  1. Could do with stone cold but wont be on till 9
  2. Isn't the reason you take a /Emp Troller because you want to be a healer, but rather than just shoot you want to do something differant.

On that I think i'll go make an Ice/Emp and team lots
  3. Mr Butler aka _silent knight_ dings another 50.

Well done m8, now for your Brute.
  4. Depends if you want to be a more traditional tanker roll in the late game or not, Stones Attacks use more end, are slow but do more damage individually. Stone Melee also has fault which unlike hand clap won't knock all opponents out of other players debuff zones, in addition Super Strengths main selling point is Rage, which comes with a whoppin 25 point end drain at the end and -20% to your def for 10 seconds, and you can't effect anyone during that time, so if its critical you need to tank you wont be able to throw a single taunt in that time and your Mudpots wont effect anyone either.

If your Building a Brute Tank the you will need /Stone Armour, but having done one Stone Melee seemed ok to me for the Fault and Tremor attacks to supplement taunt, and all attacks slotted 2 acc,2end,2rech, and away you go.

If you want to be more damageing, don't get /Stone Armour, and go back to the drawing board, as the only reason I got this set was to make a Brute Tank, and have an EM/EA for scrappinn, a Fire/Fire for the amazement of it, always think he shouldn't actually still be standing most of the time, a SS/Inv for the "Classic" approach, an Elec/Elec for the "Oh, these are NEW" bit(Still lvl 10 since launch of I7 lol) and a Dark/Dark for completeness.

Either way all bar the Stone/Stone are Brutes, he's purely the closest you can get to being a Tank in CoV, and to Round off, for the penatlies of Rage ie -end and not being able to effect anything for 10 secs on crash I wouldnt recommend SS.

    EA or SR?

But you can't attack whilst invis mate, and the Def on a EA is above 30% with CJ, so not to shabby, and EA can boost its hitpoints and def without people realising you have because you have hide, thus giving you the extra hitpoint you need in thos "Scrappin" Situations, as well as 45% def boost, you just have to remember to do what all sef respecting stalkers do when th icon starts flashin and RUN LIKE HELL, you just have an extra 3 mins before the run bit hehe. And spines attacks all have a lethal element so def should work against it to defend against its initial attacks, and I suppose the only way to defend against the AoE part might be to waste some slots in hide to boost the Def against that, the only other way to provide a slight mitigation against the DoT would be to slot Health, which would slightly boost your regen to help mitigate the DoT, oh and put at least 2 interrupts in Aid Self.

And btw the Brute does get a stealth, not a good one but it comes with a nice def boost anyway, better def boost then hide gives actually
  7. I can try for 7, but usually on on a sunday between 8 and 9, but as I said will try to get on earlier............(Sneaks off to get sleeping draught for wife and kids )

    EA or SR?

I think you missed the point of using the end drain here mate,, in a stand up fight, which you can do with an EA, as it has a nice God Mode, as does the EA Brute, you don't generally need to use End Drain to top up your end, in PvE it is nice if you want to just keep moving on and on in either AT, as both AT's with EM/EA after a certain level can just run and run, both feel quite similar really, but in PvP I have discovered, especially with Star Furie, you Know that 50 EM/EA brute you have done the LRSF with a few times when you weren't dc'in all the time, that Energy Drain actually becomes an OFFENSIVE Weapon to be used on unsuspecting opponents, wipes about 20 end off then each time it's used when its slotted, and can completley bugger up a /SS tank totally, hehe, done that once or twice, and a lot of scrappers in general, as only Stone/ tanks and /Dark Scrappers have any real end drain res, and you just have to wait for the right point, u know the one, both fired of hasten at the begininng, bot using loadsa end fighting, your hasten starts to wink, and u know, HUSSAR, he's loosing 15 points of end here, lets make it more , then watch the toggles drop, and away you go.

Apart from that, do you honestly think a Stalker who's PvP'in in RV is expecting NOT to be seen really, and with EM, as I said You open up with TF (Total Focus), an ET (Energy Transfer), Placate(Especially if you've manged to disorient them by now) And Assassins Strike.

And if you have problems with spines scrappers thats your fault anyway.

    Cya on the next LRSF
  9. British Battler

    EA or SR?

    *COUGH*

Energy Aura can be great in pvp, mainly due to the auto hit end drain hehe, it's funny to see the enemy wondering why their toggles are droppin the same way as their end, then its TF/ET/Placate/AS, all over
  10. Why have it, it only provides a /inv brute with 35.1% smash/lethal res with 3 even Res SO's in it, so perfectly reasonable not to have it really
  11. Is thst your FotM Brute btw matey
  12. Yep I'm in could do with the badges for my badger, she hasn't got them yet, just list a date/time and i'll try to be their with a lvl 50 brute to help.

Evenings after 9pm are probably best for me, Global me @Battler or @Battler2
  13. British Battler

    A Brute for LRSF

Think the def from weave for brutes with 3 even SO's in it works out at around 5.85%, worth it for /inv or /ea as they have a def component to build it onto if they can fit it in builds, but for res brutes probably not all that worth it really
  14. British Battler

    A Brute for LRSF

Got 2 50 Brutes who have done the lrsf 5 times each,

An EM/EA, has no problems, uses less purps because of having around 30% Def to start with.

A Stone/Stone, Does real fine to, especially as you are usually with 4-6 Corr's usually 1-2 rads and at least one /kin in it to so all usual probs overcome.

Been on teams with all types of brutes, and all do well probably due to the corr support to be honest, so any will do.
  15. I've got Black Scorpion on my Stone/Stone Brute, and he seems to last quite well, might be something to do with taunt and mudpots keeping the aggro off him, but with 2Acc and 3Dmg he contributes a bit to fights. Shame about the recharge on him though, so much so I usually forget to summon him.
  16. I have both, EM/EA is 50, and with def you can fire off Aid Self generally with no problem. My Fire/Fire seems to have amazing survivability though which suprised me a lot, he's currently 35 and goin a storm.

Both solo exceptionally well, so it's up to you, I see you have gone for Fire/fire, and yes Firey Embrace does make a hell of a differance.
  17. Remember With Rage though it drops your DEF when it wears off, and EA is a DEF based set, so that would be 10 Seconds of no defences or attacks, possibly in the middle of a nasty mob.
  18. Dark Regen i would say 2Acc,2 End Reds and 2 Recharge, other people might differ.

For your travel power i would say Super Jump, as you have no Knockback Res, so would need to get acrobatics anyway, unless your a Roleplay toon, then get what you want

On number 3, i would say that a respec will help you to raise the funds, but you will find unless you have a way of funding your alt you wont be fully SO'd really till the mid 30's, or alternatively you can go perma debt and lvl slower getting those badges on the way, don't forget to sell enhancements at corresponding store for maximum inf gain.
  19. Welcome to the game mate, hope you have fun playing it.

When I first started I tried all the alts before I decided on which one I wanted to play, and my advice would be to go for a pink pom pom of doom, as it does loadsa damage, and energy aura if your doing a stalker.

Failing that, go off and do a brute to start with, as they are without doubt the easiest AT to master and learn a bit about the game first, as I found doing 2 of these first helped me learn about the game mechanics as they are more forgiving if you make a mistake than a Stalker.

I do have an EM/EA stalker now, and love him to bits, again mainly to PvE.

look forward to seeing you on, don't forget to join some of the channels on the servers, like the Badgers and events channels, and team lots, as this is one of the greatest aspects of this game.

Good luck and have loadsa fun, and send me a tell if you see me on and I'll happily team with you.
  20. I like EM/EA myself, got it 2 33 so far, and he can scrap real good, just looking forward to Overload, got it on a Brute, then I know I'll be able to hold my own.

Def is better than a brute, and with the right powerpools, ie Fitness,Medicine for aid self,Leaping(nice ickle def boost from CJ), and hasten, as well as been able to energy drain and if you choose it conserve power, it gives you a nice all round PvE alt to duo with, as you can scrap to, and have little end probs after lvl 28.

A dom is best to duo with to lock things down for you, but mm's and brutes can do the same by holding the aggro for you, but you'd really need to be with a /dark corr to have the same lvl off duobility(due to fearsome stare i think) or a /rad with choking cloud to have the same lvl of duobility.

All I can say on the subject, haven't tried any of the othe Stalker sets.

Good Luck, and HAVE FUN, I did with mine.
  21. I go in their occassionaly, but as I'm lvlin about four alts atm the only time I seem to come on with my 50's is to do LRSF atm mate, but I will try to get on their a few times in the week when I can.
  22. But as a solo baser I wanted to know when I could place items, so made a note of it, 100k for tp room, 5k for each beacon, 15k for the tporters, so knew when I reached this, and went on to do this, incidentally after the patch, and the costs had changed.
  23. Incidentally, is it me, or has anyone else noticed, the 4 square tp room went from 100k to 150k, and beacons went from 5k to 10k. I noticed this because I worked out how much i needed to save for it a while back, and when I came to get them came up short because of this
  24. British Battler

    Solo base'er

Yes, a solo SG is possible, as noted you have to have either 2 accounts, or a mate to help you set it up. I currently have 12 alts in my own Villan SG on Defiant, its taken aroung 9 months to do, but I have a Control Room with Main Computer and 3 Databases, A workshop with 2 salvage Racks, an Enhancement Table (No need for twinking anymore, my own high alts can buy any DO's/SO's my lower lvl alts can't afford now) and an Inspiration Collector, A power room with Generator, a Med Bay with Hospital teleporter and a teleport room with 2 teleporters to the 4 locations you can't get to from Pocket D. I'm not far off placing another teleporter room to Finish off direct Teleportation facilities, and Buy and Sell workbenches as needed.

Note I do have 2 Lvl 50's now, as well as a 33,32,29 etc below that, and have collected about 1.5 million prestige to do this. So it is possible, but does take time and effort. Your first alt really will be maximising Inf collecting to help your others stay in SG mode and getting prestige more.

    Hope this helps.
  25. Gratz Trix.

And soul, You should know, we've done the LRSF enough times
