Quote:Well, if I recall...Well good... because there have been lots of things "working as intended" that we got changed.
Jayboh, the primary reason that I'm skipping FB is that it ain't focus. I'm finding it more like skipping hurl.
Focus: Acast: 1.32 Dam: 86.96 DPS: 65.88
FB: Acast: 2.244 Dam: 102.6 DPS: 45.72
Even QuickStrike has a better DPS than FB and it comes coupled with a damage debuff even without Siphon running. (Or so the power description states.)
Granted, this is all going off of Mids and memory, so things may be different in reality and I may very well end up wanting FB as a mule for a purple set, but it doesn't look like it's going to part of my attack chain in the late game.
As for the DDR in Grant Cover, we'll see. While I probably should be, I'm not really looking at SD like I do SR.
But this it what long breaks do to my brain. After I dive back into the numbers I may very well be tossing out all the assumptions I have now.
CS>SB>QS>BB>SB is the best DPS chain for 134.98 DPS (with just 96.52% enhancement in all attaks no procs).
CS>SB>FB>BB>SB is 129.64 DPS with the same enhancement as the first but makes the time requirements a bit easier to obtain, as you require less +RCH.
That said, CS>SB>BB>QS>SB>BB is 132.98 DPS, so that can help with the +RCH requirements, while doing a bit more DPS than the one above using FB.
CS>SB>BB>FB>SB>BB is 128.51 DPS.
FB seems to surpass QS if QS doesn't have a Damage Proc in it, while FB has the purple proc in it.
FB and QS tie if QS has the Mako Proc (or equivalent, as Touch of the Death Proc has less of a chance to activate) and FB has the Purple Proc and another Proc (like Explosive Strike) in it.
So, I wouldn't say it's cut and dry on which way to go with it. -
Quote:Nope. They replaced Caltrops with Physical Perfection, for Stalkers.This. Thisthisthisthisthis. Theeeeeeeeeeeees.
Can't Ninjitsu Stalkers get Caltrops twice now that they can access Scrapper APPs?
Stalkers also get Superior Conditioning instead of Conserve Power for Body Mastery, and I'd love to have that option on my Scrappers over Conserve Power. -
Quote:Just curious Sam, but why not just use...It would be so nice if you could write out the full attack names for powers since not all of us are familiar with their abbreviations.
My personal choice for a Dual Blades Scrapper's attack chain has always been the following:
Empower -> Sweep -> Attack Vitals -> Power Slice -> Repeat
At least, that's my choice without any recharge slotting. The linchpin to a lot of Dual Blades combos is Ablating Strike, so you need to space your combos such that it will have recharged. If you start with an Empower combo, the Empower buff will last long enough to Empower the Sweep combo for some extra damage. By the time you're back to doing an Attack Vitals combo, Empower will have expired, but Ablating Strike should have recharged. The Power Slice in there is just to space things out so Ablating Stike has time to recharge before the next Empower combo, as Power Slice is only use in Sweep and it recharges fast enough to be available again in time.
Blinding Feint > Attack Vitals > Sweep > Repeat
I don't recall needing any +Recharge bonuses for that (admittedly it's been awhile since I used this attack string), allows you to skip Nimble Slash for another power, and I'm pretty sure it comes out better on over all damage.
Of course, if you just like to use the Empower Combo or like to use all the attacks or what have you, that's a different story, but could save some room on your build. -
Mind posting a data chunk of your build? Clicking the link doesn't work for me.
-
Quote:That's just it, you really don't have the option to even use the combo's much on Stalkers.Yeah... Typhoon would be nice to have. I'm fond of that one, too, and do miss it sometimes.
Having a bucket-load of Recharge helps some with the combos, since Placate, BU and Assassin's will be available more often... but if you're playing DB with an eye towards using combos as often as you possibly can in every fight, a Scrap's definitely the way to go. They've got stalkers beaten pretty soundly there.
That said, how big a deal that is depends on how you want to play. My scraps are absolutely combo-monkeys... With Ash in particular, I use Sweep like there's no tomorrow. ('Love watching whole groups of goons bounce like little villainous super-balls with him around. XD) I find myself not relying on them as heavily with the stalkers. I typically start with Sweep, move on to Weaken and then just pick them up again if a good situation presents itself.
Like I pointed out, one combo can only be used when invis from the start, and on a fast moving team, I may not be rehidden by the time I get to the next mob.
So right there, Empower is weasted. I can't get back into to hide without standing around and doing nothing, and since Empower is tied to using Placate after BU>AS I'm screwed with it.
Alabating Strike, one of the better attacks is tied to only one combo...Sweep...which is of course tied to BU and AS.
Weakon, one of the worst combo's for effects (imo anyways, I really don't find it useful), is tied to all the AOE attacks? *Sigh*
Ways to improve the set is to rearrange the combos...
AS>NS>SS = Attack Vitals
Placate>BU>Assassin Strike = Empower
VS>AS>1K Cuts = Sweep
Weaken can just stay the same as it really doesn't matter
These are combo's I could use, and would use often, and the Attack Vital's combo is part of DB's better damage chain anyways, upping Dual Blade's DPS by getting AV Combo's DoT effect on it. -
I went the Empower > Sweeping Strike > Repeat route, but didn't find it to be an increase in DPS, and I also found that Empower just didn't go off everytime I ran through the chain.
BF > Attack Vitals kept winning out.
Never got enough +RCH ina build to run the BF>AS>SS>AS chain...so can't help with that one. -
Quote:Ya know, I'm starting to wonder if you just don't like the actress for herself. The problem with WW's costume is that it is -- if possible -- one of the most ludicrous of the superhero outfits. And the character herself demands that the actress really needs to look like she can take someone down in a fight, which doesn't mean a full-on Ms. Fitness Pageant type of body, just someone with muscular definition. Jessica Biel or Michelle Rodriguez look like that. These stick figure girls with "starlet wasting disease" just aren't believable as action stars, nevermind superheroes. The young woman they got to portray Lara Croft a couple years ago... whose name escapes me... Googling... ah, Alison Carroll has the kind of body one needs to play Wonder Woman. She's beautiful, and she looks like she could actually hold her own. A few weeks weight training and she'd completely look the part.
"starlet wasting disease"?
The actress they got to portray WW doesn't look like she suffers from that at all. -
Quote:Nope, never even thought to get on test to look it over! :O Will have to now!you didnt check it out on test? yeah there is what someone called a riding skirt in it, goes down to the ankles by being basically tacked to the legs, now, its center is basically bare, so you would most likely use tights of some sort under it if you dont want a breeze, but it looks pretty good. its in the teaser vid too, the woman with the dual pistols is wearing it. im planning a few character redesigns when it hits live form non steampunk chars. paired with tights and boots, kind of reminds me of orihime's white outfit from bleach when she was kidnapped.

Quote:2 ACC/3 DMG/1 ENDRED!Hey everyone,
Always been curious, more-so now that I am starting up a DM/SD, of how to slot Siphon Life?
In the ways of SOs, not sets.
I plan to use sets later, but as I am leveling, SOs are cheaper and quicker for me.
Do I slot for damage or healing? I plan to mainly use as a heal to keep end use manageable... but does slotting for damage affect the heal too? or does heal enhancements affect damage... or do I need a mix of the two?
Thanks in advance... sorry would of searched but doing this from my phone is difficult enough
Slot it for damage! The heal is just bonus. -
Still build it the same way...
Softcapped Defenses first, then +RCH. Don't worry about the +HP, because you will get there (HP cap) without even trying as long as you grab the Accolades (more than likely anyways). -
Quote:SS>NS>AB>NS is better in DPS because of NS's shorter animation time than PS.DB dpa from best to worst for stalkers is:
Sweeping Strike
Ablating Strike
Assassin's Blade
Power Slice/Nimble Slash (almost identical)
1k Cuts
Vengeful Slice
Something like SS>PS>AB>PS is likely the best chain you will get, which is nowhere near the scrapper damage potential, but I think we knew that already.
I think some of DB's problems on Stalkers is multiple...
1) No Typhoon's Edge. This is my biggest complaint really. I love it's animation and don't care for 1K Cuts animation as much. Lack of TE puts me off the set on Stalkers.
2) One of the combo's is BU>Assassin Strike>Placate for the Empower combo. One might think this isn't so bad, but it is when you can't get back into hide mid combat without using Placate first.
So one can only really use this combo when starting combat. That's about it.
3) BU>Assassin Strike>AS is the sweep combo? Okay, now since I can't use Empower again because of Empower ending with Placate, this combo really just became a 4 part combo, if I want to use this midcombat (which Sweep helps save your butt with the knockdown) I need to lead with Placate.
Here's the problem with this thought...multiple enemies around, Assassin Strike interrupted because you took a hit damage, so this combo has just now been ruined for you, because Placate only effects one target, nevermind the group of enemies you were TRYING to knockdown.
One could think to use Weaken Combo for the -tohit, but the -tohit isn't enough.
4) So we go to Attack Vitals. Now while I admit, I have no idea how much the DoT adds to one's damage. Attack Vitals on it's own is not it's best DPS chain.
NS > SS > NS > AS = 114 DPS
Attack Vitals Combo > Sweep Strike = 94.21 DPS + AVC's DoT (Like I said I don't know what that amounts to) maybe it tacks on an additional 20 DPS (doubtful)
Attack Vitals Combo > Alabating Strike = 90.96 DPS + AVC's DoT which means using SS is the better option for both DPS and AOE purposes, but I thought I'd show what it is with AS.
Let's not forget on Stalkers Attack Vitals is a Single Target oriented combo, with Scrappers/Brutes/Tankers the AVC ends with SS for the DoT to effect multiple targets.
5) So you're left with 2 Combo's that can be used often and no choice around it. Weaken and Attack Vitals.
The Problem? They both us Power Slice. Soooo...*sigh*
Attack Vitals Combo > Sweeping Strike > 1K Cuts seems the way to go when going for use of a combo and not just going NS>AS>NS>SS for some AOE fun.
BU>Assassin Strike>Placate -> SS>NS>AS>NS -> Repeat untill possibly hitting Placate>BU>Assassin Stike -> AS>NS>SS>NS to return to the normal chain, but to throw in a Sweep Combo.
6) Dual Blades seems to be build around Blidning Feint for additional damage as well, which of course Stalkers don't get. It's a lot like Claws without Follow Up.
So, let's go back to Attack Vitals. Assuming it actually gives an additional 20 DPS (again I'm doubtful) with the DoT to just match the AS/NS/SS/NS DPS chain, it still loses, because you throw in IOs, and the non combo chain can slot two -Resist Procs and 2 Purple Procs.
Now, this isn't to say one can't enjoy the set. But I have to think one thing...if you're the type to hate Dual Pistols because you think it's lacking. I can't see why you wouldn't think the same of Dual Blades on Stalkers.
I say this as someone who would roll a DB/NIN Stalker right now with all it's shortcomings (or what I consider shortcomings anyways) if it just had Typhoon's Edge. -
What happened with the steampunk booster? You mean that it looks to have a new skirt option?
-
You know, if this leaked photo gets enough positive reception, maybe it'll work int he favor of a new Wonder Woman TV series (or movie) but obviously different script than the recently cancelled one.

Quote:I have to agree! Ice Armor without Hibernate is not Ice Armor! It was one of my favorite powers to take on my Ice/Ice Tanker! I'd hate to have to go Mako Patron just to get that in for theme.I just noticed yesterday (late, I know) that scrappers get Hibernate in the Mako patron pool...

Which tells me that they probably won't get /ice because devs hate changing (and won't remove) powers already in game and won't duplicate powers (IIRC). I *suppose* they could make an /ice without Hibernate but they also don't seem to be fans of doing much work to make powersets different when they proliferate them... and plus, /ice just wouldn't be ice without Hibernate.
Still a chance for brutes at least!
Of course does this also mean /Ice Armor Stalkers aren't possible? :/
[Edit] Fixed some bad wording! -
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say it doesn't look impressive. As it could of looked different on film.
That said, it looks just as good at the very least as the Linda Carter WW outfit. -
Quote:Or just a simple +33% chance to the next attack with no time window.I still don't think even six seconds would be out of line for the crit chance. Especially with how laggy things can get in game at times, a little more leeway would be nice, and hardly overpowered, either.
Would it really be that game breaking for that? -
Quote:Well, I do have Tough planned to be used on my Regen. My most recent regen is Elec/Regen, constructed to have about 35% melee defense as this was before I became fully converted to s/l for scrappers. I'd say it's pretty tough compared to the average scrapper you see on pugs, but does it compare to my softcapped DB/Inv? Not even close. Of course, the latter has a much better build, too. The regen was even squishier before I got tier 3 spiritual but now it is again pretty tolerable, usually with at least two clickable countermeasures on tap whenever anything is needed.
I'd be surprised if your DB/Regen ended up "as strong" as your DB/WP but I also imagine it should be plenty fun anyway, and it should be fine for whatever content. There's something to be said for having more to do than just attack. I haven't even unlocked any post-alpha slots on my regen, though, and it is conceivable that destiny, especially barrier, would have a bigger impact on a regen than any destiny would have on an already-solid WP.
But yes, my DB/WP is solid, but I'd for sure prefere it if it had a clickie heal over straight toggles, as I like to have that one defense power (outside of a tier 9) as I find it makes playing a melee type more fun (why I prefere Stalker WP over Scrapper WP). -
Quote:That would be Nimble.Blazing aura and fiery embrace are incredibly necessary, and along with burn are basically the entire reason to use the set. If you do go DB/FA, one of the primary benefits is that double stacked blinding feint will really kick your blazing aura into high gear. Temp protection is not essential but slow resistance doesn't hurt and it's a nice place to stick a steadfast.
You can of course take whatever DB attacks you please, but the best non-silly chain is Blinding Feint -> Ablating Strike -> Vengeful Slice -> Sweeping Strike -> repeat, also called BF->AV. This does great single target and cone damage so a case could be made that the combos apart from attack vitals can be ignored, and their powers skipped. This saves you a few power picks and a ton of slots. However, if running such a terse chain is unappealing, sweep is also a cool combo. I believe that if you want to run both AV and Sweep there's still at least one power you can skip but I don't recall which one it is.
If you don't go for the Sweep Combo (I don't) I suggest taking Nimble over Power, just because you might as well have the Empower combo for when exemping. -
I'd skip Nimble Slash, if you're taking the Sweep combo. If you're just going with Attack Vitals (I take Attack Vitals Combo and Typhoons Edge), I'd take Nimble Slash.
If you're going to be Fire Armor, I wouldn't skip Blazing Aura or Fiery Embrace. Those are staple powers!
Fiery Embrace stacks fire damage onto all your attacks! Team with a Kin that puts you at damage cap, your then doing OVER damage cap damage. -
I can't wait to see it. So far, my expectations are just WAY up there, and these trailers are putting them up there!
This looks like they're going for a real comic book action feel! -
-
You will be a damage fiend!
Redraw you can get used to, building for as much +Defense as possible will likely help in having less redraw.
Also, we can hope the devs decide to fix it so weapon users aren't saddled with redraw one day

Quote:Because /SR had the taunt aura ADDED in while it was being ported (should be noted however, that /EA lacks a taunt aura, so it's not like /SR needed to have it for Brutes, but I don't deny that it's quite good to have on the Brute). It's odd because it's not a 100% rule so I'm kind of unsure why /sr has a taunt aura for brutes, but not scrappers.
Scrappers have always had /SR, but it didn't have the taunt aura to begin with. Adding in the taunt aura would basically screw over those with /SR who don't want the taunt aura.
Those who want a taunt aura added to /SR for Scrappers can always roll a Brute.
Personally I hope /SR for Scrappers never gets a taunt aura, specifically because that's one big change that doesn't need to happen for a /SR scrapper player who doesn't care for the taunt. Those who want it added, rolled it up knowing it wasnt there.
As for Energy Aura, yes it was said to be balanced. I figure the buff to it will happen when the set gets ported over to Tankers/Scrappers, with a change in Conserve Power (just like with Electric Armor). Here's hoping one of those changes in EA is the ability to max Energy Resists (which is what I really wish EA did now to tack on with it's Energy Defense). -
Quote:Well, if that's the case, I'll feel more confident about my build. As long as both sets are equally IOed out, I think it's down to how well the player uses the click powers.

Right now, my DB/WP is sitting at softcapped for S/L/E/N, a whole lot of HP (2202), and 48-50 HP a second regen with one target in range (plus the resists WP gives).
If all things being equal as long as I use my click powers well, I'll feel better about it all.
That said, I wouldn't mind a Purple Heal IO set that grants +3% Defense in the 6th slot for even more defense >_> -
Sam, I'd say your problem is that you really need to queue up that next attack while EC animates.
That 2 second window starts while in the animation of EC. It's not EC finishes animating THEN gives the +33% chance to crit (which is what I last recall it being as well +33% on top of whatever your normal crit chance is)...but rather it's "Oh look I'm jumping in the air, about to extend the leg for the kick, I better click that next attack or I'll miss the extra crit bonus!"
They should really increase the length of that crit window imo, but I think they kept it short so some really good people didn't get TWO attacks off in a row with an additional +CRIT chance.
