I honestly didnt care for the cliff hanger. Not that the episode wasnt good, it was, and i enjoyed it alot, but i think if they wanted to cliff hang it the better spot would have been right when the merc showed up at montgomery's house. And then having the Capt call the girl to say to meet him at the hanger.

As everyone said they are not gonna kill her off, so really no cliff hanger to having her bleeding at the end of the show IMO. Now if you had dropped that bomb about the captian, had him fight about setting her up like they did, and then skipped that part where he mails the files and hides a 2 shooter, but show him call her to say to meet him that would leave a cliff hanger IMO.
Well, he might not want to put them through it, but they could be at risk still if they he was really alive.

But your right, you know she's not going to die. So the real cliffhanger is, did she hear Castle say I love you?
  2. Just a thought (as I don't know the casting news) but what if the funeral was a setup to lure out the mystery bad?

The captain got off the last shot, and the ending scene with him left room for him to still be alive and easily have us believe he died.

The game's mechanics tend to intrude rather than facilitate.

I happen to think a lot of the game's mechanics just aren't suited to to concept of super heroes period. The Phalanx in the novels and comics aren't what they are in game. When the game's flagship characters can't even be done justice by the game itself, that should be a red flag.

One can argue all day if that's a problem or not. I'm obviously of the opinion that mechanics should bend to the genre and not vice-versa. Don't make a soccer/football MMO and decide that it would be 'unbalanced' if the goalie and only the goalie can touch the ball with his hands so he lacks that ability.

Rather than being some kind of helpful construct assisting players in creating viable characters, the system has always been a straightjacket to me, one that constantly screams "%&@# your concept!".

    .
It does! I've been waiting for Dual Pistols/Defense for so long!

Hey, I still use the term toon and RP. Pretty much for the reason you stated. Just quicker to type.

I think some people here just get uptight about it.

    You say this.

Furthermore, why do you need to keep the entire team Clear Minded at all times? If the team is at all decent, a lot of that mez should be getting mitigated just by the existence of other people. Tanks can direct the mez to them, so can some scrappers and most brutes. Controllers can mez the mezzer first, some defenders can debuff them to the point they are helpless, blasters can kill them (and can STILL kill them even while mezzed).
    then you say this.

I've never needed an empath to stack clear mind on a tanker in a STF.

    Quote:
My point being is: If your Clear Mind is the ONLY means of mez mitigation on the team, well, your team is doing something very wrong.
If it were turned into a PBAoE, you would have to make people gather, it's recharge woud be increased accordingly, and so would its endurance consumption. It would also force you to jump all over the place trying to remove mez from people not standing right next to you. As it currently is, you can unmez a teammate who is 60 feet away from you without moving at all.

Your suggestion would probably quickly make Clear Mind a frequently skipped power in Empathy if it is implemented. [/quote]

Not at all. If it was a PBAOE, the user would find themselves with Mez Protection!

I know others dont do it, but when I'm on my RAD, I never say "GATHER" I jump into the biggest group of players and just hit AM.
  7. Eh, I just tell people post count doesn't matter.

I figured high post count just means we don't have lives!

    o.O

They made it so the EU players can play with even more players.

Obviously someone was going to lose their global handle, since there was bound to be some copies between the servers, but I have to ask, how many EU players really lost their global handle?

After that the question becomes, what else could they do? Go through them individually and flip a coin, after they make sure it's an active or inactive account?

Well, I think some of that has to do with some of the stuff that made Looney Tunes great, they just wouldn't allow anymore

Flintstones wouldn't have this problem. Not that this means it would be great.

In that case, I'd still say Statesman would look at that situation and get through it pretty easily on his own.

The enemies would win, likely by just out numbering States. Take him down? No. Keep him possibly distracted/busy enough to have the main goal achieved while a few of the main baddies got taken down? More likely.

Critical Mass from what I know, just isn't in Statesman's league.

Alot of this can go with any of the Freedom Phalanx, story wise.

Maybe the speedster, Synapse could take them down fast enough, but he may not have the actual power to take down some of the stronger enemies.

"I'm fully human...so totally natural real world human" doesn't work in CoH because real world humans don't survive getting shot or falling off buildings.

Even the natural humans in coH are a bit superhuman.

Are you ignoring healing powers, or asking people not to use them on you? Do you use inspirations? What about being resurrected while inside a mission? How do you explain regeneration rate?
I think it would be based solely on the concept of one's character.

That said, as an RPer on Virtue, I know a lot of player ignore the whole "I can heal others" in RP.

They want their "I'm injured" RP.

Which, works in comics, but fails in CoH as almost half the characters out there can heal others.

By the OP's post, I'd say it just didn't make sense to them. That said, I think they're forgetting something. Time in CoH also goes by faster. Standing around for a minute in the city is equivalent to standing around for like an hour.

What was it...CoH time is like 1 hour for every one of our minutes?

Wasn't that with something like Tony Stark skin being brain cells or something?

I thought Thor's costume had a look of the UU about it in the movie.

Also, QS>BB>SB is a repeatable chain as well and nets something like 188 DPS on its own with Power Siphon, everything else just goes up from there when you start sticking CS in and filling the space in between.
Is that suppossed to be QS>BB>SB>BB>CS? Because QS at the beginning and end of the chain means wait time.

I don't agree with those who say that they can't be gods because they are not omnipotent. Few gods were/ are.

As for the race issue... I rather liked Heimdall, althought I agree that I found it odd to cast a black man as a Norse deity. *shrug*

I just wonder what the reaction might be if they cast Angelina Jolie as Mbaba Mwana Waresa...
Well they acknowledged that they were responsible for the Norse God legends. And they were in fact the ones worshipped as Gods before.
  19. Eh, I always saw the name of the set to be nothing more than that. The name of the set.

It's description, nothing more than added flavor text.

One could just as easily play WP as an INV type.

The real difference is just in the numbers. How you let it play out in concept is a different thing.

    You fail with your examples.

Nothing in the Last Airbender cartoon ever said he WASNT white. In fact, they're in a totally different world than ours.

He was just a rather pale (some might say white) looking bald kid.

The fact that people think he's asain is only their perception. Looks at the link to Aang none of those pictures make me think "Yup, he's asain" Not even his voice/accent made me think Asain.

Dragonball Evolution. Same thing. Do they even mention race in DBZ? I don't recall them doing as such.

As for Akira, I thought they already said they were taking the premise of the movie and putting it in a new setting. It's not even in Tokyo. I wouldn't be suprised if they don't even use the same names of the lead characters from the anime.

MCD on the other hand was a good choice for the King Pin. Color of his skin aside, there's just not many actors who could pull of the role. MCD has the build to look muscled while still looking like he has some fat to him and manage to act decently.

As for Thor. Eh, the movie says they're not norse at all, so their race is of little concern.

And to go along with what Durakken commented about...since he seemed so off...since when did we know any religious figures actual look?

I don't recall seeing any photos of Jesus or Norse Gods to say "Hey, they'd really look like this" All we have are paintings, which all are at the artists choice.

I built my Pistols Epic around the Mace Mastery Patron pool, actually, which constitutes three attacks, a utility power and a control power.
    Not at all.

First, Hail of Bullets doesn't have to have nuke level damage.

Second, why keep it the same as everything else? I'd rather see more variety in the sets. Why not have a Dual Pistol Epic be all about adding range damage!

Not because I'd get the badge, because I wouldn't. But because it would upset all those badgers who didn't lose their global name!

  25. Level 50? I'd say they're level 52-54 AVs.

That said, Statesman can probably handle a lot of that.

He's the big tough hero of Primal Earth.

Team fights are about the big events...whether it be massive amounts of baddies or one big baddie.

Unless the team is just...well...not powerful at all.
