Widows/Forts don't do very well in PvP. They're defense-based and don't get much elusivity, and they do very poor damage now.
Go with Bane or Huntsman. It won't be the best pick for PvP, but you WILL certainly be able to piss off stalkers by seeing right through their stealth. -
EA is a lot of fun and, with the new changes, is also very very good.
Also, grabbing burnout and Ageless for six minutes of Overload is absolutely hilarious. -
Energy Aura, Nin, SR and WP are all good choices.
I have a Spines/Elec stalker and that's pretty fun, but probably less survivable than the other four options there. -
Much as I like my dark blaster I have to agree with Necro. A good /Cold or /Therm of any AT will absolutely wreck a blaster - especially the /cold.
I haven't fought many /Poison corruptors yet, but the one I did find in RV I mostly broke even with. -
Blasters are pretty good for PvP. You'll probably want to go Fire/EM, Psi/EM or Dark/EM.
Dark/EM is my personal favorite: Power Boost plus Life Drain plus your -tohit makes you incredibly difficult to kill, and your crowd control blast does a hefty chunk of damage even when slotted with a hold set. -
Emperor Cole.
That perfectly coifed hair, that stern face... That misanthropic, disillusioned and bitter attitude...
Also, holy **** those shiny golden gloves. He's got -style-. -
Give Street Justice/EA a try. I've got a ~15 alt that does pretty well with that combo.

Dark/NRG/Ice dom looks good. All those pets and a power-boosted stun.
By the way: vampire* -
I never had the chance to meet her.
I'm sorry I didn't.
My condolences and sympathy to everyone who lost a friend. -
Quote:Seconding this. I posted it earlier in the thread, but Kyasubaru makes a much better case for it than I did.So I was thinking to myself about one particular issue I have with using a lot of skin-showing "Tights" pieces, and that's if you're wanting to use a skin type other than "smooth human". For instance if I wanted my character to have the Bioluminescent skin, or the Organic Armor skin, or Reptile skin, I'm not able to use things like the Tank Top, Excess Plus, or Witch tops, because the skin is baked into the texture as smooth.
So I was gonna suggest here(since this thread seems the appropriate place) that you could make tops like these as body-hugging "Chest Detail" pieces that go over top of the skin. That way you would still have the costume part, but you could pick your own skin beneath it (or use another Tights option as well.) We already have very tight, body-hugging Chest Detail parts such as the Roman armor and the Barbarian Corsets, so theoretically this is something that could be done. Ideally these pieces would be available in addition to the normal directly-on-Chest parts we have now. And if this is something that's possible, all 3 model types should be looked at (Female, Male, and Huge) as they all have some pieces that show some skin, like T-shirts and Tank tops and such.
Pleaseplease do this. Or, alternatively, move the "skin"-looking tight patterns to a separate category, "Skins". -
This please. I also wouldn't mind seeing a similar thing to what females have for "tights with skin" - tights patterns as actual tights on skin, not just "bodypaint" like we have now.
-
One thing I would really, REALLY like is for Bioluminescence and similar tights with skin patterns that actually represent -skin- to be moved to a different category (Like a "skin" category or something. I know, bizarre name, right?).
That would let me put tights over a Bioluminescent character's body without covering their entire torso aside from the forearms, and open up a lot more things one could do with a character whose concept dictates lizard/wolf/bioluminescent mutant thing skin. -
Quote:They have. There are several of the original masks that were in the game at launch, notably the numbered masks, that are no longer available.
When the CoH and CoV lists were comibined and re-ordered, those parts went away completely.
There are similar items available, but some were removed completely and never put back no matter how often it was pointed out.
I'm not even counting the Malaise pants that were removed since they weren't supposed to be there in the first place.
I see! Well, then.
*Takes foot out of mouth*
I only started playing after they combined CoH and CoV, so I don't know a lot about earlier days.
Still, my point stands. They haven't removed OLD textures after they've been improved; Excess, Hearts and... The other one are still around even though there are better, more textured versions available. -
This, please. Don't just replace them, add options. Although this seems like a bit of a needless worry; I don't think the devs have ever removed anything due to an update (think the "plus" versions of some tights with skin options).
-
While I love the modern take on costumes, i.e. the movie style of taking the classic outfit and making it 'reasonable', I feel like that's been touched on enough in CoH right now. I'd love to see more, but I think that the focus should turn towards Golden/Silver age costumes for the moment.
Maybe a Golden Age, then Silver Age, then Modern Age pack? (Maybe even a Liefeld pack with pouches and XTREEM MUSCLES skin patterns. :P)
I'm going to throw my lot in with the A and B options crowd. I love comic books and I want more of them in my comic books-based game. -
I'd also go with A and C. The Olympian and Defense already do a good job of showing a "modern tights" sort of thing, and we REALLY need Robin-style white eye Domino masks.
-
I usually neglect to slot my characters until they're level 50.
I tend to level in large teams, so my characters' weaknesses from under(read:no)slotting are covered up by buffs.
This is a horrible habit, but I just hate going through the tedium of creating and slotting IOs, so I avoid doing it until I'm at maximum level. -

Here's Stellar Revenant.
I wanted to go with a bit of an angelic look, since its concept and personality tend to drift towards the "immortal energy being from beyond the Local Group" side of things.
I think I'm going to put Stellar into the Celestial stuff once I get my hands on it.
(Also, yes, he has no face.) -
Quote:A bit tangential to the topic, but I'd like to point out that Statesman is NOT a mary-sue. He has character flaws and is certainly not a self-insert wish fulfillment tool of the writer.States is a Mary Sue-Superman (see #1), and pretty much well worth ignoring as a justification for AT behavior.
To the actual topic:
I could see tankers getting a slight damage buff. Still below Scrappers, Brutes and Stalkers, I think, but their damage has room to improve without being equal or better to the Melee damage ATs. I don't think that tankers need a gimmick or a filling bar to increase their damage; just a slight numeric increase across the board.
Second, tankers should have a higher aggro cap than other ATs. They should be the very best at melee control, maybe with that increased secondary effects idea for their attacks. -

The person who pulled this crap is an incredibly petty person and has the general mindset and emotional maturity of a middle schooler. They have a vendetta against the Cape for ridiculous reasons, and have spread lies about good friends of mine on their global channel.
I'm not an avid listener of the Cape and I don't interact with them much, but they don't deserve to be subjected to this sort of childish ********.
(I really hope the person I'm talking about reads this.) -
Aww, man. I got all excited about things, like... DS being useful and Wormhole having a wider radius.
;_; -
I'm probably going to reroll my Fire/SS tanker into a Fire/TW tanker. Probably better AoE capability plus a defense buff for a resist set? Yes please.
