Quote:...never saw the problem with what they did. It makes sense. They didnt want you blowing up the mines. There you go.yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. This is like the change to Trapdoor. Bug fix? Exploit fix? We can't tell without knowing the Devs' *INTENT*. We don't know if they consider it a bug fix or it was done purely in reaction to players finding a strategy that didn't occur to them.
All we know is, from our point of view, a change was made that screws us.
Makes getting the badge a little tougher, well, that's the point of the badge
If you're not going after the badge, then it's not really a problem. -
It could jsut be something dealing specifically with i20 on test, and not any change that's coming.
After all, i20 needed a signed NDA to get into it. -
Quote:Well, you seem to have the Tanker off the list (I could be wrong).Hey all. I've got a hankering for a KM/FA character, and I'd like to hear some arguments as to the pros and cons of running that combo on Tankers, Scrappers, and Brutes. As best I can ascertain, general consensus is:
Tanker Pro: Most survivability; Tanker Con: less damage (...duh)
Scrapper Pro: More benefit from Concentrated Strike Scrapper Con: least survivability
Brute Pro: More benefit from Fiery Embrace; Brute Con: less benefit from Concentrated Strike
Obviously, that's just a quick and dirty rundown. I tend to favor AoEs over STs, so I'm leaning Brute, but if I'm overlooking anything, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
Brute does have the advantage of 90% Fire Resist, and Fire Armor has the advantage of more benefit from Fiery Embrace, and if I recall right, I think they get a stronger Blazing Aura, due to Fury and BA not critting on secondaries damage aura. -
I have the same problem.
It's not that concepts are hard to come up with. It's getting a concept I want to stick with.
In fact, outside of my main (who's been rerolled into many different powers sets, as I try to find a combo I enjoy), every concept I come up with, I just don't care to keep RPing.
Had a few close ones, but something happens which kills me wanting to do anything with it. A player leaves, to many times OOC knowledge is used.
My suggestion, just keep trying
What might work for you, is what worked for my main...start with a case of amnesia, and build it up from there and don't be afraid of little retcons.

Quote:^^This is how I got it.A strategy I was involved with was to go into the warehouse and ignore the glowies and defeating all the ambushes. Then everyone group up near the AV spawn point drop their pets, nukes and the leader when around clicked all the glowies. The AV spawned after all the glowies were clicked right among all the buffed pets. He barely got his speech out before he was down.
So our answer to the minelayers was overwhelming firepower right from the start. -
My first 50, a claws/regen scrapper. I had been playing for 2 1/2 years before I finally got a 50, but it didn't take me 2 1/2 years to get that claws/regen to 50, but I can't recall exactly how long it took me to get from 1 - 50 on that one.
My next 50, a katana/regen, went much faster.
I've only AE farmed 1 toon to 50 to see how fast I could do it. 10 Hours.
I've used AE farms to finish off a few levels on a few toons, but they were ones just sitting around at 44-46 and I had no intention of playing them anymore, but didnt want to delete them either. Soooo...50 and then move them
My fastest, with no farming at all, was less than 5 days time. Don't know the actual hours, and I had sleep, alting, RPing, helping others get XP with my 50 in there. That was my Dual Pistol/Mental Blaster. Dual Pistol started when released to the GR Pre-Purchasers, and that hit a few days before a double XP weekened.
My next best was in the 10 day range, and it was my Ill/Rad Troller. Once I hit level 35, it was ITF (with a few other TFs thrown in) almost exclusively. Being /RAD it really wasn't hard to get ITF team invites (ITF was new, and everyone wanted a RAD).
My current project is taking me awhile though. But, then I'm also level pacted with someone who isn't playing theirs (I knew they wouldnt). Penance for that 10 hour 50? Naaa. I just wanted to do it.

Quote:But...but...I'd rather have Ninjitsu over EA!I bet Energy Aura will be ported before /Nin. Less work involved .... and I would rather have an EA scrapper than a Nin scrapper :P
Not because I think EA is bad, but because it'll fit my concept better! And *glare* I want MY concept.

Hmmm...got to thinking...Reed dies. Doom takes his place as resident genius! Gets with Sue! Loses the scars, starts to grey at the temples. Loses his memory and thinks he's Reed. the they retcon it never happened as Doom attacks!

Will the removal of one of the team, does the Fantastic Four become the Threesome?
Hmmm. I'm stuck thinking it'll be Johnny or Ben. Though the removal of the fire throwing hero, lets not figure out how he's not burning people alive, could be what they're doing.
But Marcian's theory seems like it might be the way for them to go. -
Quote:I thought a power didn't start recharging untill after it animated.Anyone got any ideas?

Does an attack recharge immediately after it is clicked, or after the animation? Would I be doing Power Slice > Nimble Slash > Sweeping Strike > Nimble Slash > Power Slice > Repeat? Or could I just do Attack Vitals ad nauseum?
Somehow I think I've got this all wrong.
However, I just don't know the best DPS string for Stalker Dual Blades.
Empower requires the use of Assassin Strike.
Neither Empower or Attack Vitals uses Alabating Strike or Sweeping Strike. -
Quote:Well, someone revived it, so I thought I'd chime in.Cripes. You guys decided to revive a really old one there.

I still think Hide should be switched out for Quick Recovery. I think there should be at least one Positional Defense set that has a form of Endurance Recovery without a crash built into the power. Caltrops could be replaced with, well, maybe a Stealth power.

I don't really think it needs to have an Endurance Recovery power put into it. With my suggestion, I was trying to keep it close to the original without making Stalkers looking at it and going "That's so much better!"
No Caltrops, and invisibility replaced with a stealth power and a passive Resist power, that shouldn't be to missed by the "I'm just a stalker" players. -
Ninja Reflexes
Hardened Body (Passive: +7.5% S/L/T Resist)
Danger Sense
Kuji-In Rin
Kuji-In Sha
Kuji-In Kami (Toggle: +3.75% Defense & Stealth)
Smoke Flash
Blinding Powder
Kuji-In Retsu
There you go!
Ninjitsu for Scrappers!

Quote:This.According to mids, the First level 50 IO in Stamina adds .19 end per second while Performance shifter will add, on average, .20 end per second.
Performance Shifter Proc on average gives better return, but that's the thing. On average over a long period of time.
Though I thought it was .18 end per second, not .19 end per second. Either way, it's a constant. -
Any one know the accurate damage for this at (from Mu Mastery) or is MIDS correct on this one?

Then they realized, you know for people who work out a lot, they seem out of shape?

Quote:What's the problem with Megatron being a tanker truck?Bay, honestly...you suck.
Gimme that budget, some half decent actors, people like our own Ominous Voice and suchnot to score the thing...we'd have a movie worthy of being called Transformers.
Meh...will wait to see how #3 turns out. But im keeping expectations low.
He's been a gun, a tank, a dinosaur, a dragon, a jet, and I may be missing other things (and a cannon, if you count him being turned in Galvatron).
Or is it the tarp turning into a cloak? I'd just rule that as a rule of cool and move on.

Quote:No. They want flatter. More teenaged chest shape is subjective. Haven't you been reading the thread?Let me just say that if there are people who are serious about asking for females with a more teenaged chest shape, then what you need to be asking Noble Savage/Sexy Jay for is a new UPPER BODY MODEL. Something similar to the Armored top.

Quote:They can in ParagonPeople can choose what types of clothes they wear - but they can't choose how tall or short they are, or what color their eyes are, or what shape their nose is, or what size their breasts are, or how broad their shoulders are, or what texture their skin is, and so on.
-
Quote:And that can be varied by location! You said they don't exist. Now you're being all snotty with "Well, fine, they're a tiny outlier". That's not really the case either. While they're not the majority, they're also not the rare oddity that you're suggesting. Face the fact that some women do have such breast sizes and get the hell over it already. No one's saying that to argue against the option for smaller sizes. Just to point out that your perceptional bias is skewing your...er, figures. >.> It's not like it's a slight against you to say that there are a reasonable amount of women with naturally large breasts out there.
This might explain your perceptional bias. Your peers are high school students either going through or barely out of puberty...
All we need to know is...GG likes her chest just the way it is! -
Quote:But that's the point. There are outliers. So it exists. Therefore seeing it in CoH is nothing out of the normal.Well, I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of replies, but I'm not so pleasantly surprised by the amount of people telling me that they know people with big boobs.
Ok, then. Those who know endowed females. Tally up everyone you know withOUT boobies the size of trucks, then compare it to the person you know.
Satisfied? Saying you know an outlier doesn't make it less of an outlier. Ready for an actual update?
Good.
Ok, sorry, again, but bringing my personal bias into this post was a choice I made myself. And yes, I have small boobs. But that has nothing to do with why I feel uncomfortable with the amount of cleavage that can be displayed. I know, I know, I KNOW this game is based off of comic books, but there are plenty of people in comic books that aren't so endowed. I just wanted more... manly not-males. A tomboy, or even just a person with a female head but a male body. I wanted an unstoppable badass, not a person unreasonably thin. And I'm all right with the changes not happening, as long as it was possible to create such effects without cookie cutter ways. And a recent poster, I forget your name, yes, that is a great female body. But, the pose is not available in the creator, and the shoulders seem too small. Not that I'm critiquing your costume, I think it's awesome, but I just... want more, I guess.
Thanks for the support, guys! And a happy holidays!!!
Look at it this way. The majority of people in the CoH universe aren't superheroes/villains, but Paragon has so many it might seem it's normal, because they all gathered there.
As for you wanting to create a "not unreasonably thin badass" then adjust the physique and waist slider.

While I haven't gotten gold, I have gotten better times by zooming out on the view.

Quote:Widening the shoulders also helps. Wider shoulders tend to equal a little smaller looking chest.Realism in bodyshapes? In a Super Hero style game? Have you looked at the "real" bodyshapes in comic books at all? there are many many unrealistic bodyshapes in comics from rotund to twigish to super muscular and beyond.
On back pain. I seriously doubt that any of these super fit super heroes are going to have poor back muscles and then there are the common cases of the super strenght types like Power Girl or She Hulk. You think someone who can lift a freight train is going to have a problem with 10 lb boobs?
I have no problem with you wanting a more tomboyish look for the females, though I've always felt that sliding the slider to minium did a pretty good job of that, that and thickening the waist a tad. -
Quote:As has been explained to you, you're wrong here.Namely, the abilities to make your cleavage larger then your head. Real girls, in real life, don't have breasts that big. And that bothers me a lot. I'll admit I'm sensitive to that stuff, I am not as.. endowed... as others, but still! I imagine that feature was developed by males, for males. All the females I know set their cleavage at a minimum, because thats an actual size.
1) Real women can and have had large breasts.
2) (and this is the one that really makes me laugh) Not all female players put that slider all the way to the left. Another little silly myth I've seen people say, is females only make female toons.
I know one female player who only makes male characters.
3) This complaint really seems to be focused on your own insecurities, more than anything else.
I've only seen this be a problem on the shirt option, where it moves the decal to the just below the shoulder.Quote:Another thing: Why can't girls have chest icons as big as boys? They are almost impossible to see, and really effect some 3D elements. I'd prefer it if they were the same size. Or, at least, large enough to see.
AGREED! Would love even heavier armored female options. I think it has to do with clipping myself, though. I know when I use the Tri-Spiked should option (think that's the right name), I get clippingQuote:And yet another thing: The shoulder items are tiny compared to males. What if I want a heavily armored girl, with huge, thick armor and a normal, unarmored head?
I wish "Styled" didn't look so...so...so...blocky seems like the wrong word, but looks terrible from behind.Quote:And yet ANOTHER thing: Why do all the female hairstyles look somewhat the same? Can we please get one that doesn't look like it's being held up by over a ton of hairspray? Can't we get spikey, short hair that doesn't click into our details? And why is the first hair "Medium?" It is the ugliest hairstyle I've seen, ever, and it's the first thing that shows up when I reset my costume.
I think the hair spray look is just something to do with the animations myself. So doesn't bother me as much. However, I still only care for a few of the hairstyles.

What you need to do, is remember this is a game. Based off a subject which tends to go towards the...I hate saying unrealistic as it's not so much unrealistic as not very likely.
Everything that's been said in this thread, I've seen counters for. Friend I have, she was extremely well endowed. Enough to make feel those issues. She suffered from those back issues, untill she joined the military and the physical fitness she underwent got rid of all her back pain.
Of course that back pain returned when she left the military and stopped the excersizing.
My point on that...you're playing superheroes/villains. Usually this entails A LOT of physical fitness. For people saying "realism" they always seem to forget this part of it. You're not playing someone who sits around and does nothing (unless you RP it that way) all day.
These aren't people (male or female) who work the treadmill for 30mins a day, every other day.
