Here's a DM/SR with similar slotting. MG is about .2 seconds off on the needed RCH to obtain SM - SL - SM - MG, but I'd guess it wouldn't really be noticed due to lag, and could be fixed if one just takes the Spiritual Alpha (though I'd likely go the Masculation Route, just for the added damage).
Soul Drain isn't perma either, but close enough imo. Basically, I like these builds for the lack of Hasten.
Also if ENDREC isn't enough, there's always using Cardiac.

Quote:I'm curious, how does Katana get more -resistance than Dual Blades?Good point. I wouldn't personally like being stuck with "only" 200% extra regeneration for a minute with no heal except greens, but that much regeneration DOES go a really long way when nothing can hit you. A number of people have done all the usual dangerous stuff using just passive regeneration on a Super Reflexes, and that was before Rebirth. So yeah, Rebirth is plenty for most things most of the time.
Using the same basic template that had Katana doing 242 DPS, Dual Blades ended up with the exact same number. Now, that's pre-incarnate powers, and with Spiritual you can get the Dual Blades damage up a little higher (249 DPS) since the top chain tops out at +314% recharge, which I wasn't achieving.
Both should benefit about the same from Interface, as both top chains put out four attacks in 4.5 seconds. The Katana chain gets a little more -resistance than the Dual Blades chain, so probably gets a hair more out of Interface damage, but it's hardly a deciding factor.
Maybe I should say more about front-loading damage. A long time ago, I was comparing a Broad Sword build to a Dual Blades build. I'm kind of making up numbers since I don't remember exactly, but I think the Broad Sword build did around 175 DPS, and the Dual Blades build did around 225 DPS. The thing is, Broad Sword was ahead on damage for the first 15 or so seconds of the fight despite a 50 DPS deficit. If we're talking about a mere 7 DPS deficit, I think we'd find that the Katana damage is ahead of Dual Blades for a very long time indeed. Front loaded damage is also better at taking out threats in a spawn, improving survivability.
In practice, though, it would probably be pretty hard to notice the difference just based on performance. Both would tear through spawns quickly. Both would eliminate dangerous mobs quickly.
Actually, it's kind of shocking to me how well-balanced power sets remain even with top end builds. I know the devs have had seven years to iron all this out, but I'm still impressed.
Both sets can take both -Resistance Procs. Dual Blades top chain uses Alabating Strike and Sweeping Strike, but of which can take a -resistance. -
Quote:This part comes down to build choices and available slots, and possibly do you even want to heal others?Cool thoughts so far!
I one does go for Aid Self, do you even bother to slot Aid Other? One thing I see is that you could add a slot to Aid Other, and get 2 pc Numina's for a 12% Regen.
Assuming one has the slots.
5 Luck of the Gamblers +RCH (which SR has the powers to slot them)
Aid Other and Aid Self slotted with Panacea
Epic Pool Hold.
That's 8 bonses of +7.5% RCH, plus Quickness, plus any other powers slotted with +RCH.
Of course that said, one of those +7.5% can be slotted with a purple set (hold) if given the slots.
Here's just a quick (expensive) MA/SR build that fits it all in (and now I wonder if I can fit this all in on a DM/SR build)

Quote:It's sword + pistol...so it would be a dual weapon set.To me, a ranged weapon should never be a part of a melee set regardless of the fact that melee sets have ranged powers in them already. Ranged weapons are for ranged powersets, and melee weapons for melee powersets. Aside from ridiculousness, what seperates the spirit of this suggestion from, say, Archery Melee?
I am also dubious of the suggestion to instead create a Katana 'Manipulation'-styled set for Blasters... as again it crosses that above barrier. There is just something about the aesthetics of it that I don't like.
The pistol would deliver a few ranged abilities. Seeing as how Spines/Claws/Kinetic have the same thing, I don't see why it would be a problem.
Not to mention, this type of set could be given to not only Tankers/Stalkers/Scrappers/Brutes, but also Dominators most likely.
As to the OP...way to do All-Out Assault. PBAOE with two parts...8ft part does Higher amount of damage, while another PBAOE does bigger AOE. -
Quote:I saw it only a few hours ago and I thought it was a very thoughtful and fun movie, that knew when drama was drama and when there was time for a tension-relieving joke or two.
McAvoy and Fassbender are very able leads and Fassbender in particular was done a great service in being told by Vaughn not to reference Ian McKellan's performance. That was a very good choice and no offence to our Xavier/Magneto here, Patrick Stewart and MacKellan are veteran Shakespeare rep actors with a gravitas that really only comes from experience. Not tying either actor to be beholden to that was a very good move.
However.
This is apparently being pitched as a new trilogy (as I feared, not being a fan of prequels full of younger, prettier actors rather than...you know...actors) and there are continuity problems ahead, considering they made such an effort to reference the earlier films.
For one, we have a character from the Wolverine movie in this movie, and from the Wolverine movie we have a slightly older Xavier taking in Cyclops and co. So you would then have to explain how said character winds up being in the Wolverine movie.
And then Wolverine himself...without giving anything away, there's a connection made there that pretty much undoes Wolverine being an unknown factor in the original X-Men film.
Fox have clearly decided that rather and try to ignore or address X3, they're going to root themselves in the past and do the Young X-Men Adventures, because presumably the primary cast have been signed to at least one more picture. Otherwise why our cameos? Why clearly state in the script references to future events? And lastly, why have Bryan Singer on board as one of the producers if it's clean slate? He has a viable connection to this franchise as it started out and starting anew would to me imply a desire to start fresh, rather how Star Trek did.
It's still an excellent film however, but I do fear that the long term plans for this is a 'milk the franchise' move more than anything else.

***Possible Spoilers ahead***
Nothing in X1 really gets undone by First Class. For one, in First Class, amnesia hasnt hit yet.
Charles.magneto never said they never met him before, and what they did meet was less than a minute.
However, yeah...we now know Charles goes bald by the time the 80's hit
There is the bit about him still walking then, but that can easily be that he gets cured and then put back in the wheel chair again (has happened in the comics, so can happen in the movies).
I dont think they used Emma's name in Wolverine, but I dont recall. -
Go Brute, grab Gloom to help on your single target damage

Quote:Yeah. I was wonder if the poster thought Darwin had changed sides too, but that wasn't the case.I'm not surprised by either character who changed size.
Angel changed sides from the side with the people who they are suppose to be helping openly mocking you to the side that wipes out those same people without breaking a sweat.
Raven changed the side where her true form is encouraged to be hidden to the side whose leader tells her she'll be accepted openly by her own kind.
And Frost doesn't really change sides.
Of the movie, only two people (Angel and Raven) changed sides. The rest kept the side they were on, only under new management (from Shaw to Magneto).
I will forever wonder why Magneto changed styles on his helmet to the terrible one we see in X1-X3
First Class's Magneto helmet was so much better

Quote:I'm just curious if this includes the Damage Buff Defenders get solo.Really?
Energy Blast chain:
Burst, Bolt, Blast, Bolt, repeat
Corruptor Base Damage:
88.42+41.71+68.4+41.71 = 240.24
Defender Base Damage:
76.63+36.15+59.28+36.15 = 208.21
Damage buff caps: Cor +400%; Def +300%
Cor chain at damage cap: 1201.2
Def chain at damage cap: 832.84
This doesn't even consider scourge. Defender damage output is not in the same ballpark. Even unslotted and ignoring scourge, which we shouldn't do, cor damage is 15% higher and it just goes up from there.
That said, Corrs, imo, tend to win out just because they get the attacks sooner.

I'd have to agree. Not saying I'd stop paying for them, but I could see a lot of people going "Well if I just wait, it'll become free"

Quote:OR...you can just make use of male and female models and have access to it all and not worry about which model type has more of what. The only logic I can see there is "each bodytype should get a similar amount of stuff in each pack". So if female models are getting sexy witch leathers and male/huge models are getting badass occult coats, then everyone is getting about the same amount of stuff. But if you give the badass occult coats to the female models then suddenly the female models are getting two things, and that's unfair. And you can't give sexy witch leathers to the male and huge outfits, because that would be gay. So females only get the sexy witch leathers and nothing else.

Quote:Hide is a simple Stealth Power, no different than Dark Armor's Cloak of darkness. So saying it needs replaced is sillyYou keep on trying to derail my efforts. Cut it out!

Joking aside, Ice Armor is more likely because only 1 power would need replacing: Hibernate. Ninjitsu would need Hide and Caltrops replaced. But that's not to say I'm not clamoring for Ninjitsu to be proliferated over either.
And I've suggested what to replace Caltrops with before.
Body Hardening aka an exact clone of Resist Physical Damage -
If they gave an ICE EPIC along with Ice Armor/Ice Melee...Id be okay with this suggestion, I just dont see it happening, so Ninjitsu is still my vote.

Stick with VEAT. Pick CRAB, it's like playing a Scrapper with backpack that kills everything!

Quote:***Spoilers***Same, if professor x let Shaw go = booom!
There was already a >spoiler alert< so,
I saw it with my wife and we liked it, though we both sort of groaned during the flying fight scenes at the end between flying pixie tattoo girl and Banshee, it looked, goofy.
And as mentioned characters changed sides too casually.
Good film though, better then X3 easily but not quite up to X1-2.
Only two of them changed sides. The others were already on the side, they were just willing to follow a new lead (perhaps to quickly). -
Quote:I've noticed the bit of control it gives, in that the masses run about instead of attack. It's jsut, right now I'm at 37% Defense across the board right now, so that could be why I'm not seeing the need for the scatter, especially with Blinding Powder coming up, it seems like it would be a better control power. As a DAMAGE power, it certainly is (worthless).
As a CONTROL power, it most certainly is NOT (worthless).
Caltrops is an AREA DENIAL power, not a Damage power (although it can be loaded up with procs that do damage, if you've got the slots for it).
Not worried about the AOE damage as I have plent in my Primary. -
So far enjoying the set. However, truthfully, maybe it's because I've gotten plenty of defense early on, but Caltrops seems so...worthless.
Also the tier 9, looking it over, it's likely just mean, but I'd rather see it become something akin to being used more often with lower +Defense, without the end drain/-recovery so I could use it as more of a travel and less of a OH NO button. -
So far, watching just the trailers, I'm unimpressed with the movie.
I think it's better to just assume they took over the world and not show how, cuz right now, what I'm seeing, is a lab of enhanced gorillas takes over the world.
I just don't see how a city of people, who all have the possibility to be armed, can lose to a species that numbers what...20 maaaybe 50? -
Saw it. And I liked it.
Yup the "**** off" cameo was great.
My only question now is, is X3 phased out as never happening, or will they make it so the beginning of X3 is still possible.
