So, was it just three Star Trek references, or did I miss some?
Enjoyed the movie. Though I do wish they'd quit making Starscream look so pathetic. :/ -
Quote:Why would they yell "Gather" when everyone is already gathered? My experience is that people pick the incarnate abilities that are best for them and not for their teams - people rarely buff anyone but themselves (except by accident) with the destiny abilities, for example; I've never heard "gather for clarion" or anything.
So, no, I don't think emp is useless. In fact I think it's one of the few must-have sets in Keyes. The emp buffs are still needed because generally teams don't coordinate their incarnate buffs so you can fill in the holes.
Not to mention, on any AOE buff power I'e used, I jumped into the middle of the team and let it loose, instead of saying "Gather"
Maybe right before dogpiling on an AV or GM, I might have said "Gather" but normally, no.
Also, using Clear Mind on everyone is just silly. And imo, this is the one power I find the least useful for most of any content. -
This is true! However, Brutes don't currently have Martial Arts as an option.
-
Fire Armor!
Not only does it add to MA's lacking AOE, but it enhances MA already awesome ST.
Squishie feeling for sure, invest in IOs. -
TFs:
Synapse, Citadel and Numina need to some updating. Numina only in the fact that I don't care for the hunting missions, but they don't tend to annoy me as I just have the team split off and take them down.
Shadow Shard TFs also could also use an update.
All the rest, I quite enjoy including the Incarnate TFs.
Trials:
Blueside Respec needs updated.
Incarnate Trials I enjoy as well.
Story Arcs:
When I ran them, I enjoyed the Hollows Arcs.
Enjoy the last two Croatoa Arcs (but one of the hunt missions annoys me)
Striga arcs kinda bore me outside of the first one.
Love the Maria Jenkins arc.
I like the Midnighter Access Arcs (on both sides).
But sadly a lot of the story arcs, I just don't find all that interresting...or rather I should say for the ones Ive ran through, for whatever reasons.
PvP:
Hasn't been the same since all the changes. I wasn't a hardcore PvPer, but I enjoyed it much more back then, when I felt like my melee toon had it's mez protection shield. -
Quote:Only problem I see with this review, is not everyone who watched the previous ones hated them.io9 had an interesting review, first to paragraphs below.
Yes, their were groan parts in the second...the over use of the leg humping comes to mind first.
But if Bay really has a problem with the fans and comments, I think he's spending to much time on the internet, reading what a gathered masses of nerdrage, instead of looking at the sales numbers and going "Hmmm...take that critism, fix it a bit, and make the sequal that the masses are obviously enjoying"
Transformers isn't a work of art. It's a popcorn flick. Meant to be fun. And I'd say the general movie going populace had fun seeing these movies. And the general movie going populace isn't likely to be the ones to say anything about the movie online. -
Quote:War Walls down? Yes!We need war walls down, trains down and telepad for supers to every zone.
Trains down? I'm not so sure about this. They work just like a telepad would. And they make since to have in a city. However, a lot of heroes would tend to have their own means of travel, rather than public transit.
I'd keep the trams, get rid of the walls, and let the bases be the telepad hub for heroes. -
Assuming you mean IOs here...
Kinetic Combat and Reactive Armor, these are your friends, as a Willpower user.
You only need to slot for enough +RCH to obtain the ST DPS chain you want to obtain. This is where the build becomes tricky.
BF-Attack Vitals Combo-Repeat is easier to obtain than say Storm Kick-CS-SK-CAK-Repeat.
Adding in Hasten to the build make obtaining some of those DPS strings easier, but keeping Hasten perma becomes (imo) a bit harder, when trying to at least get close to 45% S/L/E/N Defense. -
I'm going to suggest (and I know it's the Scrapper boards and personally I prefere Scrappers) ELM/FA/SOUL Brute.
AOE? Covered!
ST? With Gloom in the mix covered. Not that it's really all that terrible relying on just Electric Melee when you have Burn, Blazing Aura going, and Fiery Embrace to enhance your ST, but adding in Gloom just helps with it.
Build for Defense and Recharge.
Burn and Lightning Rod on their own should have you feeling like you are contributing a lot of damage to the team.
ST damage output should only really be a factor when solo, and like I said FA helps even the worst ST set in that department (Soul even more so). -
Not to bad, though wouldn't it just be easier to lower the the time gate? Earn an EMP every 10 hours.
I know I wasn't to thrilled with earning a HO off the STF every 24 hours. :/ At least every 20 hours I could continue to do it once a day. With the 24 hour period I can't, if I happen to run it late one day. -
Still not excited about the new SuperGirl look. I liked the current one.

Wasn't the idea (at least in the beginning) to have it so every 100 issues of USM equaled 1 year?
Well I know that was the idea in the beginning, did they nix it? -
Quote:I know what it can do. My slotting was more out of personal game play greed and that the other players should just be happy I kept them all shieldedWell if you are mainly a PvE toon and you team a lot and you tend to cast your shields.. then yes, it's a pretty terrible idea. (Sorry if that's blunt.) Slotting can give you ~10% more defence to every team member when you look at Cold shields for example, with as few as 2 slots.

I'm saying it was made in jest, but a good way for Paragon Studios to make more money, especially off the hardcore badgers who must have the badges now.

Quote:You know, this made me realize something. Is Billz original test even conclusive of anything? Maybe the RNG hated him that day? Could he have had better luck the next day?Days? Your posts are getting more and more laughable. Do you really know anyone claiming that they have used shards to get incarnated up in under a week using shards?
His test ran for what, a couple of hours. Wouldn't a real test be more than that, over a bit of time, then take the average?
What if he got 5 and hour the rest of the week? It would throw off his one day test.
Just curious on that one.
Now, Im not saying I'm for the costumes/emotes being locked behind the content, however, I do know with them being locked, I have SG members running trials who otherwise might never have ran them...and they enjoy it because they want rewards that aren't based on xp/merits, but rather costume pieces/emotes.
So perhaps the Devs are catering to that player base. Which of course totally screws over the solo player only player base. But then the trial rewards wouldn't be trial rewards if they could be obtained so easily solo.
Basically...the devs are screwed no matter which road they take! -
Quote:Hmmm...what does this do for all those people who's starting contact was in GC?Well, I'm pretty sure the Galaxy City station will be destroyed - that's a start

Does getting rid of a zone break a cottage rule? If so, can we break more of them?
The poor WS! They're contact will likely be moved to AP.
I feel the need to make another character who starts in GC, but what?! I prefere Corrs to Defenders, Doms to Trollers...
Hmmm...lead my main and namesake into a new secret identity, then rename my global and forum name...do all that (when of course I restart again when Time Manipulation comes out)...and complain about the loss of my starting zone contact and skittle provider!
<_<
I'm liking this idea!
>_>
Hmmm...KIN/DP maybe... -
Quote:The Devs need to take a look at the original competition, and copy that for Ice Armor look.I'd also like for customization on the 'ice' look. I mean, I understand some people like being a walking block of ice, but I'd like to be able to choose something less 'blocky'.
I've been playing an ice/ice tank for a little while (still leveling) and I have to say, it doesn't feel fit for a scrapper in its current state (so yea, I agree with the long post above). -
Quote:This is true. And I do make use of them! But that still leaves my flier not flying everywhereNo you don't.
You can use the Security gates, Tunnels (Like Atlas Park to Steel Canyon), the Sewers, RWZ, Pocket D, Ouro Portal, the Went/BM teleport, Helicopters (if villain), an SG teleporter, or the Midnighters Club.
You choose to use the train. You aren't forced to use it.

Quote:Weren't you doing fine on 4/8 with just IOs (which can be obtained solo) without Incarnate abilities? o.OAnd I've found I die less at +4/x8 w/bosses w/AVs now that I've got the incarnate slots loaded up. Imagine that. But I don't "need" to run at max diff either, right? Just like I don't "need" enhancements at all, right?
I know I was running 4/8 on my Scrapper before Incarnate abilities and I didn't need to run at 4/8.
And nothing is stopping anyone from working towards the incarnates solo now, untill the devs get the solo incarnate content out, which will happen, it just hasn't happened yet.
Let's put it into perspective. At least what you want (soloable incarnate content) is a lot closer than what I want...the comic book staple of a dual pistols/defense AT.
Soloable Incarnate content, I'd bet in i21 (this is of course thinking one will not be getting a team together to run the trials solo, the same way people get solo TFs started).
Dual Pistols/Defense AT. Maybe never. -
Quote:Bill can do solo Trials. If people can get a trial going and duo it, Bill can get people together to solo it.Perhaps if the minimum players for Incarate trials were dropped to 1. I'd love to see how far BillZ could get in a solo Lambda or BAF. And you still earn Threads and such even if you fail it so...
Which is no different than the duo had to do, since all the trials require more than 2 people to start them. -
This is true.
That said, I've found PuG trials go smoother when more people have them, and they fail a bit more with out them.
At least, that's how some of those "Hey 16 people on this lamba and only 4 at +1, everyone else is 50" have gone. -
Quote:Havent they said that's already in the cards, just needs to take time. So why are people asking for something they already said was coming? And I say again, IT IS NOT ABOUT NEED.
It's about a goal to be worked towards.
On the one hand, you have a track where Goal A can be reached in a couple days by going ape-**** doing one thing over and over and over again.
On the same track, at a more sedate pace, it can be gotten in a couple weeks.
On the other track, you're now talking months and months and months and hundreds millions of inf spent out. Even if the person doing the track is running at difficulty levels comparable to the first track.
While I'm not saying it's *either or*, I'm simply saying the two advancement tracks are not equitable. They don't have to be *THE SAME*. They should be in roughly the same ballpark though.
*Facepalm*
What's being asked for IS incarnate-level content for soloists.
What part about that was in ANY way unclear?
Or are we going to keep going around and around with "You don't need it because there's no content. There's no content because you don't need it."??? -
Quote:Oh now see. You said solo. They duoed it. And obviously they didn't have a problem with teaming, as they were teamed. Those two players that duoed the lambda duoed basic PvE content. Wait, you say, the lambda isn't basic PvE content! It takes 8 to start!
Like the LRSF and STF. The LRSF has been soloed. Is it part of your basic PvE content?
I "need" the incarnate powers to solo the lambda. I'm looking forward to the attempt knowing that I'll probably never succeed. But there's your reason why soloists want and "need" the incarnate buffs.
[Edit] Well then, get in the Lamda, and solo it, and work your way up to the powers. It'd be just like a lot of teams did it.
They failed. They took the astral merits and threads, got their abilties and then finally beat it. Same principle applies, and you can solo the trials. -
Quote:I agree. Teams doing the regular PvE content (ie the non incarnate content) don't need them either.I already answered to this same question from you in another thread.
If a soloist doesn't need incarnate abilities, the team players need them even less. Everything in this game is easier and faster for those on teams. This is by design.
Your incorrect belief that soloists don't "need" incarnate abilities while those teaming do does nothing but tell us you don't know what soloists have been doing for the last seven years. -
Quote:Not at all!Which is completely besides the point.
Why level up?
Why slot sets?
Why get accolades?
Why get vet status and abilities?
BECAUSE IT IS THERE TO BE GOTTEN!
Trying to convince yourself that you *need* powers for the raids, but soloists don't is merely elitism.
What I'm saying is the soloist doesnt need to have it HERE AND NOW, since you know, it's just awesome stuff to work towards, more than "this massive player trial would go alot smoother and have a better chance to succeed if we all had some Incarnate powers"
The soloist is doing basic PvE content. Yes! That content would be made even easier to the point of one wondering if they indeed had their difficulty up, if the soloist had the tier 4s.
Now, if they had incarnate content that could be soloed, I'd understand all this. But...they don't!
So untill that time, I don't see the slow progression as a problem at all.
