. It doesn't have an origin mob, it's just part of the encounter.
Different tactics sure, but asking one AT to effectively 'sit out' of the final challenge of the trial, isn't good game design in the slightest. Especially for a game that has always been about 'bringing the player' and not bringing the class.
