    blaster guide?

Those who choose the path of the Blastor must accept death has a hundred faces and them Blastors will see them all.

    At least twice.
  2. Count Kredenc (lvl 47 stone/inve brute) in; 6 o'clock is perfect for me.
  3. Well, I tried my Ill/Rad in Warburg (only lvl30 she is), and I found that it is easy to survive with her. I couldn't beat anyone tho. The prob is, phantoms have way too long spawn animation time - as an attack they are weak because of this (and if you spawn them before, you'll get noticed too early, and noone will come close). So in practice you don't have much damage. You can easily annoy people, but that won't make them dead. Hunting a stalker down is a fun challenge tho...imagine two invisible dorks chasing each other.

But...if you have a scrapper/blaster friend you give invis, you 2 can be the gank squad easily be feared

Or not. Wiser ones may correct my words.
  4. When I first went PvP with my ice/nrg blaster I was shocked by the uselessness of the holds I had. I think it is better if you strenghten your end drain side. Therefore short circuit is a must (it just plainly rocks power-boosted I guess). I am not sure voltaic sentinel worth the slot, maybe someone wiser can say something more in depth :-).
  5. Thanks guys, I took Ice finally. Hibernate works well, especially useful when in big teams. But since I have a fair amount of respecs, maybe I will try the other ones later (fire would fit my concept best, but I will see what to choose).
  6. I took hasten at lvl 41 finally, so patrons can wait a bit.

Having lots of chat ingame about this matter I really found that PPPs for brutes are hardly taken, and if they are, it is because of only one or rarely two powers from the set. Don't they need a revamp maybe (anyone took the pet?)?
  7. I don't think that ice armor or fiery aura would be possible concept-wise (how do you hide with half a ton ice around you or glowing like a torch?). BS would be a joke. Ice melee could be interesting, but it might need a full reconstruction (I mean more attack types with that ice sword you know, and much less control). But that wouldn't be prolification would it?

    Electrical melee?
  8. Hey all, my stone melee/invincibility brute just hit lvl 41 and I was wondering what patron pool shall I get for him. This is my first villain to lvl 41, so I am a bit dumb about it.

As I checked the patron powers, I found that they are pretty much the same, except for the type of damage they cause.
If you could recommend one or two and share your experiences with them, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,

  9. A brute with claws would still look better than with two swords. So because they can have double blades, I sould say yes for claws.

What was the name of that evil big guy from x-men? Sabertooth?
  10. What about a FFA fight in arena for lvl 5 stalkers only. No insps, no temp powers. I wish I could see that :P

To be serious, I see a point in Thundorn's idea, but keeping in mind how I gimped my DM/regen scrapper mate with my fire/ta troller when he was out of BFs, I am not sure it would be fun or not. Worth a try maybe.

Anyways, keep us informed Thundorn, and we'll see

    Slight problem

As others said, communication may be the solution for your problem. If you don't have the time to tell them how your powers work before the fight, you will have plenty after the first team wipe

There are many powers and tactics that need explanation to work in a team (anchor-type powers, herding, stalk n run, and so on), so don't be shy telling yours
  12. My Fire/TA has just reached lvl 41 and I found that I am really helpless about choosing an epic for her.

I took all the powers from the primary and secondary sets except for smoke and poison gas arrow.
I only took fitness pool for stamina and speed pool for hasten and SS (which I pretty hate in some zones )

I did look into all the sets, but there is one power in every set that looks very good.

So if you could help me guys to decide, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Defiance

It is clear that a blaster inherent should buff damage like hell. Also, end recovery bonus would be logical too (you don't care about your exhaustion while hurt and angry).

I don't agree with any kind of res and/or def buff, because a blaster inherent should be like some kind of berserk mode.
Blasters aren't out there to defend themselves, they are pure damage ;-).

A clicky sounds cool, but it would look too dominatorish (but would definately work I say).
Or yeah, give us the big bonus much earlier, not just when we are too close to being defeated.
Or maybe progressive bonuses that increase by level a bit?

    Tanker Team?

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. Luckily, tomorrow (friday) I will be able to be with you guys. Choko Crisp is lvl 11 now, so she might need exemping (no matter, a little extra inf is always good.)

what time shall we start? 6 gmt?

    Tanker Team?

I have a lvl 10ish cool little girl in chocolate armor on Defiant waiting for action (stone/ice). Which day would we start?

Oh, @Bleach and Choko Crisp btw...

    Tanker School

Tanker is an AT I kept myself far away from for a long time, but now I have a Ice/NRG one (lvl 17 now), and I completely disagree with anyone who says that the only way is scrapping for a lowbie tank.
I've done and am doing the following:
    - gather a team. A big one. (although the manual says a tanker can solo, I say it is wrong)
    - turn on my toggles. Yes, _all_ of them. (I've taken everything from my primary, except for permafrost, which is not a toggle ;-))
    - run into a mob, herd them
    - pray
    - trust my buddies
(when things turn wrong, I tell peeps to run, and wait till they all have fled. Yes, I die if they haven't)

I rarely use my attacks, and if I do it is just to land the final punch for a baddie, or to stun them for a while.
I think, a tank's purpose is to get and to keep itself attacked, not to do damage.

But correct me if I am wrong.

    PvP harrassment?

Lol, I wasn't saying that GMs do nothing, I know they work hard.

Someone says bad things to you. You send petition. Someone gets his ban. _Days later_
But at the moment of abuse you are the loser of the situation, and the abuser is the winner. Attention makes them feel powerful. Petition is a form of attention too.
("hey, I can't be nobody if I got banned!")

Ignoring them is the only way to stop them immediately.
But, as always, everyone decides his way.

I choose fun, and I don't care who speaks what if that's not fun.

    PvP harrassment?

    True, true, true.
But I don't want to be kind to people because they don't let me be bad.

I want to be kind because it feels good.

But of course, we need laws. I talked about how to handle those who brake them.
  23. Brush

    PvP harrassment?

As I see, petitioning won't stop the abuser do their thing.
Getting no reaction (/ignore?) to any verbal abuse will leave abusing pointless tho.
Everyone who's shouting are in need of getting attention. Don't give them this pleasure.

Or, lets say you are kind to everyone?
    Example:
    - Hey, you f*** b******, you are one hell of a s***** n00b, you can't even **** the **** ******.
    - Nice cossie, man.
    - ....?

Most people think they can teach good manners by getting down to the abusers level. I think that you make your own feelings for yourself. You are the responsible if you feel bad (please don't say exaples from RL about bad accidents, deaths and stuff, because that is a different story of course).

I just wanted to show a technique to keep yourself happy in CoX regardless of anyone who are there to ruin your fun.
If you think it does not suit you - I don't mind, you make your decisions. I am happy with any behaviour you choose (even abusers are welcome to team me, we are all humans dammit ).

But keep in mind that revenge have never solved anything. And /petition is one form of it (imo, at least).

I know it is far easier to point to Bridger and the support team and say they can not handle verbal abusement properly than decide you won't allow anyone to abuse you anymore.

Well, we pay for support anyways, make them work for it?
That is a point too, I must agree.

    PvP harrassment?

One thing I really don't understand guys, and I really-really mean it.

If someone tells something which is rude in your opinion, why does it bother you?

I mean, let's say GenericHero00123 tells me that he thinks my momma sells her body every night at the truck parking lot.

    There are 2 possibilities:
    - GenericHero00123 speaks truth
    - GenericHero00123 doesn't speak truth

So...what then? Who cares? IMO if you can be abused verbally, that is your weakness. Face it.

Letting yourself get hurt means giving power to the abuser.

If someone is angry, that is his/her problem. Not yours. Why bother yourself?

Try to grow up, build self-confidence, be wise, and stop calling daddy ("/petition") all the time.
And don't let anyone ruin your fun.
(or, you can hate me for my opinion - it's a free world)

(Note: no, I never say bad things to people, and I would _never_ give an advice to do so. I am in Paragon to have fun, and I like having friends. Actually, if I get defeated in Pvp, I tend to gratulate my defeater (saying: "Nice one" can be amazingly calming for both))

    PvP harrassment?

I was in RV with my def for a few times. Most of the time villains punched me bad. I went and I will go back.
    Maybe I just never learn.

(Note: In PVE you got faceplanted more than a hundred times I am sure. The thought that a brainless program can beat you at least a hundred times is more calming than the fact that somebody is better than you in one thing? Now that is something you need to explain guys :P)
