Quote:Hide is the exception. All other stealth/invis powers will cancel out if you toggle on Stealth. :/Its only exclusive with powers that grant invis (Invisibility, Superios Invis), or powers that grant stealth (Hide, Shadowfall, arctic fog...). And is only exclusive if you are the caster of both powers. You can have your own Stealth along with other people shadowfall or even grant invis/group invis
EDIT: Ok, now im not sure if it stacks with Hide or is exclusive :S
Sad really, as I've had a few Dark Armor Scrappers I wanted to take Phase Shift for concept with, but I couldn't see myself taking Stealth and skipping the in set stealth power, and taking those extra two powers for it was a waste :/
This goes with EA, Cold Dom, Storm, basically every Primary or Secondary Set that comes with a stealth/invis power.
As least with Stalkers hide, while pointless in PvE, I can still stack it! -
Quote:I did complain about it in beta. I was basically told by lots of people (not all) "Toggle of the Mez Protection if you want to stealth" or "You're a Brute/Scrapper, you don't need to stealth"I wasn't aware that it was doing that on Scrappers. That's not cool and something that I know we complained about possibly having to do back in beta while testing.
Damnit. you're gonna make me get off my lazy @ss and update that issues list now.
Now if it's been fixed I'd like to know, but when I ran /EA I was taunting enemies with the aura. -
It did for my EA scrapper. Why I shelved it. Is a stealth really needed, or all that important? No, not really. But when I have a stealth, I don't want to have to detoggle my mez protection just to make it work as intended. :/
-
Secondary:
1) Fast Healing
2) Ninja Reflexes
3) Danger Sense
4) Temporal Mending
5) Indomitable Will
6) Quick Recovery
7) Temporary Invulnerability
8) Time's Juncture
9) Chrono Shift
(I'd even fit in a Self Rez if I could)
Primary:
If I can pair it with Staff Fighting or Dual Pistols (preferably with better ST damage output) I'd be set with either! -
Quote:Wasn't trying to be hostile. Was merely a quick reply. But I can see how it may be taken that way. Sorry!Maybe I'm just reading attitude that isn't there, but if there is, please bring down the hostility. I'm just pointing out how the effects appear to be intended to work. If they don't work that way, I would consider it a bug.
I say that because, well, what other reason would there be to have that tag exist if not to prevent the taunt and recharge effects from revealing you to enemies? Looking at how it functions, it's clear that that was the intended effect, so if that's not what's happening, then it's in need of fixing.

Quote:My problem with Ninjitsu is the clickie Mez Protection. This didn't bother me with SR, but with NIN, it bothers me.Having played several stalkers to 50, I have to say Ice Armor is hands down the most survivable secondary set as long as you are not fighting AVs with big psionic attack. Regular bosses with psionic is ok because you still have Maxhp and Chilling Embrace to debuff their damage and you can take them down pretty quick.
Ninjitsu is not even close. The thing I don't like about Ninjitsu and Dark Armor is their lack of knock back protection. I only want to put one -kb set. I do not want to run expensive toggle Acrobatics or put 2-3 more -kb sets. One -kb is not enough against certain attacks, and Pylon is one of them. Ugh!
Both Willpower and Energy Aura are decent. I would rank them as #2 on the list. Electricity Armor is also ok if you run tough/weave and good defensive set bonuses.
So far, Ice Armor with good recharge is hands down the best secondary I've tried.
If I want 20% recharge bonus, I'll choose either Energy Aura or Electricity Armor. I think Super Reflex is way too one-dimensional and it's not that good in Incarnate with that many auto damage.
Also, once softcapped, I've found the lack of KB protection to be less of a problem. Then putting in 1 or 2 KB Resist IOs tends to really fix all that, but not getting hit tends to keep one from being KBed.
My other problem with NIN, is it gives up a higher DDR for a self heal and some (imo) not worth it toys. Love the concept of it, and I think I'll end up enjoying the set much more on a Scrapper, but as it is now, for a Stalker, I prefere WP.
I actually find that a bit sad, as I would hope NIN would be the #1 choice for Stalkers, even more so if they plan to keep it Stalker exclusive.
Will they keep it exclusive? No idea. They may say NIN is Stalker's Shield. OR they may just proliferate it. *shrug* -
Wow, sounds like they're giving more reasons to be vigilante or rogue alignment.

Quote:I wouldn't call that classic at all.By the way, now that we've done the classic comicbook move of killing a major character, we now need the classic comicbook move of having a character come out

In fact, I'd call it something rather recent and still not that prevalent.

Quote:The end drain portion of Energy Drain isn't useless when you up that difficulty.Thing is, most of us aren't going to be sitting against a wall spamming Energy Drain until a bunch of +1 mobs lose all their endurance before attacking. You aren't playing a Controller. Your role is DPS. One Energy Drain is not enough to drain a +1 minion's endurance bar completely. All the minions should be dead by the time the next ED is up anyway.
The end drain portion of Energy Drain is useless as mentioned above. The click heal is not amazing. Reconstruction recharges in half the time and Healing Flames in a third. As mentioned before you will not see the full benefit of your +Rech outside of combat. And once more, the defense has holes in it.
Now, I'm not saying you've said it, but I find it odd that people will go on an on about +4/8 soloing, than use +1 level mobs to say the End Drain is useless.
Well, on those +4/8 enemies you'll find the end drain more helpful
Also, not every build has the AOE damage output to take out all the threats quickly.
EA has a Psi hole. You might consider this bad, untill you realize most sets do. Shield gets some defense in the way of positional defense, but no resists to it, and some psi attacks have no positional attachment.
EA is a well rouded set, that is easily made softcap, and comes with the added benefit of a self heal and end recovery.
It's DDR isn't great, most defense sets don't seem to be that great really. That seems to be the one thing that makes SR shine.
EA's (imo anyways) stealth is a joke however. because the mez protection toggle is also a taunt aura/enemy debuff aura.
So you have to toggle off the mez protection to use the stealth, which isn't 100% by itself to begin with (like all stealth toggles), but you now get left without mez protection.
And to the post in the beginning that said "You can take EA's stealth and a Stealth Proc and dance right in front of the enemies", well you can't with the mez protection toggled, and all those DA's can do the same thing.
A blaster with Concealment Pool: Stealth + Stealth IO can do it. Super Speed + Stealth IO can do it.
Something else that seems to be forgetten, EA can easily put in some +Psi Resist IOs into it's resist shields. Just with the EA powers alone, that's at least 9% Psi Resist, pick up Tough/Weave and that's 12%.
EA does have a real weakness in Toxic damage, but that's a pretty common hole as well. -
Quote:Did I not say "generally better"?I have thought of at least four counterexamples to that: Reservoir Dogs, The Blues Brothers, The Matrix and the first MIB. Granted they aren't superhero movies but at least the last is based on a comic book and the last three definitely have a superhero like feel to them. People fighting in business suits can be quite cool!
I did!
There are of course exceptions. Though I'm not sure I'd say Blues Brothers has a superhero feel to it myself. -
Quote:Now see. Look at that. Resident Evil movies and Underworld make the grade according to that test. When I google "Disney princesses feminist critique" I get 85,700 results, which means it does get some flak.
Is your argument that women can't enjoy sexist media? If I couldn't enjoy sexist media, there would be precious little media for me to enjoy at all. So the sexism is, as the comic strip linked earlier said, background radiation. It's everywhere.
One thing about comic books versus movies as well is the difference between going to a movie theater and to a comic book shop. The latter is much more likely to present a hostile environment to women (at least in my experience, and I've been buying stuff at comic shops since the 1970s). I've never run into the same degree of condescension or hostility in movie theaters no matter which movie I am there to watch as I have in comic book shops. The latter I dealt with by finding shops that didn't have that environment.
The article oversimplifies several points, and I wouldn't use it as a central critique of comic book media.
As far as film goes, this site is interesting:

With the changes coming in i22, taking into account IOs, I'm guessing WP with the ability to get over 2k HP, softcapped defenses, a self heal, and resists.
I love Ninjitsu, but my softcapped Ninjitsu didn't seem all that when it's defense got shredded :/ I'm not expecting SR levels of DDR, but it felt like it really lacked in the DDR. -
Quote:Also I think people forget, Sony doesn't want to lose the Spidey license, so having the reboots happen like this is probably going to be par for the course. That was Empire, not Return, and in frustration blew the 'secret' on some morning talk show the week the movie opened.
They went roughly 2 or 3 years between Bond films, even when they brought in a new Bond. So 5 years from when Spidey 3 being released isn't too short a time to run with a new Spidey, IMO. Normally im wary of trailers, but this one does what the first one didn't, sell the movie. Its enough to make me interested in seeing the movie, and with any luck, it'll at least wipe the stain of S3 from my brain. -
Quote:Is three years that big of a difference? You know that the actor who played Darth Vader was not told what was happening and was given a completely different script than what you see n screen right?
As far as the trailer... looks better, but the original is going to haunt it in my book along with the fact it is a reboot so close to the release of the previous spidey trilogy and I'm going to say that I'm still not looking forward to it... There are still some glaring problems that one can pick up in the trailer and it feels a bit too much like Batman in some places... so while it's a massive step forward it also isn't a must see movie from just that.
5 years between Spidey reboots. 8 years between Batman reboots. -
Quote:I didn't say comics were for little kids. Just that many people think they are.First, Princess Jasmine is not dressed for combat or warfare. If she were she'd be dressed like any of the women here--basically like a Turkish janissary or an Egyptian mamluk. Instead Jasmine is dressed for lounging around in the chambers of purdah or something similar. One could question that entire movie in terms accurate portrayal of female nobility in Arab kingdoms. So I discount that example.
But never mind, the kids, including all the girls, love it.
And yet here we all are blathering about it. What does that say about us? It's notable that you cite the whole Starfire debacle. That's a prime example of the problem. The Starfire embarrassment also points out that superhero comics really aren't just for young children anymore--at least that's pretty clear how they're being marketed now.
Anyway, I know this is something that will never going to be solved here. Personally I think there is a problem and I'm a little tired of the apologists who say there isn't.
Myself, I don't find a problem with comics outfits, or the figures (generally speaking, I don't claim to like all art styles), as what some people are asking for is not generally visually appeal or doesn't fall into the realm of rulle of cool.
Heroes/Villains fighting it out in color spandex is generally better than everyone in a business suit.

Quote:They've already said no to the robes/gowns. They can't do it, and keep the legs from clipping through.Hey to the devs and the community, I just wanna throw this out there.
I would love to see Polearm weapons such as scythes, halberds, etc, either as models added under an existing power set, or a new powerset.
Also I would love to see added flowing robes/gowns.
I am talking ankle length on both, when I say robe I mean like a stereotypical mage style robe.
Last but not least, could we add claws under the claw weapon costume pieces that look like claws coming from the fingertips of a char? right now they all kinda look like various "wolverine" nockoffs. -
