What's the best Fire chain?
I believe it is Incinerate>GFS>Cremate>Fire Sword.
But, I have a related question: On my FM/SS I have been using Inc>Scorch>Cremate>FS>Scorch since I dont have IOs yet, and I can do that with just a recharge SO in Inc with only a slight delay between the end of the first part and beginning of the next (Scorch>Inc). I calculated the DPS at around 173 (Level 50 with 3 common damage IOs in every power), but that can't be right, because Inc>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch is 170 DPS... Am I doing something wrong or is it really 173 DPS?

Just make sure you hit Build Up before Incinerate...

Didn't you start a Brute at one point in time Powerforge? Or is this for a new AV soloing beast?
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

Figure 89% from Hecatomb, 70% from Hasten, so 78% from global bonuses. Five Luck of the Gamblers, five 5% bonuses and Hecatomb puts you at 72.5%. I'd probably grab another purple set for the other 5.5%, but there are certainly other options, some of which may be better. It's going to be pricey.
If only the attack chain is benefiting from that much recharge, I'd probably use Incinerate -> Scorch -> Cremate -> Scorch instead, but that's definitely a step down in DPS, so not really an answer to the question.

Since this thread is up...what's the best DPS chain using the non sword attacks?
I have the desire to make another Fire Melee/something scrapper...
Willing to move my IOs from my DB/SR to do it...havent decided...right now it's almost close to BF->AV->Repeat (few more IOs to go :/ )
Been playing around with mids trying to get a good FM/WP (softcap S/L/E/N) build going, but no luck yet. I'll figure it out somehow.
BrandX Future Staff Fighter
The BrandX Collection
Incinerate -> Scorch -> Cremate -> Scorch would be the best for non sword attacks, that will be around 170DPS and you will need 144% recharge in Incinerate.

In fact i did! Here's the deal.
As I leveled that brute (Fire/SR) I really wanted an off character to play that would allow me to build patrol XP on my Brute. So I rolled a Mastermind.
The Mastermind is now 50 and pretty well kitted out and that damn Brute is deleted. Masterminding is soooo much fun and being a Brute was so similar to scrapping.
I'm still knee deep in Technogeist at the moment but I really loved Desert Son's name and concept.
Aaaand along comes Iggy.
Now I'm thinking I want to re-imagine Desert Son as Fire/SD if I can build one I'd be happy with in Mid's. So I set out yesterday with Saint October's build and swapped in Fire as my primary. It's still a work in progress but it already has me pretty excited. I may even cannibalize Excelerate to do it if Desert Son makes it to 50.
That's what led me to my question. I was trying to avoid Hasten.
I'll throw the build up and let you guys pick it apart if you like. It's still very early in the process though. Please excuse the power choice order. Still just messing around.
BUT BEFORE THAT!
Surviving Ghost Widow's death hold with only 900 hit points?!?!
This is madness!
Madness?
This. Is. MASTERMINDING!
Errr sorry 'bout that.
Anyway here's the build.

Well, you're using the second-highest DPS chain of the ones I've looked at, so I think your only step up is to the big daddy. It also isn't much of a step up. To me, the main advantage isn't the DPS gain, but rather being able to drop an attack and recover some slots. The main disadvantage is that you'll use all those slots trying to get enough recharge to run it, so I'd probably only take that step if your build otherwise benefits from additional recharge.

This is my current fire/regeneration build. In Fast Healing instead of the two Miracles there are Panacea: Heal and Chance for HP/End and in Tough there Gladiator's Armor: Resistance/Endurance and +Defense. It has 89% from Hecatomb, 70% from Hasten, and in 72.5% from global bonuses. I really want to up my dps so I'm always looking for extra recharge to run Incinerate -> Greater Fire Sword -> Cremate lol.

How much recharge is required for that chain?
[/ QUOTE ]
Inc will need 72% recharge in it
GFS will need 133% recharge in it
Cre will need 34% recharge in it
fS will need 0% recharge in it.
So if you can lets say 66% recharge in your attacks that mean you will need 67% Global recharge or if you can put 89% in GFS then you only need 44% Global recharge.
What's the highest DPS chain for fire please?
