    Scrapper Forum

    [ QUOTE ]
At least such is the general attitude of scrapper players who post on the forums, I have met some blithering idiots in game who wonder why their SR with only 3 powers from their secondary and no slots in them can't solo AVs like they keep hearing about, and accusing people who have done it of lying because they can't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So one day I was on an ITF with my BS/SR scrapper, there was one more scrapper on the team. He as a Claws/SR scrapper we also had a FF troller on the team. In about the 2nd mish I saw that the Claws/SR scrapper die about 4 times now, I think to my self that can't be right. An /SR with just SO should be at 30% defense and with the FF on the team he should be at 40% easy. So he shouldn't be getting killed that much.

I look at his power and he only has 3 of his /SR power 1 toggle and 2 auto powers. I was in shock, I didn't say anything to him but wanted too. He die about 10 times that hole TF.

I want to know what he was thinking after that TF because I was on with my BS/SR and my brother was on with his SS/SR brute and both of us didn't come close to getting killed.

Do all "sets" work that way, where the entire set has to be in the same power to get the set bonus?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes all of the set IO need to be in the same power, It may seem like a lot now but when you start to know what you are doing it gets easy.

here is a Spine/Wp Guide. It should help you out with all you need.

    DB/DM

    [ QUOTE ]
You sure about that? It doesn't suppress heavy mallet from stone on my da/stone tank.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Stone is different from weapons sets. I don't know if it will hide DB because I've never seen one but it does hide Kat, so I would assume it would do the same for DB.

Thanks. I suffer really bad forum search fu.

I have it bookmarked, myself. Lots of good options in that thread.

I bookmarked it too, but my slotting is not in that thread.

    Basic rules:
    1700+ HP
    150+ DPS
    300%+ Regen

    [/ QUOTE ]

300%+ Regen you don't need if you have a self heal it just helps.

    [ QUOTE ]
Basically as I understand it, the easiest way to kill an AV for you would be to fight a Lethal/Melee AV, spam Parry...
Chimera, a nice starter AV, Bobcat isn't far behind.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Chimera is not a good one for a BS to start with. Chimera as 25% Resistance to Lethal so it is going to be hard for a BS/WP to solo him with spamming Parry.

    Perma Hasten ?

    [ QUOTE ]
As someone else mentioned, by the time you have enough recharge to get perma hasten... Do you really need hasten anymore?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, if the attack chain that you want to do you need that much recharge. Like DM, MG>smite>SL>smite. MG needs 234% recharge if I don't take Hasten and only have 110% Global recharge which is around the amount you want for perma hasten. Now if I have 89% in the power that will only be 199% recharge total and I won't be able to run the attack chain that I want too. I will be 35% short, now if I have Hasten Perma I can run it easy.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
How are they different at all? I didnt notice.

    Perma Hasten ?

    [ QUOTE ]
You really don't need to spend that much influence to get a permanent hasten character, do all of the Freedom Phalanx Task Forces and you'll have almost enough merits to buy two Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Increased Recharge Speed. Do various mission arcs will give you enough to buy one. I figure an Super Reflexes scrapper will cost you around two to three hundred million to get permanent Hasten.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well that is a way to cut the cost, but some of the purple recipes cost 200 mil a piece right now. You can get them for around 120 mil but it is going to cost a lot if you if you don't want to hurt your build and get perma hasten.

I currently use Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate -> FS and someone calculated that to be around 185 dps but I'd really like to find another chain that gives me more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How much recharge is required for that chain?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Inc will need 72% recharge in it
GFS will need 133% recharge in it
Cre will need 34% recharge in it
fS will need 0% recharge in it.

So if you can lets say 66% recharge in your attacks that mean you will need 67% Global recharge or if you can put 89% in GFS then you only need 44% Global recharge.

    Incriminating Evidence

This shot was taken during an ITF today with a Troller bubbler a Kin/ Defender and an Empathy Defender.

Take a VERY close look at the defense numbers.

Did I kill stuff FAST? HELL NO! But did I kill it? HELL YEAH!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like that defense numbers window. Is there a guide somewhere that explains how I can set it up to look like that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't know of a guide but
To get that window in game,
go to you power window. up on the top you will see Combat Attributes click on that.
then and window will open up with all of your combat attributes.
To get Defense click on Defesne it will open up all of your Defense like Melee AoE, S/L Fire etc etc.
Then right click on on the defense you want to monitor, it will give you two things to pick from one is Monitor said defense click that. That will give you a small window that you can move anywere on your screen.
  14. To get that window in game,

To get current hitpoints, click on Base at the top and it will open up.
Then right click on Current Hit points, it will give you two things to pick from one is Monitor Current Hit points, click that. That will give you a small window that you can move anywere on your screen.

IIRC the only scrapper build in the 300 club is dm/sheild?

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, just barely, with a super secret build and under ideal circumstances. Lower 200s is much more typical of even the high DPS scrapper builds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How fast did he solo ShadowHunter again?
  16. Incinerate -> Scorch -> Cremate -> Scorch would be the best for non sword attacks, that will be around 170DPS and you will need 144% recharge in Incinerate.

    Perma Hasten ?

    [ QUOTE ]
Hasten lasts 120 seconds and recharges in 450 seconds. To be permanent, you need 450 / 120 = 375% recharge in Hasten, or +275% recharge enhancement. With 3 level 50 IOs in Hasten, you'd only be at +221.5%, so you still have 53.5% recharge to go. Perma Hasten, while possible, will cost an insane amount of influence and dominate your build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hasten need to rechage in 119.076 to be Perma you are forgetting about the cast time

so 450/119.076= 3.779. So 3.779-1=2.779 so 278% you will need. So with 3 IO slotted in that will give you 99.08% with enhancement. So that will mean you need 178.92% Global recharge.

Edit: So with how Werner is saying it you will need 278% and your only at 221.5% so you will need 56.5% to be "truly perma" hasten.
  18. BrokenPrey

    Perma Hasten ?

No it will not be Perma. You will need 180% Global recharge with 3 IO slotted in Hasten. That will be 110% from set bonuses and quickness.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
And no, Rad/Sonic is not an acceptable answer. Or Ill/Rad. Or Fire/Kin. Strangely, despite controllers having some of the highest DPS in the game, they are not scrappers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

hehe your asking the scrapper forums no one is going to tell you these.

when people ask for soloing AV I have 3 that come to mind.

DM/SD-If you have the Inf like 2 bill that it is the best. It will have soft capped defense and a heal and does crazy damage. The damage is also not a common Resisted type so you can solo a lot of AVs.

DM/Sr while doesn't do as good as damage as a Dm/SD it can get to the soft capped a lot easyer. It doesn't cost as much as DM/SD but it is still not cheap. It as the same reason as DM/SD why it is good soft capped Defense with a heal, and a damage that is not common resisted so you can solo a lot of AVs.

Fire/SR- This is the cheap man AV solo. With Fire/SR you can get a great attack chain with little help. /SR is not hard to soft capped too. So that doesn't take a lot of inf to do. Again it is a damage that is not resisted a lot so you can solo more AVs.

those are 3 of the best IMO, there are other that can do it too. These ones just the one I like the most
  20. Lets see in the Inc>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch chain

Inc will need to recharge in 4.092 so that will be 144%
Cremat will need to recharge in 4.224so that will be 89%
Scorch will need to recahrge in 1.716 so that will be 74%

    Now
    Inc>GFS>Cremate>Fire sword

Inc will need to recharge in 5.808 so that will be 72%
GFS will need to recharge in 5.148 sso that will be 133%
Cremate will need to recharge in 5.94% so that will be 24%
FS will need to recharge in 6.072 and that will be 0%

So it look like a 10% recharge is the different in to attacks chains. Both don't seem to be high recharge chains because it is not hard to put 95% recharge in an attack so that would mean you would only need 49% Global at the most.
  21. Skipping GFS is ok like Powerforge said. With the attack chain of Inc>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch will be around 170DPS and the attack chain of Inc>GFS>Cremate>Fire sword can be around 180 DPS so your not going to lose much.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
but for single target AV i would probably say something like a BS/SR and rad/sonic combo would be best.

    [/ QUOTE ]

BS/SR is not the best for ST damage or fighting AV, in fact it is one of the lowest ST damage over time. BS puts up great number but can't keep the damage going. For Scarppers ST damage it is Dark melee and Fire melee, if you want more damage then Shield Defense would be the best to go with. So for ST damage like trying to solo AVs then it would be DM/SD and Fire/SD Scarppers.

    Lucky Day?

Well today I decided to run the Mender Silos TF to get some more AVs with my DM/SD,and have some fun. Well I get to the last mish and start to solo fight some AVs first was Mako he was easy, next I get Silver Mantis on the first attempt, I couldn't believe it. Next I see Ghost Widow again the first attempt. I was in shock I got both of them on the first attempt, it must be my lucky day. Well then I stated to fight Scirocco Yup he is the one to get me. But I'm ok with that if I killed Silver Mantis and Ghost Widow on my first attempt with no temp/no insp I'm happy to lose to Scirocco once.

    All scrapper STF

There is a bug that they heal the towers before you can even hit them.

    CONFIRMED

I reported this on Monday night. We had a scheduled STF event on Freedom with 3 teams running simultaneously. It ended in Epic failure!

The TF as a whole was fine, but the repairmen healed the tower every time, regardless if they died or not. It seems there was a slight AI change that makes foes use healing powers sooner and more often, and it causes them to begin healing the tower before they are even targetable, which means it still gets healed for over +3000 even if you kill them immediately.

Somebody else reported actually completing the STF later that night, but it took longer, and a couple towers were rebuilt repeatedly for the same reason, and they had to be taken down again. I guess it's still possible, but it can be a pain in the neck if you don't have a way to kill the repairmen sooner. I have not personally attempted again since that night.

And by the way, several of us did already /bug and /petition, and we got confirmation from GMs that it was an unintended bug being looked into.
