The ability of a movie to make a profit doesn't really affect whether or not I think they are any good or not. There have been profitable movies that I liked and ones I didn't like. This happened to be one that I thought could have been better. *shrugs*
I think the line gets pretty blurred once you change actors/directors, place the main character in a new storyline and wait 8+ years since the last one. You may be right that this will technically be a "sequel", but let's not stretch the definition of that word too much.
To me, that sounds like sequal in the vein of Batman 3 & 4.
As for my comment on the movie making a profit and people hating it. That was more of remark that on the internet, you can find more people who hate something, than when I can go up to people and they'll say that like it.
Perfect example is Transformers. Hear it all the time on the internet. Talk to friends, meet new people, they enjoyed it. -
Hmmm...I think even after getting my favorite character to as far as I can get her, I'm still trying to get her were I want her! So, I don't think I've ever hit the destination to know!
She's been rerolled, gone back to past builds...with me still trying to find that one set that says "Hell yeah, I love this build!" and that's after around 30 runs to 50, 8-10 of them being the same concept put into new ATs/powersets.
I'm sure I'm just waiting for certain powersets to be ported OR certain EPIC ATs to be made.

Yes.. our community is smaller. But as stated already it has more structure. We are trying as hard as we can do actually make it a universe with the appropriate crossovers where we can.

Do you think that structure will stick if it gets a massive influx of new RPers, which is likely the reason virtue RP is not as structured? -

Also seeing as how the metas do shrug of the flamethrowers why are they still using them?
Longbow is completely irresponsible, but I suppose they get that from Ms. Liberty, afterall she never bothered to clean up that oil spill she caused in Port Oakes, so why should her troops do anything responsible?

Why are the fire heroes even bothering to take on Infernal? He tends to laugh at them too. Or fire villains going after Infernal.

I never totally disliked the movie, but there was always something about it that never quite made it as cool as it might have been. It was like it tried really hard to be a first class movie but never managed to focus itself well enough to reach past being a second class affair. If anything I'm almost upset more that it somehow managed to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" when there was no solid reason that should have ever happened.
Oh well, maybe a reboot will fix that problem. -

Kheldians are supposed to be the joining of two minds and bodies, right? So why not give Khelds enough Mag Mez protection to keep going through one mez. Mag 3 protection would allow them to roll through one Mez for the most part, but a second of the same type from any source would mez them. You could even explain it as one mind being shut down, but the other one can take over.
If you still wanted to make it a hassle, spread them out among the shields. The S/L Shield gets stuns, the E/NE shield gets holds, and the F/C shield gets sleeps. Leave the KB and Immob holes, because if you want to, you can cover those.
Do that, turn the KB into KD on Peacebringer melee attacks, lessen the crash a bit on Light Form, let us take the other locked out travel pool (why can't Warshades fly, again?), and tweak the animations and pets a bit, and they'd be a great AT, I think. Fixing the inherent to do something while solo would be fantastic, too. Maybe make it so that when solo, you have better regen and recovery.
Khelds and the VEATs were designed, IMO, as teaming ATs. However, while the VEATs enhance a team, Khelds seem more dependent on the team. I think that's what gets a decent amount of people upset with them. They don't seem to be able to reach their potential unless they're on a team (MFWarshades aside). -

Nitpick: I know her body is Japanese due to a ridiculous retcon to explain why Jim Lee started drawing her that way, but Psylocke is British. She's the sister of Captain Britain, and was, in fact, Captain Britain herself for a time. She's not a good example of a Japanese national superhero.
The Sunfire example is good, though.
I thought that was just part of her story, not a retcon per se.
And yeah, I know she's British, I but she's in a japanese body, so I was just using her as an example. -

Some of the problem I see with doing all this, is people already have a hard time playing the games with OMG AWESOME graphics, that people seem to keep requesting.
When personally, I like the graphic style we have in CoH. Those other Superhero games...meh...feels more comic booky in CoH. -

Now could be froma non-RP perspective, but then I think, the costumes look rather bland (and when I say that, I'm not saying mine are all that). -

Cause if it's Science,Mutant or Magic having direct control over what your fire burns is quite plausible.
For Natural and Tech it's slightly harder but somewhat doable.
For Longbow Flamethrowers there is no control over what the fire does evident only where it goes.
You're putting real world laws, into a world with super meta types. Even the natural supers are taking the hits and keep on going. -

Unless they're equivalent, you'll get complaints. And if they are equivalent, then why tie them to origin?

It'd be too easy to roll up a toon that sails through the 1-40 game but then struggles, only to switch to another toon that sails through endgame, thus bypassing the struggle early on.
You'd have people rolling up Blasters and Scrappers just to blaze to 32 and then switch to a Controller already with Pets...
But seriously. If you reached 50 in such an amazingly fast rate, just roll another one. If your that attached to the concept/story it's easy enough to imagine he's your praetorian version that shares the same outlook, only with slightly varied powers, etc etc...
Just reroll! And give the same concept/backstory to the new character. Either say they've always been the way they are, or say some change happened.
Not that I'm against the idea, could be a one time high level Trial or TF, that just allows you to respec one of the powersets (not AT and powersets), but I understand why they don't allow it. -

My 9 yr. old son (who's had an account for over a year, and plays quite well) and I were just kicked off an ITF at the very end, by some snarky 16 yr old moron. They accused my son of not helping, despite the fact that he died many times fighting mobs and was having the same bad lag issues another person on the team was having. At one point, he was jumping up and down in an attempt to get his toon to respond. On his screen, nothing was moving. She used that as her reason to insult him. Apparently, it was okay for her friend to skip 30 minutes of the TF and come back and claim the reward, but not okay for my son to have lag issues. I should have told her that my son was 9, but it was okay for her not to tell us or the rest of the team that he friend was going to disappear for 30 minutes.
She harassed my son in broadcast, called him autistic, and defended keeping her leech friend on the team.
After three years of playing, I am just about through with City of Heroes. The griefing is just awful. My son didn't deserve the crap he got today, and neither of us deserved to be thrown off the team just before receiving the reward. The whole wasted 90 minutes has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
Do I expect anything to be done about this? Nope. But I need to vent, and this is as good a place as any.
Though on thebright side you got the xp or shards that comes along with doing the rest of the TF up to that point.
My suggestions, keep an eye on that global and never team with them again. -

While I wouldn't likely grab any other travel power on a Kheldian, I'm for the removal of that restriction.
Still think the Human form shields should have mez protection tagged onto them.
Don't see why PBs need KB protection just because they have KB effects. Even Superman has been knocked back before. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. -

I've wondered... with the Japanese workers currently doing their best in the nuclear power plants... when would it be okay to pay tribute to them by converting their heroism into the realm of fantasy?
I, personally, don't think these things are really time-sensitive, but I understand that different people have different feelings and all.
