They need to add a glowing eyes (combat and always on) option witht he bat aura (and this wouldnt be to bad to have a combat option as well).
The Brooch needs to be colorable as well.
The wings are awesome. -
Hmmm...for a Tanker...
Initial Strike - Shin Breaker - Initial Strike - Crushing Uppercut - Initial Strike - Sweeping Cross - Repeat might not be to bad.
Initial Strike has bruising for -Resist. Shin Breaker can be fitted with a -Resist Proc and a Purple Proc. Sweeping Cross can be fitted with a -Resist Proc (different one than the one in Shin Breaker) and a Purple Proc.
Sweeping Cross does do a little less than Heavy Blow in the DPA on Combo 1 (but surpasses it on combo level 2 and 3), but if CU misses, that gives SC a chance to do COmbo level 3 damage (and with enough +ACC/+TOHit that should be the case).
And while Sweeping Cross will put out a little less DPS than Heavy Blow at Combo Lvl 1, the Initial Strike before SC can be replaced by Combat Readiness everytime it's up to give SC combo level 3 damage.
That string also gives 3 Purple Procs (Hold Damage Proc in CU)
Total time of chain...8.976 seconds...enough for Combat Readiness to go through the entire chain. Roughly 122.63 DPS not counting all the -Resist the set would be throwing around. Adding in RC in the place of 2 IS's has the DPS go down, but maybe replacing 1 IS with RC will allow the -Resist of it to make up for it (I don't know though).
Adding in Gloom instead would likely be the way to go, but then you'd lose a combo builder.
But -60 Resist doesn't seem to bad to go with at 122 DPS for the Tanker. -
Quote:Yeah. I got what you meant in that last part. I think many of those who try to make the builds that can solo AVs/Pylons/GMs without the use of inspirations, do that solely for stress test purposes, and normally would use them.Perhaps 'aversion' was too strong of a word, but you apparently get what I meant to describe. I mostly meant to convey that we shouldn't throw out builds that can't quite make the soft-cap when there is a reasonably reliable solution in the form of inspirations.
I know when I do my AV soloing, I try to do it without the use of inspirations first. Purely as a goal for myself. And if it can't be done, then use the inspirations.
Had to do that with my DB/WP vs Weakened Honoree int he Alpha Slot story arc. -
Quote:Some of it's damage potention will be tied into expensive IOs.I was wondering is street justice any good ?
I like to know before I buy it....
is it better then super strength or the others with high damage ?
Figure it can slot botht he -Resist Procs (and a Purple Damage Proc) into two of it's attacks. Sweeping Cross and Shin Breaker.
Best DPS is still being decided I believe, but I'd say the set is more well rouded than anything else.
Like has been mentioned before. It's not that SS is a ST DPS machine, it's that it can be paired with GLOOM to turn it into one.
Besides it's awesome animations (well, I think a couple of them could use some tweaks myself, but generally I love the animations of the set), it's a set that gives pretty decent ST DPS at relatively low amounts of +RCH, with some decent AOE, after all you get a cone and an targetted AOE.
It's not a bad set, but if you're looking for top 3, I don't think it'll wind up in that position. -
Quote:I actually have no aversion to using inspirations. And I don't think people on the forums have an adversion to it. It's more the goal is to create a character that can do it without.I find 30% plus a purple inspiration works fine enough for difficult encounters like an AV. I know a lot of people on these forums have an aversion to using inspirations to fill the gaps against hard enemies, but sometimes it's easier to throw down a few hundred influence for a purple every couple of missions rather than a few billion influence for a build that requires you sacrifice everything else in the name of defense.

That's the difference in it. -
Quote:I'm hoping to find just the right amount of needed defense on my REGEN. I'm hoping it's not softcapped though.Regen really points out what survivability is in this game.
Notice how many of the posts talk about how good regen is when you add defense. This is true, because defense will improve your survivability far more than any other factor. If you don't get hit, obviously you don't take damage, and on top of that, you completely avoid secondary effects like slows, minus regen, minus rech, etc.
Of course, the devs noticed this, and in trying to lessen the gap between the value of defense and things like resistance, regen, etc, started adding defense busting mechanisms in the new content like tip missions and incarnate material. That has increased the need for layered survival techniques, meaning stacking defense with things like regen and resistances.
That's why a set like regen has moved up in the ranks of secondaries, because it offers a lot of survival powers to add to any defense you can build with pool powers and io set bonuses. On the other hand, a set like super reflexes, has dropped like a stone, imo, because once you get past it's defense, it offers little to nothing in terms of layered defenses, while io set bonuses do not offer resistance or regen bonuses anywhere near rivaling defense bonuses other non-def based sets benefit from.
Just enough to make soloing AVs doable. -
Hmmm...does Instant Healing stack?
Click [Instant Healing] then click on [Burnout] for even MORE REGEN! -
I'm only for Hero Patron Pools if they come with a permanent, can't be remove for any reason, gold title that says "Statesman's Sidekick" (or whatever hero you choose)
It should be there for all to see, which hero you chose as your big league partner in heroics! And you should wear it proudly, knowing that you worked so close with them to be considered their sidekick!
You'd of course get to use any of the Hero Patron Pools, but you only get one gold title and it'd be permanent.
That would be the AWESOM way to do it. -

Seeing the screenshot of a Titan Weapon Buster Sword weapon skin, I have to ask...
Will the Buster Sword skin, with a hilt that looks long enough to use it, be available for Katana users?
Say yes! PLEASE SAY YES! -

Quote:Thanks Gob, totally forgot about checking out Paragonwiki for the answer.Lifetime Invention System access is the bonus for filling Tier 7. Premiums can also buy monthly access vouchers.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Paragon_Rewards -
...since I can't seem to find it on the front page.
At what tier do Premium Players get access to Invention Origin Enhancements? -
The -resist in the Interface isn't all that...the always in effect +dmg would be better, with the -resist likely always being in effect anways as the secondary would be the way for more damage I would think.
-
Quote:I know they can't drop it, I was just curious if the -Resist in IS made it a better attack than HB to begin with for Tankers.Well you can't drop Initial Strike, so out of those two Heavy Blow is the only one you can leave off a build.
I'm trying to work on my ELA/StJ build, and right now have all the StJ attacks, but I'm thinking in the long run that won't be the best way to go.
And yeah, I have that same problem with a lot of the power set combos.
Which is a good thing imo, as I always thought the Primary and Secondary powers should be powers you just hate to skip, but whew, makes those build choices harder.
...and has me wishish they'd level lock the power pool powers, instead of level lock AND tier them. -
Quote:Well, that might just go into looking at it's actual ingame mechanics. On the subject of WP, I've never really seen it as a set for 'natural' characters mainly because of RTTC which makes no sense at all for a normal person. SR (I dodge stuff), Shields (I block stuff), Inv (I am, however, wearing full body armor. I am not a moron!) all work better (mechanically) for the normal person concept.
I can easily see someone saying WP is just INV with different mechanics.
Though I've used WP for the Regen/SR hybrid, by softcapping defenses and basically RPing it as a mixture of both.
Still, I'd rather see an actual Positional Defense/Regen/Clickie Heal set to fit that concept (Ninjitsu could do it, but I want it on a Scrapper) -
Quote:Ah yes, that too! I forgot about it because I didn't purchase it (I knew I'd never use it due tothe stand and shoot animations that make me get bored of AR and Archery). That's also not counting Beam Rifle. I know it doesn't have a lot of love on the forums, but disintegration is a brand new mechanic for ranged damage in addition to swap ammo in DP.
But has there been no love for it on the forums? I recall seeing love for it on the forms and lots of love for it in game. -

Hmmm...was well done for what it was. Though it seems to me it could of really been a part of any sci fi show.

Quote:I thought highschool experience said yes to this question. Those who commit evil do not see themselves as "evil."
In some cases, yes, they are aware of it - but for the most part it doesn't register as "evil" to them.
A majority, however, perceive their actions and behaviors as "evil" - so is it right to conform individuals we don't consider "normal" into our rubric of "good" and "normal"?
Unnecessary quotations FTW!

Quote:Or do what I did. find someone you know who's a member of facebook, and have them get it for you.So I either have to:
1) Give up more of my privacy to Facebook than I want to
2) Violate Facebook's ToS
or
3) Do without
And that's for just the first account. I have two, so I'd need two seperate accounts for the two codes.
I'll stick with #3, then. I don't care how many choose #2 and get away with it, it's still something NC Soft shouldn't be pushing people to do.
Thanks for at least telling me I'll never be getting it, now I can stop waiting for it to show up in the store. -
Quote:Well I won't beat you.Can I say I'm not a fan of shields without getting beaten to death?

I'm not a fan of shields either. Or rather, I'm a fan of the set, but not how the set was implemented.
The set is fun and awesome. I just know it's fun an awesome.
But has me going "Since when has Shield use been a popular super power?"

Quote:Kinda like Dual Pistols is Gun Fu? Martial Arts is wire action? Fire Melee isn't wrapping your hands in bandages, dousing them with gasoline and then setting them on fire?I will point out Sam that the 'leaked' animations for Staff fighting could VERY much be used as spears, infact one of the powers was multiple 'piercing thrusts'.
This would be Spear combat ala Dynasty Warriors (where the spear is used for sweeping gestures, overhead strikes and thrusts) instead of Spear combat ala real life. -
Quote:Demons/Time - There's your MM.We need more non-melee sets. I want to try some of these other archetypes out, but I want to play them with the benefit of new game design rather than some of the old boring stuff.
DP/Time - There's your Corr
Time/DP - There's your Def
Elec/Time - There's your Troller
DP/Dark - There's your Blaster.
The thought that you need all NEW sets, to enjoy an AT, is silly, especially when Melee haven't had that many more new sets (just 1) over the others. -
Quote:I always thought WP was designed to be a low graphic set, as people couldn't get over the idea of their hero having glows (when really, I never once thought my Regen characters were really glowing green their whole time or my SR characters had a blue glow about them). No actually willpower was thematically designed for the "natural" type of hero. The guy who doesn't really have super powers or super tech to rely on but trains every day both body and mind to be the best he can be without the help of mutated genes, gama rays, or fancy armored suits.
Willpower types of characters would be people like Elektra for example.
The concept of a psychic melee character is probably best embodied by Psylocke. Psychic weaponry that possibly uses the same mechanics as the demon summoning whip attacks (no redraw no actual customizable weapon model) would be the ideal. There are also characters who fight using "psychic armor" a sort of telekinetic shell that protects and adds some oomph! to their melee hits. It would probably be a set of mixed psi and smashing damage (possibly some lethal as well) with some light control. Drain Psyche and Psychic Shockwave would probably be part of it in some form as well.
Yea we really do have ALOT of melee atm. Time for more control sets IMO. ^_^
I always thought WP was basically the PSI Armor myself (the description gives off the idea of natural human with no powers...but then when has a natural human with no powers, regened more than REGEN, took bullets to the face...ect...ect), and I realize the only reason people want PSI melee is because of PSI damage.
After all, I've seen people say "You concept doesn't work, Kin Melee doesn't do PSI damage. Only Psi damage can be Psi Melee."
So I can see the want for it. Also it is a different type of damage.
It was also voted ahead of people's want for a Street Justice set, and we still don't have it.
